On a historic day, Hamas has released all remaining Israeli hostages following two years of war. Twenty in total have been released, with an initial seven handed over in the first wave, followed by 13 more. Twenty-eight additional deceased captives are expected being returned, though there are reports that only four of the deceased have been transferred back to Israel at this point.

In return, 250 Palestinian prisoners serving long and life sentences are now being released from Israeli prisons as part of the first phase of the US-brokered deal. Additionally, over 1,700 Palestinians being held without charge are to be released.

Israel accuses Hamas of violating deal

West Jerusalem has accused Hamas of a “blatant breach” of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, as only four of the 28 bodies of the deceased Israelis are set to be returned today.

Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning to the Palestinian militant group, saying that “any delay or deliberate avoidance will be considered a gross violation of the agreement and will be responded to accordingly.”

The IDF has said the Red Cross has notified the military that it has collected two caskets holding the apparent bodies of slain hostages from Hamas in southern Gaza a short while ago.

The Red Cross is now bringing the caskets to IDF troops inside the enclave, where a small ceremony, led by a military rabbi, will be held. The remains will then be taken for identification.

All of the remaining living hostages in Gaza have been freed from Hamas captivity and are back in Israel after two years of war, but the remains of 28 deceased captives are expected to be returned in separate batches.

Meanwhile, some of the vans carrying Palestinian prisoners who have been released from Israeli prisons arrived a short while ago in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. Under an agreement brokered by Trump, Israel is releasing about 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and more than 1,700 who were detained since the beginning of the Gaza war in 2023, including all women and minors.

Israel will also allow humanitarian aid into the enclave to ease severe food shortages.

The 20-point ceasefire plan unveiled by Trump in late September also calls for a phased full Israeli pullout from Gaza, disarming of Hamas, and the creation of a transitional international administration. It envisions Gaza as a “deradicalized terror-free zone” with Hamas barred from governance.

The war between Israel and Hamas began October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants attacked Israel, killing about 1,200 people and seizing around 250 hostages. Israel’s operation in response has killed more than 67,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, and triggered a humanitarian crisis in the enclave, prompting the UN to accuse West Jerusalem of genocide.

Global leaders welcomed Trump’s plan and called for rapid implementation, urging both sides to comply with the humanitarian provisions.

Dutch Govt Suddenly Seizes Control Of China-Owned Chip Maker

As Trump cranks up (and then walks back) rhetoric towards China, the Dutch government just turned up the Beijing-baiting amplifier to '11'.

In a sudden and quite chocking move, The FT reports that the Dutch government has taken control of Chinese-owned semiconductor maker Nexperia, warning of risks to Europe’s economic security after alleging “serious governance shortcomings” at the company.

Nexperia, the European semiconductor unit of China’s Wingtech Technology Co. is a key supplier to the automotive and consumer electronics industries. The Sept. 30 court order invoked the Goods Availability Act for the first time, a piece of legislation enacted more than 70 years ago to ensure access to critical products in emergencies.

“The decision aims to prevent a situation in which the goods produced by Nexperia would become unavailable in an emergency,” the government said in a statement late on Sunday, against a backdrop of escalating trade tensions between China and the US and its allies.

The move escalates frictions between western countries and China over access to high-end technology such as advanced semiconductors and critical raw materials.

The Netherlands should “truly adhere to market principles and refrain from politicising economic and trade issues”, said spokesperson Lin Jian.

On Thursday, China placed sweeping restrictions on the exports of rare earths used in products from cars to wind turbines.

The Dutch ministry said it invoked the country’s Goods Availability Act because of “recent and acute serious governance shortcomings and actions” at Nexperia, which is based in the Netherlands and has been majority-owned by Chinese technology group Wingtech since 2019.

Palestinian issue isn’t resolved – Lavrov

The final settlement would require a two-state solution, Russia’s foreign minister has said

US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza is “the best thing on the table” at the moment, but it does not fully solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Hamas has released all 20 surviving hostages taken by the group during its incursion into Israel two years ago, and West Jerusalem has begun to free 2,000 Palestinian prisoners as part of Trump’s 20-point roadmap to end the Gaza war.

The US president has arrived in Israel for the event. Addressing the country’s national legislature, the Knesset, he said that the swap marked the beginning of “the golden age of the Middle East.”

Speaking about Trump’s plan with the Arabic media on Monday, Lavrov said that Russia has “repeatedly assessed [it] as the best thing on the negotiating table at the moment.”

It is essential “to stop the bloodshed as soon as possible and resolve the grave humanitarian problems” in Gaza, he said.

However, the minister noted that “of course, the Palestinian issue is not resolved by this.”

He stressed that Trump’s plan mainly focuses on the situation in Gaza, while only addressing the Palestinian statehood in the most general terms. The United States and Israel were two of only ten countries which flatly rejected a two-state solution at last month’s UN General Assembly meeting; the others included Tonga, Palau, Nauru and Micronesia.

