I recently came accross a website that listed bride 'horror stories' of the MIL who RUINED their wedding.

my mother told me to beware of anyone who would want be to cut myself off from my family. I read Jerry Rubin when I was in 5th grade and was horrified by his yippy bullshit and how he told children (in the 1960s) to rebel against their parents.
so the idea of 'cut yourself off' isn't new.
