Just gonna post this again to say these are not very hard questions. This reaction is wild. She presumably would be governor to the 40% of Californian voters she can't even fathom answering a question about. It's astonishing the weaknesses a career in a bubble give you.

“Her dad was either a provincial or a federal minister of education. So he's, like, straight up Communist Party.”

“I was supposed to, whatever, sort of report what I knew about her, but I always thought that was kind of unfair.”

Russia backs Trump’s Gaza peace plan

The proposal is the “best” option currently on the table, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said

The plan for peace in Gaza proposed by US President Donald Trump is currently the “best” option to stop the bloodshed, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said. Most important, however, is that it be accepted by the Palestinians, he added.

The 20-point plan, released by the White House last month, calls for an immediate ceasefire and the exchange of all hostages held by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners in Israel. It also envisions turning Gaza into a “deradicalized, terror-free zone” after the withdrawal of Israeli forces, with Hamas excluded from governing the enclave.

According to Lavrov, the proposal is not ideal since it essentially sidesteps the issue of Palestinian statehood, which remains at the heart of the conflict, and only focuses on Gaza.

“We are realists. We understand that it is the best [option] that is currently on the table,” he said in an excerpt from an interview published by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. The plan looks like a sensible compromise that could be accepted or at least not outright rejected by all sides, Lavrov believes.

“The plan is realistic if the Palestinians accept it,” Lavrov stated, adding that Moscow “wishes luck” to the Turkish, Egyptian, Qatari, US and Israeli negotiators currently engaged in talks over the issue.

Russia stands ready to provide any aid in the process that could be needed, the minister said, adding that Moscow could also help create a Palestinian state. “The most important thing now is to stop the bloodshed. In that sense, Trump’s plan gives hope.”

The plan has been backed by the Palestinian Authority, which governs the West Bank, which welcomed the US president’s “sincere and determined efforts” to achieve peace in Gaza and said that partnership with Washington would be essential for stability in the region.

Israel reportedly halted the ground operation that it launched in Gaza Сity last month after the plan was released. West Jerusalem and Hamas are also preparing to exchange Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners as part of the US-backed peace efforts, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump to make historic visit to Israel, will address the Knesset

The U.S. president spoke with the prime minister following Israel and Hamas’ agreement on the first stage of his plan. As Ynet revealed Wednesday, Trump will arrive in Israel after the deal’s signing, accepting Netanyahu’s invitation to speak before the Knesset. “They congratulated each other on a historic achievement,” an Israeli official said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke overnight Wednesday with U.S. President Donald Trump, who, according to a source familiar with the details, will arrive in Israel on Sunday following the signing of the deal, as Ynet first reported Wednesday afternoon. During the conversation, Netanyahu invited Trump to address the Israeli Knesset, a speech expected to take place during the president’s visit.

“The two held a very emotional and warm conversation, congratulating each other on the historic achievement of signing the agreement for the release of all the hostages,” the Prime Minister’s Office said. “The prime minister thanked President Trump for all his efforts and global leadership, and President Trump praised the prime minister for his determined leadership and the actions he led. The two agreed to continue their close cooperation.”

The conversation between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump took place shortly after Trump announced overnight that Israel and Hamas had signed the first phase of his plan for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed the first phase of our peace plan. This means that all the hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw its forces to the agreed line — as a first step toward a strong, stable and lasting peace.” He added: “All sides will be treated fairly! This is a great day for the Arab and Muslim world, for Israel, for all surrounding countries, and for the United States of America. We thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkey who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedented event possible. Blessed are the peacemakers!”

Netanyahu responded: “Through steadfast determination, powerful military action, and the great efforts of our dear friend and ally, President Trump, we have reached this critical turning point. I thank President Trump for his leadership, partnership, and unwavering commitment to Israel’s security and the freedom of our hostages. God bless Israel, God bless America, and God bless our great alliance.” Opposition leader Yair Lapid also welcomed the deal, writing overnight: “We’re holding our breath for our children. Thank you, President Trump. The sons will return to their borders.”

Hamas confirmed the agreement as well, expressing gratitude to Trump and to the Arab and Muslim countries involved. The group’s statement called on the international community to ensure that Israel abides by the terms of the deal. According to the Associated Press, the release of 20 living hostages is expected by Sunday, with Israeli officials saying it could happen as early as Saturday. All releases will occur in a single stage. Regarding the bodies of the deceased hostages, Hamas pledged to return those whose locations are known with certainty, though the group claimed it does not know the whereabouts of nine out of 28. A source familiar with the details added that Hamas also agreed to refrain from holding public ceremonies marking the hostages’ release.

Pedos get all the breaks downunder - make him live and suffer to the end!

Paedophile dying wish to have victims' photo at his bedside is granted after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer

Daniel Hume served seven years of a 30 year sentence

Convicted paedophile was diagnosed with terminal cancer

His application for voluntary assisted dying was approved

A convicted paedophile who molested his own daughter was granted his dying wish to have a family photo by his bedside before he died.

Daniel Hume, 55, was sentenced to 30 years behind bars for multiple offences including sex charges and indecent assault against 14 victims.

He served just seven years of his sentence, when, suffering from terminal throat cancer, his application for Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) was granted.

VAD in NSW is a legal end-of-life option that allows eligible individuals to request medical assistance to die, typically by taking a prescribed medication.

Hume became the first prisoner in NSW to be approved for the controversial scheme and died in palliative care at Cessnock Hospital on August 28.

His mother brought the family photo into the hospital, which was not checked by security guards, and placed it beside her son's bed.

The photo included two of Hume's victims - his daughter Neveah Jett, now 27, and her sister - who were both being abused at the time the picture was taken.

'It makes me feel sick to my stomach he was allowed to look at me while he died,' Ms Jett told 9News.
