Kevin Spacey Reveals He Is Homeless After Losing $5.6 Million Baltimore Home to Foreclosure Amid Costly Legal Battles

Hollywood legend Kevin Spacey has revealed that he is homeless, having lost his lavish Baltimore property to foreclosure while dealing with the soaring cost of the legal fees involved in defending himself against a spate of sexual assault allegations.

Spacey, 66, was once one of the most sought-after actors in the industry, enjoying a series of major blockbuster roles, including appearances in "Se7en" alongside Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, and the sensationally popular political series "House of Cards."

But after several claims of sexual assault and misconduct began being levied against him in 2017, the actor became a persona non grata in Hollywoodโ€”a stigma that has remained even after he was acquitted of all charges of sexual assault by a London court in 2023.

Hollywood's refusal to work with him during his six-year legal battle to clear his name coupled with the extraordinary cost of lawyers' fees left Spacey in dire financial straits and in July 2024, he lost his palatial Baltimore mansion to foreclosure, having defaulted on his $20,000-a-month mortgage payments.

While Spacey initially fought back against the foreclosure auction of his property, which was purchased by real estate mogul Sam Asgari for $3.2 million, he was ultimately forced from the homeโ€”and has since struggled to secure another full-time residence.

Instead, Spacey admitted to The Telegraph, he has been living between Airbnb rentals and hotels, traveling to anywhere he is able to secure work, including a Cyprus nightclub, where he recently staged a musical performance for which spectators were charged up to $1,400 for a ticket.

Speaking to the outlet about his money struggles, the actor explained that he lost his home for one very simple reason: "Because the costs over these last seven years have been astronomical. Iโ€™ve had very little coming in and everything going out."

He added: "Iโ€™m living in hotels, Iโ€™m living in Airbnbs, Iโ€™m going where the work is. I literally have no home, thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m attempting to explain."

Describing his current financial situation as "not great," Spacey said that he did manage to avoid filing for bankruptcy, although he conceded that it had been "discussed" as an option.

The majority of his worldly possessions are currently in storage while he continues to travel for any and every paying work opportunity, although he said he does hope at some point to earn enough money to settle down in a real home once more.

"You get through it," he said. "In weird ways, I feel Iโ€™m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was. Everything is in storage, and I hope at some point, if things continue to improve, that Iโ€™ll be able to decide where I want to settle down again."

Obamas Are Skipping Dick Cheney's Funeral After Michelle's Previous Absences This Year

Though Barack attended both Jimmy Carter's funeral and Donald Trump's inauguration in January, Michelle has been focused on life outside of politics this year, previously saying she's practicing the "art of saying no"

Barack and Michelle Obama are not expected to attend Dick Cheney's funeral on Thursday, Nov. 20, a source familiar tells PEOPLE.

Cheney โ€” the powerful vice president to former Republican President George W. Bush โ€” died on Nov. 3 at age 84. While it's common for first couples to attend the funeral of a vice president, expectations are not entirely defined, and the Obamas are not the only high-profile figures who will forgo the Thursday morning service.

Bush is slated to speak at the funeral, PEOPLE confirmed, while former president Joe Biden and former Vice Presidents Kamala Harris, Mike Pence, Al Gore and Dan Quayle are all expected to be in attendance, according to multiple reports.

Several other political power brokers โ€” including longtime Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Republican Senate leaders John Thune and Mitch McConnell, and Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts โ€” will also attend, according to CNN.

Notably, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance were reportedly not invited to Cheney's funeral โ€” a detail that Axios first reported on Nov. 19. Their absence as the sitting leaders of the country is a more staunch departure from tradition, but not entirely surprising given that Cheney broke party ranks to endorse the Democratic presidential ticket in 2024.

Former President Bill Clinton is also not expected to attend due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict, according to multiple reports.
