Snap closure of schools in Canberra and Brisbane after asbestos found in recalled coloured sand

Fifteen public schools in Canberra and one school in Brisbane are closed today and several others are partially closed due to asbestos in decorative coloured sand.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued a national recall notice for coloured sand products after testing detected traces of naturally occurring asbestos.
