Israeli security forces pay their respects as the convoy carrying the bodies of four hostages arrives at the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv, on October 13, 2025 (Dor Pazuelo/Flash90)

The bodies of the four hostages Hamas returned to Israel last night have been identified by forensic experts, and their families have been notified, the military says.

The IDF says its representatives notified the families of Guy Illouz, 26, Nepal national Bipin Joshi, 23, and two other hostages whose names will be published later, that their bodies were returned.

Hamas yesterday said it had also returned the bodies of Yossi Sharabi and IDF officer Cpt. Daniel Perez.

According to the military, citing intelligence information, Illouz was wounded and kidnapped alive by Hamas terrorists near the Tel Gama area on the Gaza border, after fleeing the Nova party near Re’im on the morning of October 7, 2023.

Illouz died of his wounds during his captivity in Gaza after not receiving medical treatment, the IDF says.

Joshi, a Nepali agricultural student whose death had not been formally confirmed by Israel until now, was abducted from a bomb shelter at Kibbutz Alumim.

The IDF says it assesses that he was murdered in captivity during the first months of the war.

Final conclusions will be determined once the Abu Kabir forensic institute completes examinations into the circumstances of their deaths, the IDF adds.

The military again repeats that “Hamas is required to abide by the agreement and make the necessary efforts to return all the bodies,” after the terror group returned only the bodies of four of the 28 dead hostages yesterday.

IDF: 5 Palestinians killed in Gaza City had crossed ceasefire line and neared troops

By EMANUEL FABIAN

The IDF says the five Palestinian suspects who were killed after approaching forces in Gaza City’s eastern Shejaiya neighborhood this morninghad crossed the so-called Yellow Line, to which the military withdrew as part of the ceasefire.

Attempts were made to disperse the suspects, and after they refused to, the IDF says it carried out fire to “remove the threat.”

The army denies reports that the suspects or other gunmen had managed to breach an army encampment in the area.

The IDF calls on Gaza residents to follow its instructions and not to approach the troops deployed in the area,” the military adds.

Mother of freed hostage Maxim Herkin: ‘He doesn’t talk about what happened in those 2 years’

Maxim Herkin is reunited with family after he was released from Hamas captivity in Gaza on October 13, 2025 (IDF)

Maxim Herkin is reunited with family after he was released from Hamas captivity in Gaza on October 13, 2025 (IDF)

The mother of released hostage Maxim Herkin says that her son is very weak and has not told her about his two years held in captivity by terrorists in Gaza.

“My life has come back to me. I slept for the first time,” Natasha tells Channel 12. “He is very weak. He has lost a lot of weight. He doesn’t talk at all about what happened in those two years.”

She says that she had been afraid to campaign for his release.

He added: “I was afraid to speak, he [had served in the IDF in the past as] an officer, I was afraid they would take revenge on him.”

Herkin, a dual Russian-Israeli citizen, who was 35 at the time of his abduction, has a three-year-old daughter, and was the primary provider for his mother and 11-year-old brother. He attended the Nova festival by chance, invited by friends at the last minute. It was the first time he had gone to a rave.

Dani, the father of freed hostage Omri Miran, tells the Kan public broadcaster about his emotional reunion with his son.

It was the strongest hug I could ever give a human being. The first words I said to him were ‘I love you, I missed you,’ and he replied, ‘Dad, me too.'”

Omri Miran, who was taken from Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7, 2023, was reunited yesterday with his father, his wife Lishay Miran-Lavi, and his daughters Roni, 4, and Alma, 2.

Mamdani’s far-left DSA condemns ceasefire, backs Palestinian ‘resistance’

By LUKE TRESS

The Democratic Socialists of America, the far-left party of New York City mayoral frontrunner ZohranMamdani, criticizes the Gaza ceasefire.

“The Palestinian resistance announced that a ceasefire agreement has been reached and would entail the end of this intensified stage of the genocide,” the national DSA says in a statement. “This will not end Israel’s assault on the Palestinian people or the theft and occupation of Palestinian lands.A conditional ceasefire agreement does not wash the hands of the ruling class.”

