One of the things the French Resistance did, was reroute train cars carrying essential war supply's to the wrong destination.

Tank parts from the factory making them, were sent to Norway, or engine parts for submarines sent to the Russian front.

This caused horrendous supply problems, and Albert Speer said it was one of the greatest obstacles he had to overcome, especially as it required the train cars to be sent back to the supplier, and then to the correct destination.

One of the things that happened, was train cars from the arms factories, full of machine guns, rifles, ammo, panzerfaust etc, were were rerouted to French safe houses, and those weapons are still there.

All packed in grease, sealed in aluminum cases, just waiting to be opened.

MG42's with millions of rounds of ammunition, all sealed, ready to use……

All still hidden…..

As long as the ammo is still sealed in the original greased paper, inside the aluminium can's its still fine. Lessons learned from the first world war.

they dig up war stuff all the time on the russian front, looking for graves etc, and they find live, and still usable, ammo all the time.

Mark Felton did a video just recently, about a stash (5000?) "brand new" MP44's found in Syria.

These stashes are more common than folks realize.