The final settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would require “the creation of a single, territorially integral Palestinian state within the 1967 borders” in line with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, Lavrov said. Moscow remains committed to the two-state solution to the crisis, he added.

Trump’s plan acknowledges self-determination and statehood as “the aspiration” of the Palestinian people, but says that “the conditions [for it] may finally be in place… while Gaza re-development advances and when the PA [Palestinian authority] reform program is faithfully carried out.”

The State of Palestinian is currently supported by 157 out of the 193 members of the UN. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said repeatedly that the Palestinian state “will never happen.”

Tommy Robinson Reportedly Faces Terror Charge Trial For Refusing To Unlock His Phone

Tommy Robinson faced trial Monday for terrorism after reportedly refusing to unlock his phone, claiming to protect “journalist material.”

Robinson, 42, was stopped and detained by British police en route to Benidorm, Spain, while at the Channel Tunnel on the British side, according to The Independent, citing a court appearance. The incident took place back in July 2024 and he was charged under his real name, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, the BBC reported. He gave a not guilty plea at Westminster Magistrates Court.

Citing Schedule 7 of the 2000 Terrorism Act, officers requested that Robinson provide the PIN to unlock his phone, according to The Independent. “Not a chance, bruv,” he allegedly responded while saying he was a journalist and that his phone held information about “vulnerable girls.”

In a video shared Monday by Robinson, he claimed he was afraid that granting police access to his phone could result in them intentionally tampering with off-the-record sources. He alleged that police were involved in covering up activities by “Islamic grooming gangs” targeting young British girls.

Robinson has at least four prison terms in the last 20 years, ranging from contempt of court to assault and fraud, according to The Week.

Upon returning from a mid-hearing lunch break, Robinson told Urban News Scoop that the trial is a “total abuse of the legal system” claimed it was the second time he has been held unlawfully by the authorities in recent months. He also said he has not been able to rest due to 15 years of legal actions against him.

The court heard that Robinson was detained for driving alone in a Bentley SUV that was not under his name while carrying more than £13,000, according to The Independent.

Reuters reported that Elon Musk, a supporter of Robinson on X, was bankrolling his defense.

If convicted, Robinson could face a £2,500 fine and/or up to three months in jail, according to The Independent. He has denied the allegations against him.

The Terrorism Act allows police to stop individuals passing through a British port “to determine whether they may be involved or concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.” The individual detained can be held for as much as six hours, must answer queries and must turn over PINS or passwords for electronic devices. Failure to do so can lead to criminal charges.

60 Countries Banned This Pesticide. Trump Insists It’s Safe To Use In The U.S.

President Donald Trump’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has announced that the widely used pesticide atrazine does not pose an extinction risk to a single protected animal or plant, despite widespread contamination of the nation’s rivers, lakes and streams.

Tuesday’s announcement echoes recent events: Tough rhetoric on the dangers of atrazine in the initial Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission’s report was replaced with industry talking points in the follow-up report following outcry and heavy lobbying by corporate agriculture.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) initial assessment of atrazine in 2020 found that it was likely to harm more than 1,000 imperiled species.

“This announcement is an absolute joke,” said Nathan Donley, environmental health science director at the Center for Biological Diversity.

“You’d have an easier time convincing me that the government isn’t really shut down than persuading me that atrazine isn’t putting a single endangered species at risk of extinction.”

The Fish and Wildlife Service’s draft assessment mainly finds that the mitigations already proposed by the EPA are sufficient to prevent atrazine-induced extinction of endangered species.

Yet a Center for Biological Diversity analysis submitted to the Trump administration found that the EPA’s plan would still allow harmful levels of atrazine in more than 11,000 U.S. watersheds, which encompass about one-eighth of the entire landmass of the continental U.S.

“Despite rhetoric to the contrary, there is no better friend of atrazine than the Trump administration,” said Donley.

“Hiding behind the rhetoric of MAHA, a poison that’s likely to keep Americans sick for generations is moving forward full steam.”

Under the first Trump administration, the EPA discarded safety protections that were in place to protect young children from atrazine.

Atrazine, which is banned in 60 countries, is the second most widely used pesticide in the U.S. and one of the nation’s most controversial and widespread pesticide water contaminants. It is a known hormone-disrupting pesticide linked to birth defects, multiple cancers, and fertility problems like low sperm quality and irregular menstrual cycles.

The EPA is reassessing the safety of atrazine because that is required every 15 years for each EPA-approved pesticide.

The Fish and Wildlife Service’s draft assessment stems from a legal agreement with the Center for Biological Diversity. The agreement ordered the agency to complete steps to reduce harm to endangered species by finalizing biological opinions for atrazine and simazine by March 31, 2026

“After hearing of the spy scandal, a Senior Republican said to me ‘we don’t want the five eyes to become six’. This is very serious.”

London’s Sunday Times also reported concerns in Washington, with an unnamed senior Trump administration official being quoted as saying: “The United States has been warning allies about the Chinese threat to our combined national security since President Trump first came into office in 2017.