The party “welcomes the relief” for Palestinians and expresses its “strongest solidarity to our comrades in Palestine,” but the statement is mostly critical. The statement does not mention the hostages or Hamas.

“DSA harbors no illusions that Israel will honor any negotiated agreement that preserves Palestinian life or self-determination. Past ceasefires only slowed the carnage, and Israel continued military action with impunity,” the statement says.

“DSA stands for the full freedoms and self-determination of the Palestinian people including the end of Israel’s colonization and occupation of all Arab lands, equality, and the right of all refugees to return to their homes and properties,” the party says.

The DSA says it backs the Thawabit, the Palestinian principles that uphold “Palestinians’ rights to resist occupation.”

The group vows to continue protests “to end US complicity in Israel’s genocide and apartheid.”

Mamdani’s own statement is also critical of Israel.

“Today’s scenes of Israelis and Palestinians are profoundly moving: Israeli hostages being freed and families reunited after years of fear, uncertainty, and torture; the first days in Gaza without relentless Israeli bombardment of Palestinians as families return to rubble and loved ones freed from detention,” he says.

“We have watched as our tax dollars have funded a genocide. The moral and human cost will be a lasting stain and requires accountability and real examination of our collective conscience and our government’s policies,” Mamdani says. (Fuck off you radical, insane rich kid, send your money if you are so concerned. A thank you to President Trump is appropriate now!)

Whoopi Goldberg Gets Bad News From ABC

JAMES CONRAD

UPDATED: SEPTEMBER 25, 2025

Earlier this month, we reported that Whoopi Goldberg had shocked her fans when she claimed that she can’t “afford” to retire. This was surprising to many, as Goldberg makes $8 million a year co-hosting the ABC talk show The View. She also has an estimated net worth of between $30 million and $60 million.

Now, this has backfired on Goldberg in a big way. Indeed, according to insiders, ABC executives are fuming with Goldberg about this rant. In fact, it seems that this might just be the last straw for Goldberg when it comes to her relationship with ABC.

North Carolina Republicans announce plans to vote on a new congressional map

The move is part of a nationwide mid-decade redistricting effort by the GOP to protect its narrow House majority in next year's midterm elections.

Oct. 13, 2025, 5:03 PM EDT

By Jane C. Timm

North Carolina Republican lawmakers announced plans Monday to redraw their state's congressional map, part of a nationwide redistricting effort aimed at shoring up the party's narrow majority in the U.S. House ahead of next year's midterm elections.

“President Trump earned a clear mandate from the voters of North Carolina and the rest of the country, and we intend to defend it by drawing an additional Republican Congressional seat,” North Carolina House Speaker Destin Hall said in a statement.

Under North Carolina's current map, Republicans control 10 House seats to Democrats' four. The 1st Congressional District, which is represented by Democratic Rep. Don Davis and is the most competitive seat in the state, is seen as a potential target.

In a joint statement, North Carolina’s Republican legislative leaders said they anticipate convening next week to consider a new map.Gov. Josh Stein, a Democrat, does not have veto power over the maps.

The decision is the latest in an aggressive and unusual mid-decade redistricting cycle around the country. Redistricting typically occurs after once-a-decade Census results are released.

It started in Texas, when Trump successfully urged state Republicans to draw a new map that could net the party up to five new House seats. In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democratic lawmakers responded with new district lines designed to blunt the impact of Texas' map. The California map still needs to be approved by voters next month.

“We are doing everything we can to protect President Trump’s agenda, which means safeguarding Republican control of Congress. Picking up where Texas left off, we will hold votes in our =October session to redraw North Carolina’s congressional map to ensure Gavin Newsom doesn’t decide the congressional majority==,” said state Senate Leader Phil Berger in a statement.

North Carolina Democrats protested the move shortly after it was announced.

Poll indicates growing challenge to Zelensky’s leadership

A second senior military figure is emerging as a potential challenger to the Ukrainian leader

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky would be defeated in a presidential vote by military intelligence chief Kirill Budanovas well as former armed forcescommander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny, a new poll has suggested.

