In a recent episode of the Tucker Carlson Show, Piers Morgan, UK journalist and host of Piers Morgan Uncensored, debated Tucker Carlson on free speech in the United Kingdom.

During one exchange in the interview, which aired on Wednesday, Tucker Carlson dared Piers Morgan to use the word “f*ggot,” a speech crime in the UK.

This comes after 34-year-old Elizabeth Kinney, a mother of four and an aspiring nurse, was assaulted in the UK and sent to the hospital, but because she referred to her attacker as a “fagg*t” in private text messages, Kinney was reported to police and convicted of a hate crime! Kinney pled guilty to “causing to be sent by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing messages,” the Daily Mail reported earlier this month.

“The Crown place this offence in the highest category of its type due to the effect related to sexual orientation and the greater harm because it had moderate impact,” prosecutors argued. Kinney’s lawyer said she was simply “unloading a lot off her chest” after being badly injured and hospitalized” and that the statements “were not being used against a person’s sexuality.”

Still, she was sentenced on enhanced or “uplifted” charges with a 12-month community order, 72 hours of unpaid work, and ten “rehabilitation activity days,” as well as a fine because of the “homophobic content,” the Justice of the Peace said. Continue…

Eleven rare blue macaws, known scientifically as Cyanopsitta spixii and commonly as ararinhas-azuis, have been infected with circovirus at a breeding center in Curaçá, Bahia, Brazil.

The facility, operated by the Brazilian company BlueSky in partnership with the German Association for the Conservation of Threatened Parrots (ACTP), is part of efforts to reintroduce this species, which has been considered extinct in the wild since 2000 due to habitat loss and illegal wildlife trade.

The blue macaw population worldwide is estimated at around 200, all in captivity.

The species has been considered extinct in the wild since 2000, when the last wild animal monitored by researchers disappeared.

In 2020, 52 birds were repatriated from Europe to Brazil, and a group was released into a protected area in Curaçá in 2022.

Representatives of European Union member states reached an agreement on Wednesday in the Council of the EU to move forward with the controversial “Chat Control” child sexual abuse regulation, which paves the way for new rules targeting abusive child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on messaging apps and other online services.

“Every year, millions of files are shared that depict the sexual abuse of children… This is completely unacceptable. Therefore, I’m glad that the member states have finally agreed on a way forward that includes a number of obligations for providers of communication services,” said Danish Minister for Justice, Peter Hummelgaard.

The deal, which follows years of division and deadlock among member states and privacy groups, allows the legislative file to move into final talks with the European Parliament on when and how platforms can be required to scan user content for suspected child sexual abuse and grooming.

The existing CSAM framework is set to expire on April 3, 2026, and is on track to be replaced by the new legislation, pending detailed negotiations with European Parliament lawmakers. Continue…

Those taken into custody include two Ukrainian nationals - identified only as Oleksandr S. and a minor, Sofia Ch. - and in addition three Belarusian citizens identified as Viktoryia M., Anton M., and Uladzimir U.

The group is accused of targeting the Polish state for espionage purposes, with prosecutors alleging that throughout much of 2024 the team collected information on sensitive locations.

"The suspects' activities involved establishing contact with foreign intelligence representatives via Telegram and carrying out assigned tasks, including the creation and transmission of photographic documentation of critical infrastructure facilities and locations crucial to national security," a press release translated from Polish to English read. A Ukrainian MP recently made an unsubstantiated claim that there were 400,000 open and ongoing cases of desertion from the Ukrainian military since the invasion by the Russian Federation in 2022. It may have been hyperbole, or they may have had a source in the judiciary.

However, the General Prosecutor’s office wrote to the New Voice of Ukraine in early November that 310,000 criminal cases related to unauthorized absence from a military unit or place of service (AWOL) and desertion are currently registered, 162,000 of which came just this year. There have been over 21,000 desertions in October 2025 alone, claims journalist and former lawmaker Ihor Lutsenko – now commander of a Ukrainian drone unit.

"This is a record. A very bad record. Every two minutes, someone runs away from our army. By the time you finish reading this post, another soldier will have put on skis. Ukraine will be weaker by one defender, and the enemy will become stronger by one," he wrote, according to the New Voice. China’s humanoid robotics industry risks facing a bubble as a result of the current investment frenzy, the country’s economic planning commission has warned.

