This is for a reason. An honest report, one informed and written by independent researchers, would implicate both political parties, most universities, many government agencies, the Big Tech and pharmaceutical sectors, churches and schools that went along, in addition to a massive swath of incumbent elites in foundations.

Sadly, that is just not going to happen. I wish it were otherwise. Any official commission report written as a coverup would be dead on arrival. Not even the establishment is that dumb.

I would like to live in a society in which mistakes are admitted, brutality is repudiated, institutions adapt in light of failure, and leadership is mature enough to seek forgiveness for wrongdoing. We hope for a narrative of history that is self-correcting in real time: error followed by pledges to improve and sin by repentance and propitiation.

This month, the Ontario Court of Justice heard a retrial of Blackman’s case after he was fully acquitted of mischief and obstruction in October 2023.

Drone footage of the 2022 protest against COVID mandates showed Blackman attempting to maintain peace. He is seen restraining fellow protesters to avoid clashes with police, kneeling before officers for several minutes, taking off his hat, placing his hands on his chest, and singing “O Canada” just before his arrest.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) has reported that it represented Barber during a November 26 hearing about the Crown’s attempt to take “Big Red,” Barber’s semi-truck. The Crown claimed that the vehicle is an “offence-related property” relating to Barber’s involvement in the 2022 protests against Canada’s COVID mandates.

Barber’s truck, a 2004 Kenworth long-haul, which he uses for business, was a focal point in the 2022 protests. He drove it to Ottawa, where it was parked for an extended period of time, but he complied when officials asked him to move it.

Barber’s lawyer, Diane Magas, said the Crown’s attempt to take away Barber’s livelihood is “not” in the spirit of laws in place regarding forfeiture.

“The impact of the forfeiture of ‘Big Red’, which is an essential part of the operation of Mr. Barber’s trucking business and is relied upon by Mr. Barber, his family, as well as employees, is not what Parliament had in mind when enacting those forfeiture provisions,” she said as per a JCCF press release. Carney told reporters on Nov. 27 in Calgary that the agreement would create “an energy transition,” with the core of the agreement being to prioritize the building of a pipeline to B.C. to ship oil to Asia. He said this would make Canada “stronger, more independent, more resilient, more sustainable.”

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) pairs the pipeline project to the proposed Pathways Alliance carbon capture project. The terms of the agreement also commit Ottawa to potentially adjusting the West Coast tanker ban if a pipeline project is approved as a project of national interest under the Building Canada Act.

The MOU also removes the oil and gas emissions cap introduced by the Trudeau government that Alberta had said in effect acts as a limit on production. It also suspends Alberta’s requirements under the Clean Electricity Regulations, objected to by the province due to its high dependence on gas generation for electricity. In exchange, the province has agreed to an increase of the industrial carbon tax and a commitment to reduce methane emissions from the oil patch by 75 percent from 2014 levels by 2035.

Carney said ultimately the pipeline’s construction will depend on a private proponent stepping forward, and it also needs to respect the interests of B.C. and First Nations. He added that the pipeline would be built in partnership with the indigenous peoples of Alberta and British Columbia, and would include “unprecedented opportunities for indigenous ownership” and associated economic benefits.

Smith said at the press conference that it was a “great day for Albertans” and that the agreement would “unleash an incredible amount of investment and allow us to work together on important nation-building projects.” She said the agreement will also remove the emissions cap on the oil sector. Nova Scotia selling off American booze to raise cash for food banks during Christmas season

This could be Nova Scotia’s last chance to buy Yankee booze for the foreseeable future.

On Thursday, Premier Tim Houston announced that American liquor taken off Nova Scotia Liquor Corp. store shelves in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war will be put back. The booze will be sold off and the profits sent to Feed Nova Scotia and other food banks.

But no more American booze will be ordered while the U.S. tariffs on Canadian exports remain in place. Continue…