Zelensky has repeatedly ruled out holding elections in the country, citing martial law imposed due to the conflict with Russia.

According to a survey released on Monday, conducted by the Kiev-based pollster RATE1 among 1,200 respondents in early October,Zelensky’s political viability continues to wane.

In a scenario pitting Zelensky directly against Budanov, 33% of respondents favored the military intelligence chief as opposed to 32.5% for Zelensky.

In a head-to-head between Zelensky and Zaluzhny,42.6% of voters said they would back the retired general, who is now serving as Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK,while only 26.3% would support the incumbent leader. A direct race between Zaluzhny and Budanov would give the former a decisive lead, with 44.5% to 22%.

In a broader first-round scenario featuring multiple candidates, Zelensky would still lead among decided voters but with less than one-third of total support, the survey indicated.

Zelensky’s presidential term expired last year, but he remains in power under martial law. The Ukrainian Constitution mandates that presidential authority should transfer to the parliamentary speaker under such circumstances. Russia has said Zelensky is illegitimate.

Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump called the Ukrainian leader a “dictator without elections.” Speculation in the media suggests that Zelensky’s team is quietly preparing for a potential return to the polls, even though he has suggested he would not seek reelection once the conflict with Russia is over.

Neither Zaluzhny nor Budanov has officially declared political ambitions, maintaining that the conflict with Russia must first be resolved.

Trump says he may not go to heaven

The US president said he was unsure that resolving the war in Gaza would be enough to earn him a ticket

US President Donald Trump has suggested that it is unlikely he will end up in heaven despite his efforts to mediate peace between Israel and Hamas.

During Trump’s flight aboard Air Force One to Israel on Sunday, Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked the president whether ending the war in Gaza would help him get into heaven.

“I’m being a little cute,” Trump said, smiling and chuckling. “I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven. I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound. I may be in heaven right now as we fly on Air Force One. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven, but I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people,” he added.

Trump then boasted about his negotiating skills, claiming that the conflict between Israel and Hamas would be “the eighth war that I’ve solved.”

On Monday, Hamas freed the 20 remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. The Israeli army earlier halted offensive operations and withdrew from parts of the Gaza Strip.

Later that day,Trump and the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye signed a declarationin Sharm el-Sheikh, in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, endorsing the ceasefire and a path toward “comprehensive and durable peace arrangements.”

Trump’s 20-point peace plan calls for Gaza to become a “deradicalized terror-free zone.”AlthoughHamas agreed to the prisoner swap outlined in the plan, it refused to disarm or hand over power in the Palestinian enclave.

Israel has so far not committed to a full withdrawalfrom the strip.

Trump was raised Presbyterian and has had a particularly strong base of support among Evangelical Christians throughout his political career.

Why did he say that he won’t go to heaven, anons? Being humble or being serious?

‘They disappeared my hair’ – Trump

The US president has bemoaned a TIME magazine cover photo celebrating his role in the Gaza ceasefire deal

US President Donald Trump has taken issue with TIME magazine’s latest cover image accompanying a story lauding his role in securing a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

The magazine’s Monday edition described the Gaza truce as Trump’s “triumph,” featuring a low-angle portrait of him. While acknowledging that the story itself was “relatively good,” Trump blasted the imageon Truth Social early on Tuesday, stating it “may be the Worst of All Time.”

They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my headthat looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one.Really weird!” he wrote. (Time also over emphasized his neck!)

Trump has frequently accused American media outlets of bias, arguing that most coverage unfairly emphasizes criticism of his presidency.

The ceasefire agreement, endorsed at an international conference in Egypt on Monday, was designed to halt hostilities triggered by the October 7, 2023 Hamas incursion into southern Israel.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that his foreign policy record since returning to office in January merits a Nobel Peace Prize. This year’s award, however, went to Venezuelan opposition politician Maria Corina Machado.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described Trump’s peace initiatives as genuine and undeniable, expressing hope that Washington’s mediation efforts could eventually help resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Moscow maintains that Kiev’s hardline stance, reinforced by European NATO states, remains the main obstacle to any settlement.

