French court hears Macron wife’s gender case

The defendants cited free expression over sharing jokes and conspiracy posts about Brigitte Macron’s identity

A French court has heard a case against people accused of spreading online rumors that Brigitte Macron was born male, in proceedings that revived a conspiracy theory long denied by France’s first lady.

The two-day trial in Paris – where ten defendants are accused of cyberbullying – was attended by Macron’s daughter, Tiphaine Auzieres, who testified in her mother’s absence, according to a Politico report on Tuesday.

The defendants, ranging from a computer scientist to a disabled man “who spends a lot of time on Twitter,” were accused of posting messages mocking Macron’s alleged gender, claiming she was born under her brother’s name, and spreading conspiracy theories about a media cover-up. In court, they cited free expression, saying the posts were intended as satire or part of public debate.

Auzieres was the only witness to take the stand, testifying that her mother could not ignore the constant rumors and that the claims had made it “impossible” for her to lead a normal life. She said Macron had become cautious about her public appearances.

The rumors about Emmanuel Macron’s wife surfaced in 2021, launched by two French women – an independent journalist and a self-proclaimed spiritual medium. Their Facebook posts and a YouTube interview spread widely, pushing the hashtag #JeanMichelTrogneux, which conspiracy theorists claimed was Brigitte Macron’s real name. Jean-Michel Trogneux is actually her brother. In court, Auzieres said she had seen her uncle recently and that he was “doing very well.”

Macron sued the two women the following year for defamation and privacy violation, winning compensation.

American commentator Candace Owens was also mentioned during the trial, with several defendants admitting they had shared her videos or been influenced by her posts. Owens is being sued by the Macrons in a separate case in Delaware, US, over spreading similar claims online.

A verdict in the Paris case is expected later on Tuesday.

The Macrons have been married since 2007 and have repeatedly faced questions about their relationship. They met when he was a student at the Lycée la Providence in Amiens, where she taught. Brigitte, 24 years his senior, has three children and seven grandchildren.

OpenAI Must Face Copyright Infringement Claim From Authors, Court Rules

OpenAI must face allegations of copyright infringement made by authors in a consolidated class action lawsuit, District Judge Sidney H. Stein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said in an Oct. 27 order.

“Defendants copied Plaintiffs’ works and then fed them into their ‘large language models’ or ‘LLMs,’ algorithms designed to generate human-like text responses to users’ prompts and queries. These algorithms are at the heart of Defendants’ massive commercial enterprise. And at the heart of these algorithms is systematic theft on a mass scale,” the lawsuit said.

OpenAI asked the court to dismiss the plaintiffs’ accusations of copyright infringement.

In the Oct. 27 order, Stein sided with the authors by denying the motion, observing that the allegations made by plaintiffs “satisfy the elements of a prima facie claim of infringement as to at least some outputs of ChatGPT.”

To train ChatGPT, OpenAI used datasets that included copyrighted words of the plaintiffs, the judge wrote. When prompted, ChatGPT can then generate accurate summaries of books authored by the plaintiffs.

In a court filing, OpenAI said plaintiffs failed to plausibly allege “substantial similarity” between their works and the content output by ChatGPT and that the complaint failed to cite even a single example of the alleged copyright infringement in ChatGPT’s outputs.

OpenAI argued that not all summaries of content qualify as infringement. For instance, summarizing the final chapter of “The Door” by Mary Roberts Rinehart as “the butler did it” cannot be considered as infringement of the author’s copyright, the company said.

Stein dismissed such arguments. For one, the complaint adequately alleges that OpenAI accessed plaintiffs’ works and the infringing outputs made by ChatGPT are based on the authors’ works, which satisfies the requirement of “actual copying,” he wrote.

California Allows Illegals to Not Only Vote but Also Oversee Elections

In small local elections, illegal aliens are already allowed to vote. In larger, statewide elections such as the gubernatorial race, citizenship is verified through an affidavit system—essentially an honor system. Now, California Governor Newsom has signed a bill into law that will allow illegal aliens to oversee elections. The Democratic counterargument is: “No, that’s a myth. This legislation makes elections more secure.”

In July 2018, San Francisco began allowing noncitizens, including those without legal status, to register and vote in local school board elections. The measure, approved by voters in a 2016 referendum, permits only parents, legal guardians, or caregivers of children under 19 to vote in school board races. The program, set to expire after 2022 unless renewed, was justified by supporters who noted that about one-third of children in San Francisco’s public schools have foreign-born parents.

