"United Airlines 737 MAX pilot injured after the windshield cracked at 36,000 while flying from Denver to Los Angeles on Thursday.

"Reports have suggested the possibility of the aircraft being hit by falling space debris or a small meteorite, though this remains unconfirmed.

"Passengers were later rebooked on a replacement Boeing 737 MAX 9 to complete their journey to Los Angeles with a six-hour delay."

>More 737MAX problems. Built by DEI hires, so go figure.

Maybe … and it also seems clear something very hard smashed into it mid-flight, leaving sheared rivets and scorch marks. Second hand info, see oic here, claims the pilot said he saw something metal before impact.

"High above Moab, in southern Utah, the outer pane of the cockpit windshield shattered. The blow was strong enough to shear nearby rivets and send shards of glass flying across the flight deck.

"In photos shared online, the captain’s forearm appears bloodied, the result of lacerations consistent with flying glass.

"Tiny shards were reportedly scattered across the instrument panel. Scorch marks spiderwebbed outward from the point of impact, dark against the fractured laminate, a sign that whatever hit the glass left behind more than just cracks."
