THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR

 

To become a man of knowledge, one must be a warrior — not a pleading child.

One must strive without surrender, endure without complaint, and stand unflinching before all things.

 

A warrior is forged not by words, but by deeds.

 

The first task of the warrior is awareness — the clear recognition that death is ever at his side.

To live with that knowing is to see the world stripped of illusion.

 

Yet to dwell upon death is to drown in the self; and so, the warrior learns detachment.

 

Death ceases to be a terror, and becomes instead a silent companion — a presence that grants clarity, not despair.

 

It is only the knowledge of death that gives a man the detachment to be free — free from the chains of possession, free from the hunger to cling or deny.

 

Knowing that death stalks him, he wastes no moment, and thus he touches everything without craving, and leaves nothing unexperienced.

 

Detachment gives the warrior but one ground to stand upon: the power of decision.

 

He must be the master of his choices.

 

Once he decides, he accepts the full weight of his act — for there is no time for remorse, no refuge in hesitation.

 

Death grants no second chances; therefore, his choices must be final.

 

A warrior does not abandon himself to anything — not even to his own end.

 

He is not a willing captive of circumstance, nor a slave to passion or chance.

 

If he joins in a struggle, he does so with awareness.

 

For the warrior, nothing is ever out of control; his life is strategy, his every act a precise stroke.

 

The spirit of the warrior is not bent toward indulgence or complaint, nor toward victory or defeat.

 

It is bent only toward the struggle itself — the last battle upon this earth.

 

Thus, the outcome matters little.

 

In his final battle, the warrior’s spirit flows pure and unclouded.

 

He fights impeccably — and in that impeccability, he finds his freedom.

 

Knowing that his end is certain, he laughs — and in that laughter, he transcends death itself.