Opponents, including Republican officials, argued that voting should remain an exclusive right of citizens. Newly eligible voters must use a separate registration form warning that their information may be shared with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and advising them to consult an immigration attorney before registering, a requirement that may deter participation. The issue also surfaced in the California governor’s race, drawing national attention and criticism from politicians who said it undermined the principle that only citizens should vote.

Similar initiatives exist in other U.S. municipalities. Takoma Park, Maryland, has allowed noncitizen voting for over two decades, and several neighboring communities have adopted comparable policies. Advocates say these measures give immigrant families a voice in education decisions; however, in the U.S., the right to vote is restricted to citizens, not green card holders and not illegal aliens.

In California, San Francisco remains the only city where noncitizens can currently vote in limited local elections. Proposition N, passed in 2016 with 54 percent support, allows noncitizen parents or caregivers with children in the San Francisco Unified School District to vote in school board elections only. Oakland voters approved a similar measure in 2022 with 67 percent support, but as of late 2024, it had not yet been implemented. Santa Ana voters, however, rejected Measure DD in November 2024, which would have permitted noncitizens to vote in all municipal elections.

Important clarifications: San Francisco’s law applies only to school board elections, and noncitizen voters must complete a separate registration process. Their information is maintained in an entirely separate voter file, there is no mixing with state or federal voter rolls.

Hmmm what to make of this????

Israeli Defense Firm Opens Regional Arm In UAE, First Since Abraham Accords

An Israeli state-owned defense company has set up a subsidiary to operate in the United Arab Emirates, in the first such move since Israel and Abu Dhabi normalized relations in 2020.

Controp Precision Technologies will establish and register the subsidiary in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, or ADGM, an economic zone in the Emirati capital. The Israeli defense ministry approved the move on Sunday, the Times of Israel reported.

The Abu Dhabi-based subsidiary will be Controp’s regional arm in the Gulf region, overseeing marketing, sales and maintenance of its electro-optical systems used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions across air, land and sea.

The Times of Israel reported that at a later stage, Controp will directly compete for defense tenders in the UAE and neighboring countries.

The UAE normalized ties with Israel under the Abraham Accords in September 2020. Since then, the two countries have strengthened economic and political ties. Trade of goods between Israel and the UAE totalled around $3.2bn in 2024, according to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics.

In January, Thirdeye Systems, an Israeli military supplier, sold a 30 percent stake to Emirati state-owned defense conglomerate Edge for $10m.

Relations became somewhat strained after the outbreak of the Gaza war, with the UAE offering occasional condemnations of Israeli actions. In September, Abu Dhabi described an Israeli attack on Hamas officials on Qatar as "treacherous", using unusually strong rhetoric.

Earlier this month, a number of Israeli defense companies were banned from the Dubai Airshow pending a "technical review".

Controp was founded in 1988 to develop and manufacture electro optical control systems for intelligence surveillance. Its camera systems are used in drones, helicopters, land vehicles, surveillance towers and vessels.

The investment in establishing the UAE subsidiary is estimated to cost up to $30m, according to the Times of Israel. The report added that the subsidiary would be managed by an Israeli citizen, and full control would remain in the hands of the Israeli parent company.

Clinton Judge Blocks 'King' Trump's Ability To Fire Federal Workers During Shutdown, Indefinitely

Today, a federal judge told the 'king' he can't fire federal workers during the shutdown, indefinitely.

In a Tuesday order, Judge Susan Illson (Clinton appointee) of the US District Court for the Northern District of California made an earlier temporary ruling permanent.

"Today's ruling is another victory for federal workers and our ongoing efforts to protect their jobs from an administration hellbent on illegally firing them," said Lee Saunders, President of AFSCME - a federal workers union.

The ruling comes after the Office of Management and Budget head Russel Vought announced they were looking to terminate as many as 10,000 federal workers during the government shutdown, also known as a Reduction In Force (RIF).

RIF notices have already gone out to about 4,000 workers.

The move by the monarchy resulted in a lawsuit from federal worker unions at the end of last month in anticipation of the layoffs.

Roughly two weeks ago, members of Congress, including Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), flipped out over the federal firings - calling the layoffs "arbitrary" in her opposition.

New Mexico Officials Report High Rate Of 'Forever Chemicals' In Residents Near Air Base

New Mexico state officials on Oct. 23 presented the results of a $1.2 million project to test the blood of people living near Cannon Air Force Base for forever chemicals during a public meeting in Clovis, New Mexico.

