A good woman is hard to find, and a treasure to cherish if a good man finds her. I always likened it for most cases like two different musical notes coming together to harmonize perfectly. Most cases, there's the odd ones that are a half-note off, either sharp or flat that don't quite harmonize with the other notes, it's off-key and requires more effort to maintain. In those circumstances I always imagined it as those kinds of people need to be with another that's a bit off, so those sharps and flats cancel out and a pure note that resonates rather than just harmonizes occurs, ideally anyway. Sounds like you found your good woman, anon, and I'm sorry to hear about her pain.
