On November 25, 2025, Brian Roemmele released an open-source AI training algorithm (Empirical Distrust Term) designed to force AI to prefer raw empirical reality over high-authority, low-verifiability sources. The algorithm calculates a loss based on authority_weight (favoring primary data) and provenance_entropy (favoring diverse, uneditable sources) to incentivize distrust of modern consensus and preference for older, verifiable data.