The tests found one or more forever chemicals—perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)—in the blood of 99.7 percent of people tested. At least one of 16 PFAS chemicals was found across all 628 samples tested, and the most common were those found in firefighting foam.

According to the report, the Department of Defense and the U.S. Air Force did not participate in the testing program.

For more than 80 years, PFAS have been ubiquitous in the United States and around the world.

The family of more than 14,000 chemicals is used in stain- and water-repellent fabrics, nonstick cookware, food packaging, and firefighting foams because they resist heat, oils, stains, and water.

However, they are also almost impossible to destroy and have contaminated the water, soil, and air where they have been manufactured and used. As a result, they are now present in the bloodstreams of 99 percent of Americans, according to government officials.

A 2016 study from the Department of Health and Human Services found evidence that the PFAS family could disrupt the immune system.

Among the PFAS, PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) have received special mention.

“The evidence that these chemicals affect multiple aspects of the immune system supports the overall conclusion that both PFOA and PFOS alter immune functions in humans,” the department’s website states.

Exposure to PFAS has also been linked to increased cholesterol, small decreases in birth weight, kidney and testicular cancer, and changes in liver enzymes.

What the fuck is going on with Cruz????

‘Real human beings’ spreading Jew-hatred on political right, Cruz says

“If I pick up my phone and send out a tweet, if I say ‘good morning,’ within minutes I will have hundreds of blatantly antisemitic responses,” the Texas Republican said at an event hosted by Hagee Ministries.

Cruz described a recent conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which the latter attributed online, right-wing antisemitism to funding from Qatar and Iran. Cruz disagreed.

“These are real human beings, and it is spreading,” the senator said. “In the last year, we had three prominent voices on the right publicly muse, ‘Gosh, maybe Hitler wasn’t that bad a guy after all.’”

“If I pick up my phone and send out a tweet, if I say ‘good morning,’ within minutes I will have hundreds of blatantly antisemitic responses,” Cruz said.

Speaking at the event hosted by the ministries of Pastor John Hagee, founder and national chairman of Christians United for Israel, Cruz said that in addition to Jew-hatred, isolationism is gaining ground among conservatives.

He said it is “unequivocally in the national security interest of the United States to support Israel.”

Cruz urged Christian leaders to reject replacement theology and “isolationist lies.”

“I will not remain silent,” he said, to applause from the crowd, which waved U.S. and Israeli flags. “The church is being corrupted right now,” he said. “Leaders in the church need to engage.”

The senator quoted from Jewish scripture, from what Mordecai charged Esther when he urged her to stand up for the Jews, even at her own risk. “You were put in this place right now, today, for such a time as this,” Cruz said.

Epstein Victim Names Hyatt Hotel Chairman Pritzker!

Deposition excerpts from Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre have recently surfaced alleging that billionaire Tom Pritzker, chairman of Hyatt Hotels and cousin to Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, had sexual encounters with her arranged by Epstein.

Jimmy and his guest Jackson Hinkle highlight Pritzker's alleged meetings with Epstein and Bill Gates, his presence in Epstein's contact book, and his efforts to keep court records sealed. They also speculate about potential links between powerful elites, the hotel industry, and Epstein's trafficking operations, questioning why U.S. authorities have not fully exposed the network.

House Oversight Committee Deems Biden Autopen Pardons and Orders ‘Void,” Asks DOJ to Take Action

A House panel said that pardons issued by the Biden White House while autopen usage was running rampant are invalid and is calling for a Department of Justice to review who signed what and why for possible criminal actions.

The panel issued a report — entitled “The Biden Autopen Presidency: Decline, Delusion, and Deception in the White House” — that “exposes how President Joe Biden’s top advisors, political operatives, and personal physician concealed the President’s mental and physical decline from the American people,” according to a news release on the website of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

The release said that as “President Biden’s condition deteriorated, his aides exercised presidential authority and facilitated executive actions without his direct authorization, including misusing the autopen and failing to properly document decision-making processes.”

Hamas says bodies of two Israeli hostages located amid ceasefire strain

Terror group says found bodies of Amiram Cooper, 86, and Sahar Baruch, 25, as Israel resumes airstrikes following deadly Rafah attack; 13 hostages remain in Gaza

Hamas announced Tuesday that it had located the bodies of two Israeli hostages—Amiram Cooper, 86, and Sahar Baruch, 25—both of whom were killed in captivity, as tensions deepened over ceasefire violations and renewed Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

The announcement came amid growing uncertainty surrounding the fragile truce signed less than three weeks ago. Earlier Tuesday, Hamas had indicated plans to transfer the remains of an 85-year-old hostage to Israel, followed by Arab media reports that another body, that of a 25-year-old captive, had also been found. Neither transfer ultimately occurred.