Macron explains his tense handshake with Trump

Updated 12:56 PM EDT, Mon May 29, 2017

Washington CNN —

French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that there was indeed a deeper significance to the prolonged handshake he shared with US President Donald Trump in Brussels.

“My handshake with him, it’s not innocent,” Macron told the Journal du Dimanche in an interview published Sunday.“It’s not the alpha and the omega of politics, but a moment of truth.”(Macron can’t tell the truth, what BS)

The two newly-minted leaders met in Brussels on Thursday and shook hands in full view of the press.

Pool reporter Phillip Rucker of the Washington Post, who was in the room, described it:

“They shook hands for an extended period of time. Each president gripped the other’s hand with considerable intensity, their knuckles turning white and their jaws clenching and faces tightening.”

Steve Holland, who covers the White House for Reuters, tweeted this: “The photogs noticed that Trump and Macron were gripping their hands hard… Trump seems to just want his hand back.”

On at least one, and maybe two, occasions during the tug of war Trump tries to pull away and Macron just keeps holding on.

I think I know why Trump said you hurt me. Meloni and Starmer were the only European leaders behind Trump. Earlier Trump called out and pointed out Macron was in the audience. Trump said to the crowd and Macron, that was unusual because you like to get attention.

So Trump wanted Macron behind him because there was not enough European support, except for goofy Starmer and disinterested Meloni

Russia ready for Ukraine settlement – Kremlin

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Moscow remains open to peace talks but is compelled to continue its military operation

Russia ready for Ukraine settlement – Kremlin

Moscow remains open to a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflictbut hostilities will continue for as long as Kiev continues to stall negotiations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

He was responding to French President Emmanuel Macron, who recently warned in a post on X that Russia would “have to pay the price” if it refused to demonstrate a readiness to come to the negotiating table.

Speaking to reporters on Monday,Peskov stressed that Moscow has always preferred a diplomatic solution to the crisis, but noted that Kiev, with the backing of its Western allies, continues to reject all of Russia’s proposals.

“Russia is ready for a peaceful settlement,” Peskov said, emphasizing that Moscow’s military campaign continues “due to the lack of alternatives.” He asserted that Russia will ultimately accomplish its stated objectives and safeguard its national security interests.

His comments come ahead of an expected meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky, reportedly scheduled for Friday in Washington.

Peskov said Russia appreciates Trump’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully and hopes that “the US influence and the diplomatic skills of President Trump’s envoys will help encourage the Ukrainianside to be more proactive and more prepared for the peace process.”

Russia has consistently reiterated its readiness for peace talks with Ukraine. Both sides were close to reaching an agreement in Istanbul in early 2022, but, according to Moscow, Kiev withdrew after its Western backers encouraged it to continue fighting.

Russian officials have since maintained that neither Kiev nor its European backers are genuinely interested in ending the hostilities, accusing them of stalling negotiations by presenting ever-shifting conditions and disregarding its proposals.

Ukraine’s top general admits ‘difficult’ battlefield situation

The Russian military has been steadily pushing back Kiev’s forces along the entire front line in recent months

The battlefield situation for Kiev’s forces remains “difficult,” Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrsky has admitted, as Russian troops continue to make advances along several sectors across the front line.

Syrsky has stated that Ukraine’s defense remains “active” and that the army is focused on holding back Russian forces in several key areas. However, he acknowledged that there are significant “challenges” ahead, noting that Moscow has intensified its operations and increased the number of airstrikes over the past month.

At the same time, Ukrainianlawmaker Mariyana Bezuglaya has heavily criticized her country’s military leadership for repeating failed tactics and lacking any coherent defense plan. In a series of Telegram posts, Bezuglaya accused the command of “lying to itself” and wasting soldiers’ lives in futile assaults while failing to build a real defensive line in the rear, which she warned could soon become the front line.

Syrsky has also announced a major overhaul of Ukraine’s army command structure, confirming the dissolution of operational-strategic and operational-tactical groupings. The general said the move aims to simplify management and improve efficiency.

