Hannover Airport temporarily shut due to unknown drone

Hannover Airport, located in the federal state of Lower Saxony, Germany, temporarily suspended operations late in the evening on November 5 due to the appearance of an unidentified drone, DW reports.
It is noted that the airport suspended operations from 22:00 to 22:45 local time after the pilot of an aircraft on approach spotted a drone.
According to preliminary information, the flying device passed over the industrial zone near the airport and disappeared in an unknown direction.
Due to the incident, three aircraft — two passenger and one cargo — were redirected to other airports.
Other flights landed and departed with delays. The airport security service has launched an internal investigation.
Unidentified drones in Europe
Flights of unidentified drones are increasingly causing problems for airport operations in various European countries.
In recent months alone, similar incidents have temporarily suspended airport operations in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Poland, Romania, and other countries.
Earlier in Spain, an unidentified drone was spotted for the first time, leading to a temporary shutdown of the local airport on the island of Mallorca.
In addition, on the evening of October 18, the airport in the German city of Munich was temporarily closed again after reports of unidentified drones.
Also in September, 14 European airports temporarily suspended operations due to incursions by unidentified drones. This is the highest number recorded in a single month.

Traffic halted at Swedish city Gothenburg's airport after drone sighting

GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Traffic was halted at the Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport on Sweden's west coast on Thursday after one or more drones were observed at the airport, authorities said.
Drones have caused major disruption across Europe in recent months, forcing temporary closures of airports in several countries.
Some officials have blamed the incidents on hybrid warfare by Russia. Moscow has denied any connection with the incidents.
"A drone or drones have been observed at Landvetter Airport," a spokesperson at civil aviation agency LFV said.
A police spokesperson said police received the report of the suspected sighting at 1641 GMT and were at the scene gathering information.
The airport is Sweden's second-biggest after Stockholm's Arlanda, according to airport operator Swedavia.
"The airspace above Landvetter is currently closed due to indications of a suspected drone," Swedavia Chief Operating Officer Susanne Norman said. "The airspace will remain closed while the police investigate," she said.

Belgium outlines response measures following drone incidents

Following a meeting of the National Security Council, Belgium decided to strengthen the powers of the National Air Security Center (NASC) in response to drone incidents near a military base, Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken announced this, according to VRT.
Francken said that "all security services together must have a common picture of the airspace," and that the NASC should ensure this.
He added that the meeting discussed measures to counter drones. That issue is currently being finalized so it can be submitted to the government for consideration tomorrow.
"In the meantime, hostile drones must not be allowed into our territory or over our military bases.
The tasks and instructions are clear: if possible, we shoot them down," the minister stressed.
Unknown drones spotted near a military base in Belgium
On the night of November 1, unknown drones were detected in Belgian airspace. They were flying over Kleine-Brogel Air Base in the town of Peer, where US nuclear weapons are stored.
Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken said the drones were spying on fighter jets and munitions.
Belgian Army Chief of Staff Frederik Vansina ordered soldiers to shoot down suspicious drones, but only if it can be done safely — meaning "without collateral damage."
On the evening of November 4, unknown drones were again spotted near Kleine-Brogel Air Base in Belgium.
Belgian intelligence services believe that a foreign state — most likely Russia — is behind the series of drone incidents that disrupted air traffic and military operations.
Today, November 6, Belgium held an emergency meeting of the National Security Council in response to the drone incidents.

Mysterious Cross-Shaped Object Spotted Over Illinois Night Sky

When you think of what a UFO looks like, you probably imagine some type of spherical object.
There's a new report out of Illinois that is something else entirely. Someone a few days ago saw what looked like a cross-shaped light moving quickly across the night sky before disappearing.
The National UFO Reporting Center says this Illinois encounter happened near Northbrook the night of October 26, 2025
Here are the exact words from the eyewitness report just shared on the NUFORC site:
"Silver sphere with white rectangular wings moved quickly away then vanished…looked stationary at first but then began to move very quickly towards the north…
Object accelerated more then fully vanished in plain sight. It looked like a silver sphere center with white rectangular wings."
They went on to describe the shape of the object as "a cross" moving at a 65 degree angle approximately 200 feet away from where they were driving.
The report said it was silvery-white in appearance and that they "thought it was a small aircraft at first but definitely was not."
Since Northbrook, Illinois is only about 20 minutes due south of O'Hare International Airport, you have to consider that any weird night sky object could be a conventional plane, but what type of aircraft moves in the way that this person described?
At the very least it's odd for a regular aircraft to change directions that quickly. By definition, they definitely can claim they saw a UFO as it's not easily identified.
