On Saturday, Oct. 11, the governing board of the Republican Party of Texas may begin the process to remove some of its own lawmakers from the ballot next year.
The State Republican Executive Committee, consisting of 64 members, will decide whether ten lawmakers should be censured and kicked off the Republican primary ballot in the March 2026 primary election.
If the state partyโs governing board censures them this weekend, it will allow their local Republican parties to keep them off the ballot for two years, according to Party Chair Abraham George.