However, Vladimir Rogov, a member of Russia’s Civic Chamber, has claimed that Syrsky’s restructuring is actually part of aninternal power struggle within Ukraine’s command, which he described as a “jar of spiders gnawing at each other.”

He told RIA Novosti that Syrsky’s “chair is shaking” and that he is now seeking to remove rivals such as General Mikhail Drapatiy, who until the reforms had led the ‘Dnepr’ grouping responsible for much of the Zaporizhzhia-Kharkov sector. ==Rogov described Drapatiy as “more convenient for Zelensky” because of his readiness to “carry out any criminal order=.”

Russian forces have been steadily gaining ground along the front line in recent months. Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov has said Moscow’s troops are advancing in nearly all directions, while Ukrainian units are focusing on crisis points to slow the offensive.Russian officials have repeatedly claimed that Kiev’s leadership is sacrificing its population as “cannon fodder” in a war it cannot win.

(I agree they are just keeping the war going without much success. So Bidan and Zelensky stating they will fight to the last Ukrainian, was and is true. Zelensky will invite Africans to come and fight when they have no more.)

Mainstream media rejects Pentagon’s new press rules

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has sent a ‘goodbye’ emoji to the outlets protesting his policy

Media outlets including the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN, AP, and Reuters have saidtheir journalists will not sign new Pentagon press access rules introduced by US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

Under the updated policy, journalists could be deemed “a security or safety risk” if they reach out to employees at the recently renamed Department of War for sensitive information to be used in their reporting on the US military. The media workers have been told by the Pentagon to sign the new rules by Tuesday or give up their press passes on Wednesday.

The Washington Post said in a statement on Monday thatthe proposed rules “undercut First Amendment protections by placing unnecessary constraints” on journalists. The New York Times accused the Pentagon of threatening to punish reporters for “ordinary news gathering.”

The Wall Street Journal, CNN, AP, Reuters, NPR, and The Atlantic are also among those to reject the Pentagon’s demand.

Broadcaster Newsmax, which is seen as supportive of the administration of US President Donald Trump, said that “we believe the requirements are unnecessary and onerous and hope that the Pentagon with review the matter further.”

Most of the protesting outlets said their journalists will continue to cover the US military thoroughly even if they lose their press credentials.

Hegseth responded to the refusal to sign the new policy by posting a ‘goodbye’ emoji on X under the statements by the Washington Post, NYT, and other media organizations.

The secretary of war said on Monday that therules were about making sure that “press no longer roams free… wear visible badge… [and] no longer permitted to solicit criminal acts.”

The Pentagon Press Association, which represents reporters working at the Department of War, said last weekthat Hegseth has been “systematically limiting access to information about the US military” since the arrival of the Trump administration at the White House.

Hegseth previously removed NBC News, the NYT, and Politico from their office spaces at the Pentagon, although their journalists maintained access to the building. He also banned reporters from accessing most hallways at the Department of War’s headquarters without an official escort.

Military expert estimates how many US Tomahawks can be sent to Ukraine

Washington can send no more than 50 of the missiles to Kiev, which is unlikely to alter the outcome of the conflict, an analyst has told FT

The White House can only provide between 20 and 50 Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, which would have a limited impact on the battlefield, a military analyst told the Financial Times on Monday.

Kiev has repeatedly urged Washington to supply the weapons, hoping they could help shift the momentum in Ukraine’s favor.Moscow has repeatedly stated that no arms can fundamentally alter the course of the conflict.

Earlier this week,US President Donald Trump called the potential transfer a “step of aggression” toward Russia, but also warned that he would “send them Tomahawks, if this war is not going to get settled.”

Tomahawk missiles are estimated to cost $1.3 million each and have a range of up to 2,500 km, or about 1,550 miles. =That range would, in theory, allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory, including Moscow and beyond.

Washington could spare 20 to 50 Tomahawks for Ukraine,Stacie Pettyjohn, directorof the defense program at the Center for a New American Security, told FT, emphasizing that such a delivery “will not decisively shift the dynamics” of the conflict.

