Stormy Daniels’ lawyer targeted by supporters of pro-Trump conspiracy theory

Police says they investigating the incident, which they described as "suspicious."

Fans of a baseless pro-Trump conspiracy theory have a new target: Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing adult film actress Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had an affair with the president.

On Sunday, the shadowy figure at the center of the “QAnon” conspiracy theory — who claims to be a high-ranking government official with top-secret security clearance — posted a link to Avenatti’s website on the 8chan imageboard. He then posted two photos showing the exterior of Avenatti’s office building in Newport Beach, California, along with the message, “Buckle up!”

The 89-year-old said the media was largely ignoring vital issues such as climate change

Veteran activist Noam Chomsky has accused Israel of “brazenly” interfering in US electoral politics in a way that vastly outweighs any efforts that may have been carried out by Russia.

In comments in which he accused much of the media of concentrating on stories he considered marginal and ignoring issues such as the “existential threat” of climate change, the 89-year-old linguist said in much of the world, the US media’s focus with Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 was "a joke".

“First of all, if you’re interested in foreign interference in our elections, whatever the Russians may have done barely counts or weighs in the balance as compared with what another state does, openly, brazenly and with enormous support,” he said.

The biggest misconception surrounding the special counsel probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election is that it will likely end in some sort of legal proceeding involving President Donald Trump. It won't – for a bunch of reasons, the most important of which is that Robert Mueller, who is running the investigation, doesn't seem to believe a sitting President can be indicted.

The much more likely outcome is that Mueller releases the findings from his investigation sometime this fall — and lets the chips, as they relate to Trump, fall where they may.