The announcement followed a deadly incident in Rafah, where Hamas terrorists opened fire on Israeli troops with RPGs and sniper rifles—prompting a wave of Israeli airstrikes across Gaza. Despite this, Hamas accused Israel of violating the ceasefire and said it would not release any more hostage remains, citing what it called Israeli provocations.

Israel has accused Hamas of breaching the agreement from the outset, having returned only living hostages within the initial 72-hour deadline. Israeli officials, wary of being blamed for collapsing the deal and concerned about U.S. reaction, opted instead to collect evidence of violations—including photos, recordings and intelligence—shared with Washington.

Zohran Mamdani criminally referred to DOJ over foreign, illegal donations

“These are not isolated incidents or clerical errors."

Zohran Mamdani has been criminally referred to the Department of Justice by the campaign finance watchdog group, the Coolidge Reagan Foundation (CRF). The foundation filed two criminal referrals against the socialist candidate on Tuesday for allegedly taking illegal donations from foreign donors.

According to Fox News, after a review of Mamdani's campaign finances, it was discovered he took $13,000 from 170 donors outside the US.

“These are not isolated incidents or clerical errors,” campaign finance expert of the CRF, told Fox News Digital. “This was a sustained pattern of foreign money flowing into a New York City mayoral race which is a clear violation of both federal law and New York City campaign finance rules. Mamdani’s campaign was on notice for months that it was accepting illegal foreign contributions, and yet it did nothing meaningful to stop it.”

The Mamdani campaign responded to the accusations, “31 of the 170 donors have proven their citizenship or legal permanent residence and have been deemed permissible by the Campaign Finance Board, and the remaining 139 have had their donations refunded."

The CRF sent the criminal referral to Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti of the US Department of Justice’s Criminal Division as well as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office on Tuesday.

“The law is crystal clear that foreign nationals may not participate in American elections, and that includes making contributions. Yet Mamdani’s campaign repeatedly accepted donations from individuals abroad,” Backer added, and argued “whether through negligence or intent, this conduct undermines the integrity of the democratic process.”

The DOJ calls for an investigation into "potential FECA violations" and the Manhattan version cites “possible violations of New York Election Law § 17.152, which makes it a misdemeanor for two or more persons to conspire to promote an election by unlawful means.”

CRF Chairman Shaun McCutcheon said, “Every dollar illegally funneled into a campaign from abroad dilutes the voice of lawful American voters. This case must be investigated immediately, and those responsible held accountable.”

Reserve bank fucks you!

Inflation has surged in terrible news for Aussies. The stock market is tumbling but something strange has happened to the Aussie dollar.

Cash-strapped mortgage holders’ hopes havebeen crushed following the latest consumer price index figure.

Fresh figures released by the Australia Bureau of Statistics shows the all-important trimmed mean inflation rate came in at 1.0 per cent for the quarter, above the RBA’s expectations.

This leaves the annual rate at 3.0 per cent – above market expectations of 2.8 per cent.

The higher than expected trimmed mean inflation rate reduces the likelihood of an interest-rate cut in November, as RBA governor Michele Bullock wants inflation to return to the mid point of the bank’s 2 to 3 per cent target.

KPMG chief economist Brendan Rynne said today’s results “dampen hopes” of a rate cut next week.

“We knew there was going to be an uptick in inflation once electricity rebates were wound back, but unfortunately today’s spike is much higher than any of us anticipated and provides the justification for the RBA to sit on its hands in relation to further rate relief,” Dr Rynne said.

RSM Australia economist Devika Shivadekar said the Reserve Bank of Australia will keep their powder dry at next Tuesday’s meeting.

“While much of the strength in recent spending figures can be attributed to the timing of electricity rebates, discretionary spending – particularly in travel during the school holidays – has also been notably strong,” she said.

Ahead of Wednesday’s release, the RBA had forecast an increase to the trimmed mean of 0.6 per cent.

The central bank uses a trimmed mean inflation rate in its assessments as it may exclude highly seasonal items such as fruit and once a year price changes, such as energy rebates.

The more volatile headline inflation rate came in at 1.3 per cent in the September 2025 from 0.7 per cent in the June quarter.

This was the highest quarterly rise since March 2023.

Headline inflation was 3.2 per cent for the year.
