I was at a trade show once. Company was doing a mock game quiz show. Asked me to be one of the contestants. Figured sure what the hell. Realized almost immediately the answer to every question was the company's name. The other contestant was a black guy. Couldn't seem to figure out how to answer the questions. I got to the point I felt sorry for him and started to delay answering the question hoping he was just slow on the buzzer. Nope.
Got myself a free clock radio. Afterward he was whining to the girl doing the "game show" asking for a participation prize. I just walked away.
Which is exactly the point PF was making.
What is the world that surrounds us now if not one of rampant soulless consumerism? But those in it are not allowed to see that, only when they come to a place like this are they finally shown the machine which surrounds them.
