This is the harrowing moment a government minister's jet burst into flames this morning as it crashed after veering off the runway during landing in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The aircraft was carrying the country's Mines Minister, Louis Watum Kabamba and a delegation of top officials when the incident occurred at Kolwezi Airport.
