The last senator to go to jail is Bob Menendez, who began serving an 11-year sentence in June 2025 for political corruption and bribery. He is the most recent senator to be incarcerated, following Harrison "Pete" Williams Jr., who went to prison in the 1980s after being convicted as part of the Abscam sting operation.