In response to reports of a possible missile transfer, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated thatMoscow’s response “would be the strengthening of the Russian Federation’s air defenses.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that operating Tomahawks would likelyrequire the direct involvement of US military specialists, given the complexity of the system.

Russian officials have repeatedly said thatneither Kiev nor its Western backers appear to be genuinely interested in peace, but keep fueling the conflict by expanding weapons deliveries and encouraging continued military confrontation.

(Is anyone convinced Trump would actually send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine? I highly doubt this. And if they do, then Americans have to do it in Ukraine. Making us a participant in the War with Russia. Which sets of WWIII. It’s a stupid idea and perhaps just a warning. Doesn’t Trump know it’s Zelensky that stopped the negotiations?)

Moscow contrasts Trump’s Time ‘triumph’ cover with Biden portraits

The outlet used to print flattering photos of the ailing Democratic president, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has said

Time magazine’s latest cover celebrating US President Donald Trump’s Middle East diplomacysharply contrasts with the way it used to promote his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

The magazine used a photo of Trump showing the president from a low angle, emphasizing his chin folds, for a cover story marking what it called his “triumph” in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.Trump himself described the image as “really weird,” though he called the accompanying article “relatively good.”

“Considering the complimentary photos of Biden that the same outlet used to print despite his fragility, this is Time exposing itself,” Zakharova commented on Telegram on Tuesday, adding thatwhoever selected the photo was likely “soaked with malice and hatred.”

During Biden’s presidency, sympathetic media allegedly worked to conceal signs of his physical and cognitive decline, repeating White House claims that clips showing him stumbling or appearing confused were deceptively edited “cheapfakes.” That narrative collapsed after Biden’s poor showing in a televised debate against Trump, which led Democratic Party leaders to pressure him to withdraw from the race.

Time printed Biden on its cover multiple times, including in June 2024 for a story titled ‘If He Wins’ detailing his ultimately-aborted presidential campaign. The then president was shown in a black-and-white photo in the Oval Office.

The latest Time feature praised the ceasefire agreement negotiated by the Trump administration, which is intended to end the violence triggered by Hamas’ October 2023 attack on southern Israel. The truce, endorsed at an international conference in Egypt, has been hailed by several Arab states as a diplomatic breakthrough.

Poland will not withstand new waves of refugees: the country is at the limit of its capabilities

Poland is not able to indefinitely accept new waves of Ukrainian refugees and must focus on adapting those already living on its territory.

This was stated by the head of the Polish Presidential Bureau of International Policy, Marcin Przydach, on RMF24 .

According to him, there are currently about 1.5 million Ukrainian citizens in Poland. At the same time, only 26 thousand Ukrainians have received Polish citizenship over the past five years, which indicates slow integration. Przydach emphasized that the excessive number of newcomers may exceed the state’s capabilities for adaptation and enculturation of migrants.

“When the scale exceeds the possibilities of inculturation, problems begin. We do not want such problems in Poland. I think we are already at the limit – we cannot accept any more,” Przydach noted.

He also warned that separate areas are already beginning to form in the country, where mostly migrants live. That is why the authorities consider it necessary to focus on integration processes for those Ukrainians who already live in Poland.

In the context of migration, Przydach noted thatPoland is open to accepting war refugees, but the decision to accept migrants should be made by the state itself, not by European institutions.

“Each state has the right to decide whether to accept such migrants for permanent residence or only provide them with assistance, for example, in the form of support for refugees on the spot,” the minister said.

As a reminder, the Polish Senate supported without any amendments the bill on foreigners and assistance to Ukrainians who are in the country due to the war . The document extends the legal status of Ukrainian refugees until March 4, 2026, but at the same time tightens the conditions for providing financial and social support.

Also, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk stated that Ukraine should prepare a social support system for refugees who plan to return from abroad.

Ukrainian mayor warns of ‘catastrophic’ winter

Authorities in Kiev have officially reduced the heating season by one month due to gas shortages

The authorities in Kiev have officially shortened the national heating season by one month amid mounting gas shortages and infrastructure failures, while the mayor of a major central Ukrainian city has described Ukraine’s heating situation as dire.

