They passed a law that says you have to pay taxes for another 5 years after leaving. If you don't they'll file levy's against your property and ultimately have you extradited back to Cali to face prison.

It is far less expensive to simply pay the taxes, than the hundreds of thousands in legal fees that it would cost to get something before the Supreme Court.
