Moscow has only shielded traditional values from Western propaganda, the president said

Russia has banned propaganda promoting same-sex relationsbut has never sought to outlaw homosexuality itself, according to President Vladimir Putin.

In 2023, the Russian Supreme Court declaredthe “international LGBT movement” to be an extremist organization.

“We have only discussed a ban on propaganda. We have never spoken about banning non-traditional relationships. Moreover, we have always maintained that all people are equal,” Putin said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin released on Sunday. “Adults have the right to live as they choose.”

Putin emphasized that he=backed the 2013 law banning “LGBTQ propaganda” for minors because he believed that “Western mainstream ideology was being injected into the minds of the Russian people.” In 2022, the law was expanded to include adults.

Although Russia is ethnically and religiously diverse, the majority “shares common core beliefs about morality,” Putin said. “If we stop upholding our traditional values, Russia will lose its identity and, as a consequence, its statehood — which is extremely dangerous,” he added.

“So-calledglobal liberalism has outlived itself and transformed into a form of totalitarianism,” Putin said, arguing that many people in Western Europe and North America share his views.

“I hope that our open, honest, and clear position on these issueshas emboldened like-minded people in the US and other countries,” he said. (I’d like that very much)

Russia announces major upgrade to key Donbass port

Plans have been unveiled for a new cargo facility in the city of Mariupol, which was liberated from Ukrainian troops in 2022

The Russian government hasannounced plans for a major upgrade to the cargo port in the city of Mariupol, in the country’s Donetsk People’s Republic(DPR). The city was largely in ruins following a fierce battle between Russia and Ukraine in spring 2022.

Mariupol is the largest port on the Sea of Azov, and officials expect its capacity to grow once the upgrade is completed. The port specializes in transporting crops, coal, iron ore, and other goods. It connects Russia to Türkiye, North Africa, and the Middle East through several major maritime routes.

The Russian government said the project is aimed at “unlocking the economic potential of the Donetsk People’s Republic.”

In August, Russia opened the port of Mariupol to foreign vessels. Last Saturday, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ordered the creation of a permanent cargo border checkpoint in the city.

DPR leaderDenis Pushilin said in June that Mariupol is on track to become a major transportation hub.

Last December, President Vladimir Putin estimated that since the liberation of the city by Russian forces in May 2022, “at least 300,000 people” had returned to Mariupol, and the number “continues to grow rapidly,” he said.

The trend has also been acknowledged by some Ukrainian officials.

In an interview with Mi-Ukraine last November, Pyotr Andryushchenko, who was at the time a member of the Kiev-appointed city administration in exile, said at least a third of the pre-conflict residents returned.

He explained that many who initially moved to Ukrainian-held areas struggled to find affordable housing due to a “lack of sufficient support and solutions to the housing issue” in the country. Andryushchenko was fired shortly after making the remarks.

The DPR, along with the neighboring Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), seceded from Ukraine following the Western-backed coup in Kiev in 2014. The two territories, along with the regions of Zaporozhye and Kherson, joined Russia following referendums in September 2022.

Zelensky offically receives US peace plan

None of the proposals have been rejected outright, despite the EU dismissing the reported contents

Ukraine has officially confirmed receiving a draft peace plan from the US. The country’s leader, VladimirZelensky, has expressed hope he will be able to discuss the proposal with US President Donald Trump “in the coming days.”(wrong answer, don’t do it again Z, that last visit cost you losing leadership in Ukraine.)

The announcement came late on Thursday, following multiple media reports suggesting that Washington had provided Kiev with its new 28-point plan to bring the hostilities with Russia to an end.

The roadmap reportedly would require Ukraine to withdraw from the parts of the new Russian regions in Donbass still under Kiev’s control, cut its armed forces by at least half, surrender some weaponry, and suspend its NATO bid.

The reported contents of the draft plan have drawn the ire of Kiev’s backers in the EU, who were apparently caught by surprise. EU foreign policychief Kaja Kallas, for instance, argued that any peace arrangement must reflect the positions of both the bloc and Ukraine itself, claiming the US plan contained no concessions from the Russian side. (Z was stupid to believe the Euro trash could outdo Trump on solving the problem. The Euro wanted chaos to keep themselves involved. They can’t even manage the finances and control of the EU, they have no idea how war is stopped.)