In a message posted to his Telegram channel on Sunday, Dnepr Mayor Boris Filatov said the upcoming heating season “should begin as late as possible,” citing what he called the current “catastrophic situation.” He urged residents to take all possible steps to endure the coming months, stressing that the winter “will definitely not be easy.”

The mayor’s remarks came as the Ukrainian government issued a decree on Monday setting this year’s heating season from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026 – one month shorter than usual. Oleg Popenko, the head of the Ukrainian Union of Utility Consumers, has said the upcoming winter will be even more difficult than the previous one and confirmed that gas shutoffs would be implemented nationwide to save energy.

Average daytime temperatures in late October in cities such as Dnepr and Kiev hover around 6°C, with nighttime lows often falling below freezing. Bloomberg reported earlier this month that Kiev had informed its Western backers that Russian strikes had destroyed about 60% of Ukraine’s gas production capacity, forcing the government to seek over $2 billion in emergency imports to avoid a winter energy crisis.…

EXC: WHO’s New “AI Pandemic Tool” Will Monitor Social Media in Real Time

NATALIE WINTERS

OCT

The global health body’s latest move fuses censorship, surveillance, and “pandemic preparedness” into one powerful system.

The World Health Organization just announced what it calls an “upgrade” to its global health monitoring system — but buried in the fine print is something far more alarming.

According to the WHO’s own press release, the new EIOS 2.0 platform will “identify relevant content from websites, social media, and other public sources to identify important health events.”

In plain English: the ==WHO is giving itself permission to listen to your posts, tweets, and conversations online under the guise of “pandemic prevention.”

This isn’t about viruses anymore; It’s about information control.==

From Health to “Social Listening”

The WHO has long promoted something called “social listening,” which it defines as “the process of listening to and analyzing conversations and narratives” to understand people’s “attitudes, knowledge, beliefs and intentions.”

Read that again: an unelected global health bureaucracy now claims the authority to analyze citizens’ beliefs and intentions through their online speech.

This is not public health. It’s behavioral surveillance.

The Latest Announcement: WHO Upgrades Its Surveillance System

In its October 13 announcement, the WHO revealed it has “upgraded its Epidemic Intelligence from Open Sources (EIOS) system to boost global health security.”

According to the organization, the new system has been rebuilt “to process more sources, accommodate more users and allow new features to be added more quickly.” It also integrates artificial intelligence to automate “signal detection” — scanning everything from online news to radio broadcasts and, yes, social media posts.

The WHO boasts that the system will “identify relevant content from websites, social media and other public sources to identify important health events.”

They claim this makes the platform “more open, more agile and more inclusive,” but the reality is that it’s a global listening and scanning network, translating and processing social discourse through AI filters.

The new EIOS 2.0 system will be offered “free of charge” to member states and “eligible organizations,” complete with training, guides, and webinars. This means national governments around the world will now be plugged into a WHO-run surveillance infrastructure.

This is how the WHO’s “digital health” agenda expands its power: by embedding its algorithms directly into national information systems— turning “pandemic preparedness” into permanent data dependence on Geneva.

A Digital Takeover in the Name of “Security”

Under the banner of “global health security,” the WHO is quietly assembling the infrastructure of global censorship — merging artificial intelligence, social media monitoring, and centralized data pipelines.

In the past, they used public health to justify lockdowns and mask mandates. Now, they’re using “AI” to justify listening to your every word.

Their stated goal? To detect “health misinformation” before it spreads— which, in practice, means anything that challenges WHO narratives could be flagged, tracked, and censored in real time.

This is how the WHO plans to control the next pandemic — not just by telling countries what to do, but by deciding what citizens are allowed to say.

They failed to seize national sovereignty through pandemic treaties, so now they’re coming for it through technology and information control.

Once governments start relying on WHO’s AI system for “health intelligence,” they’ll be outsourcing not just their public health response — but their free speech policies — to a global bureaucracy based in Geneva.
