Affidavit: Laredo man told agents ‘it’s me’ after FBI traced child porn to his home
“It’s me,” he reportedly told agents. He also acknowledged owning a Microsoft tablet he used to access the internet, according to the affidavit.
Ramirez told investigators he had been downloading and viewing child pornography for about a year using the file-sharing program uTorrent, the affidavit states.
He said he searched for those videos directly in the program’s search bar, downloaded them to folders labeled “_cp” and “kidflix,” and allowed them to play in shuffle fashion, according to the affidavit.
Ramirez admitted he had viewed a 10-minute video the night before the warrant was served and deleted it after watching it, the affidavit states. Agents seized the tablet and other electronic devices from the home during the search.
Jail records show Ramirez was taken into Webb County Jail for intake and transferred to federal custody the following day.
A grand jury indicted him Nov. 12 on all three counts. Each charge carries up to 20 years in prison, according to the indictment.

Man sentenced to nearly 1,000 years in prison for recording videos of himself raping child
AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. (WKRC) - A man was sentenced to almost 1,000 years in prison for creating "home videos" that depicted him sexually abusing a child under the age of 12.
Authorities became aware of 48-year-old Jason Hudson after he downloaded tagged child sexual abuse materials, which notified authorities and allowed investigators to learn more about Hudson and his illegal activities, according to a release from the office of 19th Judicial District Attorney CJ Robinson.

The investigation uncovered thousands of illegal images of male and female children as young as 2 years old being raped, sexually assaulted, and molested, the release read. Other videos and images allegedly showed the children being "tortured with sex toys, lashed with whips, urinated on, and burned by open flames while bound with rope."
In addition to the cache of child pornography, authorities allegedly discovered "home videos" Hudson had created that contained evidence of him "sexually abusing, sodomizing, and raping a child under the age of 12."
"The victim in this case is truly a survivor who was extremely brave for coming forward and never hesitating to confront her abuser. I wish I could go back in time and prevent her from experiencing the abuse."

‘Worst of the worst’: Man accused of having ‘awful’ sexual abuse material of babies on his phones
Robert Shepard, 50, of Cleves, made a court appearance on Wednesday.
He faces one count of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in a nudity-oriented material or performance, and eighteen counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.
On April 7, the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office said the sheriff’s office got a cybertip that resulted in a search warrant for devices in Shepard’s possession.
The Hamilton County prosecutor handling the case says what investigators found “is just about the worst of the worst you can imagine.”
Shepard told investigators, according to the prosecutor, he only had child sex abuse material on one phone, but more abuse content was found when they discovered additional phones.
“These are the worst that I’ve encountered as far as videos and images go,” the prosecutor described Wednesday in court. “They are babies, and those are mostly the ones that are contained, not in the complaints. Though the ones in the complaints are just as awful.”
After his arrest, two more child victims came forward, prosecutors explained.
“The defendant has acted upon these urges,” the prosecutor explained to the judge. “There are two investigations that I’m aware of where victims in our community, children in our community, have reported the defendant since he was arrested. And just to be clear, babies and children in these videos and images that are in the indictment are real victims, known victims, and that’s why they are flagged in the first place.”
When it came time for Judge Patrick Dinkelacker to address Shepard, he said he would withhold commenting, but described the 50-year-old as “a threat to the safety of this community.”
Judge Dinkelacker issued a $100,000 bond for each of the 19 charges against Shepard, for a total bond of $1.9 million.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich was pleased with the high bond issued, calling Shepard “a menace to society.”
Shepard is due back in court Dec. 9.

Mexican national arrested after 50,000 fentanyl pills found hidden in child's toy
MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) — More than 50,000 fentanyl pills were concealed inside a child’s toy during a traffic stop in Fort Lauderdale, leading to the arrest of a Mexican national in the country illegally.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on November 24, that officers approached a vehicle driven by Guillermo Higuera German, 37, during a consensual encounter on November 17. A certified narcotics K-9 alerted officers to the presence of drugs, prompting a search of the vehicle. Inside, investigators found several boxes and a Sesame Street-style school bus toy packed with thousands of fentanyl pills weighing around five kilograms, about 11 pounds.
Further investigation revealed that Higuera German was unlawfully present in the United States and hadpreviously been deported five times.He now faces federal charges and is again subject to removal, according to the news release.