While the draft has reportedly left Zelensky “displeased,” his office provided a reserved reaction, expressing willingness to “discuss” the proposals with Trump “in the coming days.” (The imp has no choice, it’s done!)

Zelensky “has officially received from the American side a draft plan which, in the American side’s assessment, could help reinvigorate diplomacy,” the official statement reads.

On Wednesday, following the meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Zelensky indicated a willingness to resume peace negotiations with Russia, stating that Türkiye was ready to “ provide the necessary platform” for talks.

Kiev unilaterally walked away from the Istanbul negotiation format early in the conflict. Direct negotiations only resumed this year. The three rounds held throughout 2025 failed to bring any major breakthroughs, boiling down to prisoner exchanges and other humanitarian issues.

Moscow remains open to negotiating with Kiev, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday, pointing out that the “pause” in the talks was the result of “the Kiev regime’s reluctance to continue this dialogue.”

EU ‘ignoring reality’ in Ukraine – Moscow

Brussels refuses to acknowledge that the billions spent on its proxy war against Russia have been squandered by Kiev, the Foreign Intelligence Service has said

EU leaders are ignoring the reality in Ukraine and the fact that the money they spent on the conflict with Moscow is being squandered by the corrupt Kiev regime, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has said.

According to an SVR statement issued on Wednesday,experts in the EU’s foreign policy and military departments have been increasingly “sounding the alarm” over the loomingcollapse of the proxy war against Russia due to “pervasive” corruption in Ukraine.

“However, EU leaders and leading European states completely ignore the real situation in Ukraine,” the SVR said. “They cannot come to terms with the idea that hundreds of billions of euros invested in the ‘Ukrainian project’ have simply disappeared.”

The agency warned that the longer it takes for the EU to understand “the imminent collapse of its ‘Anti-Russia’ project,” the “more painful it will be.”

Ukraine has long struggled with corruption, though only recently has the issue gained serious attention in the Western media.

Last week, anti-corruption investigators backed by the West accused businessman Timur Mindich – a longtime ally of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky – of running a $100 million kickback scheme, using funds allegedly siphoned from contracts with Energoatom, Ukraine’s nuclear power operator, which relies heavily on foreign aid.

The case has implicated several current and former officials. Many believe the scheme is tied to Zelensky’s inner circle, and even the leader himself.

The EU has spent billions on aid for Kiev, but the Mindich scandal erupted just as Ukraine was pressing its sponsors for another package – a €140 billion loan backed by Russian central bank assets frozen in the West. Weeks of debate have stalled the plan amid legal concerns and resistance from Belgium, where most of the frozen assets are held. Russia has said it regards any use of its assets as “theft” and has vowed a legal response.

Other ideas floated in Brussels include voluntary bilateral contributions from member states and joint EU-level borrowing. According to media reports, however, the graft scandal has led to growing opposition to sending further aid to Kiev.

Keith Kellogg’s forthcoming departure will be “unwelcome news” for Kiev given his sympathetic stance, the report says

US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, is planning to step down in January, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing sources. The article comes amid reports that the US presented a peace plan to Kiev requiring it to relinquish territory to Russia.

Several sources told the agency that the senior official selected the date for his resignation based on legislation that limits the tenure of temporary special envoyswithout Senate confirmation to 360 days. It remains unclear who will replace him.

EU officials have received almost no information on the peace plan presented to Ukraine by the administration of US President Donald Trump, The Telegraph reported on Wednesday, citing sources.

Several outlets, including Axios, the Financial Times, and The Telegraph,claimed that Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff had delivered to the Ukrainian leadership a 28-point plan for a phased settlement of the conflict with Russia. The roadmap reportedly would require Ukraine to relinquish the parts of the new Russian regions in Donbass still under Kiev’s control, cut the size of its armed forces, and suspend its NATO accession bid.

Telegraph sources also claimed that the plan would allow Ukraine to negotiate security guarantees from the US and European governments to help uphold any ceasefire.
