>James Watson, Nobel Prize winner and co-discoverer of double-helix DNA, dead at 97
the double helix structure of DNA was FIRST proposed by Linus Pauling (TWO Nobel prizes)
long before crick and watson came along and appropriated credit
the truth is crick and watson's contribution was merely to purify DNA to the point that it would form well-ordered crystals
and those were then subjected to analysis by X-ray crystallography to map the molecular structure
and crick and watson didn't do most of the tedious lab work, but instead delegated it to graduate assistants
who go zero credit and barely a mention in the literature
