In August, former FBI agent Kyle Seraphin accused FBI Director Kashyap Patel’s girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, of being an Israeli intelligence asset who’s acting as a “honeypot”—a tactic where someone sexually manipulates their target to compromise, manipulate or spy on them.

“[Patel] has had his own little ‘honeypot’ issue that’s been going on of late, so we’re just going to acknowledge it real publicly. He’s got a girlfriend that is half his age, who is apparently is both a country music singer, a political commentator on Rumble, a friend of John Rich through [Dan] Bongino, who also now owns a big chunk of Rumble, and she’s also a former Mossad agent in what is like the equivalent of their NSA,” Seraphin said on his online show.

Seraphin’s accusations prompted a lawsuit from Wilkins, a 26-year-old American country music singer and conservative commentator.

Now, Seraphin says he was joking when he made those comments, according to a motion to dismiss that he filed Tuesday in Texas federal court.

“Mr. Seraphin’s statements clearly constituted imaginative expression, satire, humor, and rhetorical hyperbole. Ms. Wilkins’ own Complaint admits this, calling the statements ‘ridiculous’ and ‘ludicrous,’” Seraphin’s lawyers said in the motion.

“The statements intended to convey that there may be an ulterior motive for Ms. Wilkins’ relationship with Director Patel through purposefully over-the-top representations that a reasonable listener would not believe were assertions of fact.”

In his motion, Seraphin also noted that other commentators have made similar accusations against Wilkins. Former Utah candidate for U.S. Senate Sam Parker, for instance, posted about the allegations on Twitter/X in February, receiving more than 2.5 views. Another Twitter/X account ran by Simon Goddek called Wilkins a “classic honey pot” in July in a post that had more than 1 million views.

JPMorgan Discloses Government Probe Into Debanking Practices

US regulators are examining whether JPMorgan Chase has denied customers fair access to banking, as pressure grows over debanking decisions that were made against conservative figures, according to reporting from Financial Times and the company's 10-Q filing.

In its quarterly filing, the bank noted it was “responding to requests from government authorities and other external parties regarding, among other things, the firm’s policies and processes and the provision of services to customers and potential customers”.

JPMorgan linked the scrutiny to an August executive order from Donald Trump directing regulators to review possible “politicised or unlawful debanking”. The bank said related inquiries include “reviews, investigations and legal proceedings,” without identifying the agencies involved.

Bank of America has similarly reported responding to government demands about “fair access to banking.” Industry lobbyists argue that regulatory rules around politically exposed persons and “reputation risk” have pushed banks to deny certain customers.

Recall, just yesterday, we noted that a top bank watchdog was making sure big banks have finally ditched debanking policies. You remember those, right? We sure do. It happened around the same time Google, Paypal and Amazon all banned us due to our (correct) take on the origins of Covid-19 and because they didn't like our (correct) take on the BLM movement.

For those that missed it, a slew of banks under the Biden administration outright cancelled people's accounts and didn't allow them access to a bank account based on the industry they worked in, or many times their political views (surprise, none of them were Democrats).

Jonathan Gould, head of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, or OCC, told a conference that supervisors are double-checking banks really did stop blacklisting sectors like firearms from banks, according to Reuters.

This oversight follows a June executive order from President Donald Trump directing banks to avoid denying services based on industry type or political considerations.

Biden-Appointed D.C. Judge Orders White House To Provide Sign Language Interpreters For Press Briefings

The decision followed a lawsuit filed in May by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and Derrick Ford, a deaf individual, which alleged that the Trump administration “inexplicably stopped” using ASL interpreters since taking office, denying deaf Americans access to real-time White House communications.

In a 26-page order, President-Biden-appointed U.S. District Judge Amir Ali in Washington said the plaintiffs are likely to prevail on their claim that the administration’s actions violated the Rehabilitation Act, a federal law that aims to ensure people with disabilities have access to federal activities.

“White House press briefings engage the American people on important issues affecting their daily lives—in recent months, war, the economy, and healthcare, and, in recent years, a global pandemic,” Ali said in the order. “The exclusion of deaf Americans from that programming, in addition to likely violating the Rehabilitation Act, is clear and present harm that the court cannot meaningfully remedy after the fact.”

The judge said that English captions and transcripts alone are not enough to make briefings accessible to people who use ASL, as many deaf individuals do not communicate in English, according to the ruling.

The White House had argued that requiring the president to share his platform with ASL interpreters at all press briefings would cause a “major incursion on his central prerogatives.”

The judge rejected this argument, noting that ASL interpretation could be implemented without requiring interpreters to be in the same room as the speaker. Ali added that the White House did not clarify what “major incursion” it was referring to.

The plaintiffs also asked the court to mandate ASL interpretation for press briefings and events held by First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Second Lady Usha Vance, as well as for all videos posted on the White House’s websites and social media channels. Ali said they had not presented sufficient evidence to justify that request.

Ali ordered the Trump administration to file a status report by Nov. 7 that “apprises the court of their compliance with this order.”

Neither the NAD nor the White House responded to a request for comment by publication time.

The lawsuit marks the NAD’s second suit against the White House over access to ASL interpretation. In 2020, the NAD sued to require ASL interpretation for COVID-19-related press briefings.

That case was resolved when the White House implemented a policy to provide interpreters for all press briefings conducted by the president, vice president, first lady, second gentleman, and press secretary, according to the group.

A child murderer who killed his two-year-old stepdaughter has been found dead in a West Yorkshire prison.

Kyle Bevan was serving a life sentence in HMP Wakefield for murdering Lola James in a 'frenzied and extremely violent attack', leaving her with 101 separate injuries at her home in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.

Police rushed to the high security prison at 8.25am today following reports a man had been found dead in his cell.

It comes just weeks after paedophile Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins was murdered behind bars at the same prison.

Rico Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43, have been charged with murdering the disgraced rock star.

Watkins was serving nearly three decades behind bars for a series of horrific child sex offences, including the attempted rape of a fan's baby daughter.
