Ahead of the publication next week, Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre’s memoir is making headlines as excerpts of the book are being made public.

Besides the first salvo of revelations about disgraced British Prince Andrew, who surrendered his Royal titles including Duke of Yorn, a new explosive revelation sheds light on the Epstein trafficking ring.

Giuffre writes that she was ‘bloodied, beaten and raped’ by a ‘well-known prime minister’ in a series of brutal encounters.

The New York Post reported:

“In her posthumous memoir ‘Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice’, Giuffre recalled begging Epstein to step in after the unnamed politician forced her to beg for her life — but the pedophile coldly told her it was simply part of her job.

‘After the attack, I couldn’t stay a fool. Having been treated so brutally and then seeing Epstein’s callous reaction to how terrorized I felt, I had to accept that Epstein meted out praise merely as a manipulation to keep me subservient’, Giuffre wrote, according to an excerpt shared with The Post.”

In her book, Giuffre reportedly refers to her alleged rapist simply as the ‘Prime Minister’, saying she was afraid he would ‘seek to hurt her’ if she printed his name.

Sydney school urgently evacuated as police swarm on the campus following bomb scare

Emergency services have responded to an incident at an Islamic school on the corner of Canterbury Road and Haldon Street in Lakemba following reports of a bomb shortly after 10am.

Students and staff were evacuated to a safe location under police direction as Fire and Rescue NSW crews and specialist police units arrived at the scene.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command established an extensive exclusion zone, while members of the Riot Squad and bomb detection dogs conducted a detailed sweep of the premises.

Traffic in the surrounding area was heavily impacted, with Canterbury Road and adjoining streets closed to ensure public safety as authorities carried out their investigation.

Investigations into the source of the threat are ongoing.

Houthis detain UN staff in Yemen

The rebel group arrested 20 aid workers following a raid on a compound in Sanaa, a United Nations spokesman said

The Houthi rebels detained United Nations staffers in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Sunday, UN spokesman Jean Alam said.

The militant group previously accused aid workers of spying for the US and Israel, allegations the UN has denied.

Alam said that 20 employees of various UN agencies, including 16 foreign nationals, were detained during a raid on the organization’s compound in the Hada district. He added that 11 others were released after questioning.

AFP cited an unnamed UN official as saying that UNICEF’s envoy in Yemen, Peter Hawkins, is among those detained. AP reported that the Houthis confiscated all electronic devices, including computers and phones.

“The UN is in contact with the Houthis and other parties to resolve this serious situation as swiftly as possible, end the detention of all personnel, and restore full control over its facilities in Sanaa,” Alam said.

In a televised address on Saturday, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said the militants had dismantled what he described as a “dangerous espionage network” linked to the CIA and Mossad. He claimed that the agents used the UN World Food Programme and UNICEF as cover for “subversive operations.”

Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, dismissed the accusations as “dangerous and unacceptable” and called for the release of all aid workers.

The Houthis, who control a large portion of Yemen, have launched drones and missiles at Israel and attacked commercial shipping in the Red Sea. Israel, the US and UK have responded with airstrikes on Houthi-linked targets.

Commonwealth Bank staff reportedly in ‘panic mode’ after latest job cuts

A worker impacted by the latest round of job cuts at Australia’s biggest bank has said the news came as a “complete shock” and sent staff into “panic mode”.

Commonwealth Bank Australia (CBA) employees are reportedly in “panic mode” following the bank’s latest job cut announcement, with more than 100 staff impacted.

On Tuesday last week, CBA announced a further 108 job cuts across multiple Australian divisions.

This follows on from the 283 redundancies across the company’s technology and retail banking services team announced in June.

In October, following a review, the bank admitted it had offshored two jobs in India that had been axed in Australia, according to the Finance Sector Union (FSU).

The FSU also noted CBA had removed 30 online job adds “for roles in India that had the same job titles as roles being cut here”.

Speaking to news.com.au on the condition of anonymity, one of the CBA employees impacted by the latest round of job cuts said staff received “no warning” and it felt like it came “out of the blue”.

“It’s ridiculous. Everyone is in panic mode,” they said.

The staff member, who has been at the company for decades, said they were “devastated” after being told there was a restructure and their job was one of the ones that would “no longer be required”.