“The U.S. government exercises extreme caution in sharing information with foreign governments subject to adversarial coercion and influence. We are especially careful in jurisdictions where our adversaries can act with impunity.”

Congressional Republicans have urged for the case to be reopened, including China Committee Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI), who chairs the House of Representatives’ China committee, said: “As a target of [Chinese Communist Party] espionage, it is my hope that the UK government will not allow this case to falter and will take the steps necessary to ensure a clear message is sent and proper justice is served.”

After robbing EU taxpayers, Zelensky uses blackmail to get inside the Bloc

Since the United States-led NATO proxy war against Russia erupted in February 2022, the European Union has doled out $216 billion in aid to Ukraine. That’s equivalent to €186 billion, according to the EU’s latest official count. The true figure is likely to be even more.

The United States has given a similar amount to Ukraine. All paid for by taxpayers.

That’s about $400 billion total in three years, with the EU promising more over the next few years.

To put this in perspective, the EU aid to Ukraine is multiples more than all of the 27 member nations have received – combined – from the bloc’s collective budget and administration. According to Euronews reporting, some of the biggest recipients of EU subsidies each year are Germany (€14 bn), France (€16.5 bn), and Poland (€14 bn). Some of the smaller recipient countries are Austria, Denmark, and Ireland (around €2 bn).

That means Ukraine has received heaps more than all of the EU members combined.

Get your head around that. Ukraine, which is not a member of the European Union, is receiving manifold what actual member states are receiving. And you wonder why people in France are angrily taking to the streets because their shambolic government wants to cut pensions and other social welfare services to save money. Elsewhere, European governments are collapsing from unsustainable debt. And, at the same time, European citizens are constantly being lectured that their states need to spend more and more money on the NATO alliance, even to the insulting point of having to accept the cutting of social benefits and public services.

Ukraine and its corrupt Kiev regime of NeoNazis has bled Europe dry. The so-called president, Vladimir Zelensky (who canceled elections last year, so he’s not really a legitimate president), is reported to be funneling €50 million a month to overseas funds for his retirement while his wife goes luxury shopping in New York and Paris. Other members of the regime, like former prime minister and now “defense” minister Denys Shmyhal, are also reportedly up to their eyes in corruption, siphoning off billions in the military aid that Western taxpayers have paid for.

This week, Zelensky took his brassneckery to new levels – if that’s possible. He is demanding that Ukraine be made a member of the EU, and he wants to change the rules of the bloc to speed up the process. The EU has granted Ukraine (and Moldova) a fast-track path to membership, but, to its credit, Hungary has objected to this.

Israeli Officials Are Openly Saying They Plan to Resume Attacks On Gaza

Israel’s top officials are openly declaring that they intend to terminate the Gaza ceasefire after they get their hostages back.

Defense Minister Israel Katz has posted a tweet in Hebrew which machine translates as follows:

“Israel’s great challenge after the phase of returning the hostages will be the destruction of all of Hamas’s terror tunnels in Gaza, directly by the IDF and through the international mechanism to be established under the leadership and supervision of the United States. This is the primary significance of implementing the agreed-upon principle of demilitarizing Gaza and neutralizing Hamas of its weapons. I have instructed the IDF to prepare for carrying out the mission.”

Hamas has not agreed to any demilitarization or destruction of its tunnels. There is no way to demilitarize Gaza and neutralize Hamas of its weapons against their will without continued warfare, something Israel has demonstrated it cannot do without killing shocking numbers of civilians.

Katz’s comments echo the public statements of Prime Minister Netanyahu, who said in a televised speech on Friday that “Hamas will be disarmed and Gaza will be demilitarized,” and that if Hamas doesn’t disarm voluntarily then “it will be achieved the hard way.”

In another statement Netanyahu said, “We have achieved tremendous victories but the campaign is not over; part of our enemies are trying to recover.”

Israeli outlet YNet reports that Israel is planning to resume its blockade and prevent reconstruction if all the bodies of the deceased captives are not returned, when Israel already knows that Hamas probably won’t be able to locate all the bodies of deceased Israeli captives due to the intensity of the Israeli bombing campaign over the last two years.

“If Hamas does not cooperate with the return process, and Israel suspects that it is deliberately hiding the bodies in order to preserve them as a bargaining chip, it is expected to impose a series of sanctions on it — including preventing the reconstruction of the Strip, the entry of caravans, the opening of bakeries and the entry of civilian equipment,” Ynet reports.

In a recent article titled “Israel assesses Hamas may not be able to return all remaining dead hostages,” CNN reports that “Sources say the Israeli government is aware that Hamas may not know the location of, or is unable to retrieve, the remains of some of the 28 remaining deceased hostages.”

As noted by Shaiel Ben-Ephraim, these two pieces of information would seem to indicate that Israel is planning to use the unreturned bodies as a pretext to break the ceasefire.