Speaking to reporters in Beijing on Thursday, a spokesperson for the National Development and Reform Commission, Li Chao, stated that the country’s authorities were seeking to prevent the explosive expansion of the sector from overwhelming the market.

“Frontier industries have long grappled with the challenge of balancing the speed of growth against the risk of bubbles – an issue now confronting the humanoid robot sector as well,” the official said.

In China alone, more than 150 companies operate in the field, with Unitree among the most prominent. The firm’s dancing droids were featured in the Spring Festival Gala earlier this year.

In February, Unitree released a video featuring its G1 humanoid robot performing Kung fu moves.

A team of genealogy researchers in Calgary is striving to solve the mystery of a box brimming with seemingly random historical items that was left at a local thrift store.

Included in the items received by the WorldServe Thrift Store in May was a photograph of a telegraphers union members conference from the early 1900s, newspaper clippings from the Montreal Daily dating back to the 1940s, and an antique menu from a Toronto Italian restaurant featuring salmon fillet for 15 cents.

The box also contained various newspaper clippings about a Canadian Second World War squadron that played a key role in the collection of photographic intelligence for the D-Day invasion and offered tactical reconnaissance for the British Army in Northwest Europe following the invasion.

The store handed over the box of historical memorabilia to the nonprofit genealogy organization Alberta Family Histories Society, which has been researching each item and anyone who might be connected to the contents of the box.

The nonprofit offers research support to those looking into their family history.

Director and researcher Sharon White said the group believes the items belonged to Calgary resident Marion Gordon Atkinson, who died in 2020 at the age of 88. Continue…

Alberta’s County of Northern Lights is located along the Peace River about halfway between Edmonton and the Northwest Territories and has long been favoured by nuclear energy companies for one primary reason: it has ample access to frigid river water for cooling nuclear reactors.

Fifty-seven percent of voters expressed opposition in a non-binding Oct. 20 plebiscite to a nuclear power station with two to four reactors proposed by Energy Alberta due to environmental concerns. A similar proportion of voters said they wanted more information before making a decision on whether to support the proposal.

Pat McNamara who heads the Northern Action Alliance (NAA), which opposes the proposed nuclear power plant, said a similar proposal 15 years ago by Bruce Power was rejected and opposition is no different this time.

“The community made it clear the last time that they didn’t want the reactors here,” McNamara told The Epoch Times. “People moved here for the quality of life and wildlife. That will be gone. People want to protect the river. If Alberta needs more power, use natural gas; we have lots of it.”

Energy Alberta CEO and president Scott Henuset said the proposed nuclear facility could power 4.8 million homes. He said although the company recognizes the hesitation expressed by some residents, the project is ultimately a win-win for Alberta and the local community.

“We understand that people have questions and concerns about nuclear energy in general and our project specifically – it is natural and expected at this early phase of a project of this scope and size,” Henuset wrote in an email to The Epoch Times. Continue…

The FDA under the Trump administration has found that at least 10 children died because they took the COVID-19 vaccine. The findings were released in a 3,000-word memo written by Dr. Vinay Prasad, who is the director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research.

The memo stated that “no fewer than 10” of 96 child deaths reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System were a direct result of the children taking the COVID-19 vaccine. The memo was sent out internally on Friday.

"I am writing to report that OBPV career staff have found that at least 10 children have died after and because of receiving COVID-19 vaccination," Prasad said in the memo.

He also pointed to myocarditis as one of the significant side effects of the vaccine. "Unlike the COVID virus, which has a steep age gradient being at least 1000 times more likely to kill an 80 year old than an 8 year old myocarditis appeared to have the opposite pattern. Young, healthy boys and men those least likely to experience bad covid outcomes bore the greatest risk," he added.

Prasad described how he felt that "the FDA and CDC abdicated their duty to the American people" because the impact of the vaccines on young boys was not addressed as thoroughly. He added that after a number of deaths were reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting (VAERS) system, and after a review of the deaths found that on a scale of causality ranging from "certain to unlikely," there were 10 deaths that were related to the vaccine.
