Crypto trader found dead in Lamborghini in Kyiv

A Ukrainian crypto trader has been found dead in Kyiv in the wake of a market crash, with officials now treating the incident as a possible suicide, according to local police.

Konstantin Galich (better known as Kostya Kudo) was found inside a Lamborghini Urus in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv Oct. 11 with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to police reports, a firearm registered to him was also at the scene.

A statement shared on the Kyiv Police Department’s Telegram channel said the focus was on establishing if the act was self-inflicted or involved foul play.

Criticising Zionism and the state of Israel is not antisemitic. That is the guts of the defence in the casebrought against two Sydney University academics in the Federal Court, which kicks off on Monday, 13 October.

This is a significant case for free speech in Australia. Critical even. The lawsuits, brought under Australia’s Racial Discrimination Act against academics Professor John Keane and Nick Riemer, are, in the opinion of this observer, lawfare; an attempt, as is the messy action against journalist Mary Kostakidis, to muzzle criticism of Israel and its atrocities against the Palestinians.

A mountain of costs

The interlocutory judgment in the Kostakidis trial foreshadows a long and difficult trial whose sheer costs may make it more of a contest of money than justice. More on this later.

The claim against Keane and Riemer is a similar story. It seeks to litigate the events and the myths of the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. And if the Judge rules that the examination of the events of October 7 is admissible, the case would have a global impact.

Clause 26 is unlikely to be true for a start.

Israel has never held an inquiry into October 7, and apparently for good reason. Wild Israeli claims of “40 babies beheaded” and “mass rapes” have been discredited – there is no forensic evidence of Israeli rape victims – and it is not known how many of the alleged “1,200 Israelis” mentioned in the claim were killed by the IDF.

Will this be tested in Court? If so, we are in for a long and expensive case.

It has been established in Israeli media and elsewhere that the Hannibal Directive was invoked that day. Under the Hannibal Directive, the IDF was ordered to prevent “at all costs” the abduction of Israeli civilians or soldiers, possibly leading to the death of a large number of Israeli civilians and IDF personnel in the area at the time.

Trump demands investigation into ‘Ukraine impeachment scam‘

The US president has also accused former vice chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff, of dishonesty and corruption

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he hopes “necessary authorities” are looking into Democratic Senator Adam Schiff for being “dishonest and corrupt.” The California lawmaker led two investigations into Trump in 2019 and 2021.

During Trump’s first term, House Democrats impeached him twice – first in December 2019 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, and again in January 2021 for incitement of insurrection following the January 6 Capitol riot. Back then, Schiff was a member of the House of Representatives that investigated the cases.

“The Ukraine Impeachment (of me!) Scam was a far bigger Illegal Hoax than Watergate. I sincerely hope the necessary authorities, including CONGRESS, are looking into this!” Trump wrote on social media.

Kremlin investment aide Kirill Dmitriev has called the US president’s statement important, adding that “Ukraine also hid [ex-President Joe] Biden’s corruption and campaigned” against Trump and his vice president, J.D. Vance.

Dmitriev recently said that Biden provoked the Ukraine conflict to hide his family’s corrupt dealings, commenting on a set of CIA documents declassified by the agency’s director, John Ratcliffe. According to those, in 2016 Biden asked the CIA to cover up a report about his family’s alleged business dealings in Ukraine.

According to CNN sources, the Trump administration is looking into charging Schiff with mortgage fraud, which he has denied.

Under the US Constitution, the House of Representatives can impeach the president by a simple majority vote. If that happens, the Senate then holds a trial. Conviction and removal from office requires a two-thirds vote in the Senate – a threshold not met in either of Trump’s previous impeachments.

Federal and local authorities rescued more than 30 missing children and uncovered multiple trafficking operations targeting vulnerable youth during a coordinated crackdown across Texas.

The effort, centered in San Antonio, led to arrests, felony warrants and several new investigations under a joint mission known as "Operation Lightning Bug."

Teams from the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) out of San Antonio, Del Rio, Midland, and Pecos joined forces with San Antonio Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit, Special Victims Unit, Street Crimes Unit and covert operatives. Together, they combed through Texas and national crime databases to identify at-risk juveniles and coordinate recovery efforts.
