Previous recent northern lights have often been known to show up in a smartphone picture, but not to the naked eye.
So why does a camera that is excellent at accurately recreating colors and light values matching the human eye experience, in this one instance/circumstance, transform a color and light not visible to the naked eye, into a visible image?
