The director of our small city food bank is pulling down $280K a year. His dozens of staff and administrators are all getting in the six-figures pay.

He spends most of his time at fund raisers, on TV receiving big donation checks, and flying to Austin to lobby for more funding (pay?).

I seriously doubt he or any of the associated dimwits volunteering as the grunts for the racket, are concerned about some schlep scheming food vouchers and scoring a few extra cans of green beans.

It's called USDA Govt Commodities food distributions. Grandma used to get it right off the trucks with the whole community getting the good quality foods. Commons were highly desirable and a nice treat. No paperwork or poverty required. Just go stand in line and get it.

But that was 50 years ago. Last I heard of govt commodities being distributed around here was in 2017 or 18. At the Guadalupe Center and only available to 'migrants.' Still pisses me off.
