House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer on Tuesday said he would give former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the same treatment Democrats gave Steve Bannon if they do not comply with congressional subpoenas to testify on their alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

House Democrats referred Bannon for prosecution after he failed to comply with a House January 6 subcommittee subpoena. He was later convicted on two counts of contempt of Congress and sentenced to four months in prison in 2022.

Comer said the Clintons are two Democrats that his committee has not heard back from regarding subpoenas for their testimony on their ties to Epstein, and that continued silence will be met with criminal referrals.

"We expect to hear from Bill and Hillary Clinton," Comer said on the "Just The News, No Noise" TV show. "Donald Trump answered questions for years about Jeffrey Epstein. Every day he gets asked questions about Epstein, and he answers them in front of the American people. We've subpoenaed Republicans and Democrats.

"Other Democrats have sent letters saying they knew nothing about Epstein, which would hold in court if something ever comes out that they did know something, then they've committed perjury there," he continued. "But the Clintons have never responded. They're the one group in this investigation that's never had to answer questions in front of a credible reporter, and they've never certainly answered questions from attorneys or members of Congress.

"So we expect the Clintons to come in, or I expect the Clintons to be met with the same fate that Bannon and [Peter] Navarro were met with when the Democrats were in control," he concluded.

Comer also noted that other Democrats have not helped bring the Clintons in to testify because they are too focused on trying to criminally connect Trump to Epstein.

Days after her name appeared in a tranche of newly released Jeffrey Epstein emails, Goldman Sachs General Counsel Kathy Ruemmler sent a company-wide message that some bank employees found tone-deaf.

Ruemmler wrote that “what and how you communicate reflects on you and the reputation of the firm” in a Tuesday memo reminding staffers to complete mandatory training — including a module on “communications at Goldman Sachs.”

The message was not well-received by employees who are disturbed that the firm has yet to even acknowledge that the top legal officer had questionable judgment when it came to advising Epstein.

“The fact they’d put her name on this after last week’s emails … it’s beyond offensive,” one insider said.

Sources also said a handful employees have left Ruemmler’s team over the last few months — frustrated over perception that the ongoing scandal has seemingly been swept under the rug. A September report in the Wall Street Journal claimed she was close to Epstein and once even named the executor of his estate.

And a 2023 WSJ story said that Ruemmler “had dozens of meetings with Epstein in the years after her White House service and before she became a top lawyer at Goldman Sachs … [Epstein] also planned for her to join a 2015 trip to Paris and a 2017 visit to Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean.”

Emails reveal Ruemmler, a former Obama White House attorney who also referred to herself as Epstein’s lawyer in one email, had a friendly relationship with the disgraced financier.

She wrote to Epstein on September 19 2014: “I’ll be here all week… you may get sick of me…”

After Ruemmler messaged Epstein “Most girls do not have to worry about this crap,” he replied: “Girls?,, careful I will renew an old habit.”

Their banter continued for years.

In July 2016, Epstein wrote, “pretty black dress. you and ruth ginsburg.” Ruemmler replied, “I like that dress … narciso Rodriguez. Where did you see that picture? RBG was my date to state dinner.”

In a 2016 email, Epstein wrote “do you think Bill Clinton would like to join you me chud and steve? could be very funny, all off the record.” She replied, “While he might like to, his lawyer would advise him against it. :-).”

Ghislaine Maxwell was honored by the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in 2013, four years after sexual abuse accusations against her emerged – and two years after the former president Bill Clinton’s staff recommended banning her from official events, CNN has reported.

Maxwell – who in 2022 was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking and related crimes – attended the CGI conference as a guest of merit, where she was applauded for her work on ocean conservation alongside other “Commitment to Action” leaders, according to the network.

Maxwell’s complimentary access to the conference indicated that her invitation was personally recommended by either Bill or Hillary Clinton, the former first lady, secretary of state and US senator, the outlet said. That is because a top Clinton aide, Doug Band, had instructed CGI staff to “remove Ghislaine, from all lists” for Clinton-related events, as CNN put it.

The conference invite came four years after Jeffrey Epstein’s accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre claimed in a 2009 lawsuit against Epstein that Maxwell had recruited and groomed her for – as well as participated in – her sexual abuse. And the claims had already surfaced in press reports.

In that same year, Maxwell was hit with a subpoena to testify in that suit as she was leaving a CGI event – and a year later attended the 2010 wedding of Chelsea Clinton.

A representative for Clinton said more than 600 complimentary tickets were approved for the CGI conference in 2013. “The decisions on those comps were made, as they have been historically, at the staff level, which included the office of President Clinton,” they said.
