nothing like stupidity compounded by stubbornness
what part of this don't you get?
you can be right, but go about expressing it the wrong way
the most precious commodity to a teacher is the students' belief in the teacher's credibility
what you did was an attempt to destroy that credibility
you could phrase your "correction" as a question
and allow the teacher to consider it without humiliating him/her
better yet, you go to the teacher privately between classes and politely ask if they might be mistaken
chances are they will thank you, issue a correction in class the next day, and give you credit for bringing it to their attention
a win for everyone
your was was a lose for everyone
imma guess you're still an arrogant egotistical asshat who NEVER admits when you make a mistake
