Hundreds of Russian Porsche owners have found their cars immobilized across the country, amid fears of deliberate satellite interference.

Drivers have complained that their vehicles have suddenly locked up, lost power and refused to start, as owners and dealerships warn of a growing wave of failures that has left hundreds of vehicles stuck in place.

The nationwide meltdown hit Porsche models built since 2013, which are all fitted with the brand's factory VTS satellite-security unit.

The vehicles have been 'bricked' with their engines immobilised, due to connections with the satellite system being lost.

Rolf dealership service director Yulia Trushkova said 'all models and all engine types' are impacted.

The company does not rule out that the malfunction may have been caused 'deliberately', according to sources in Moscow - with suspicions cast towards the West.

It also warned that Porsche motorists with internal combustion engines may find their cars completely unresponsive for no clear reason, forcing mechanics to step in.

While some drivers were told to try a simple workaround by disconnecting their car batteries for at least 10 hours, others were advised to disable or reboot the Vehicle Tracking System, known as the VTS, which is linked to the alarm module.

Alexander, a 31-year-old owner from St. Petersburg, said his Porsche simply died outside a pizzeria.

'I picked up my order, got back in, and that was it - the car wouldn't start,' he complained.

'Two days I spent trying to understand what happened. It's a warning sign about which brands can be trusted.'

Trushkova also said that similar problems are occurring with some Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Some Audi and Volkswagen models were hit.

The Volkswagen Group, which owns the Porsche brand, announced it was suspending deliveries of the elite machines to Russia after the start of Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, but was unable to sell off its three Moscow-based subsidiaries.

Rich Russians continue to drive them. Some owners have been stranded for days waiting for on-site diagnostics, tow trucks or emergency technicians.

There are reports of Russians resorting to 'home-brew' fixes - ripping out connectors, disconnecting batteries overnight, even dismantling the alarm module.

A few cars were revived after 10 hours without power, but others remained immobilised.

One Perm-based mechanic described his own Porsche stalling two seconds after it started.

'Everything looked perfect - wiring, battery, modules,' he said. 'Then I reached the VTS alarm unit. Disconnect it, reconnect without the satellite plugs, and suddenly the car starts.

'My friend had the same issue. Maybe jammers triggered it. Maybe radio waves synced. No idea.'

Russian specialist motor publication Auto Rambler said the official representative of Porsche in Russia, Porsche Rusland LLC, has confirmed the existence of problems.

'The number of complaints continues to grow,' said the outlet. 'Preliminary assessments indicate that the problem is not related to the design features of the cars.

'According to experts, the reason for the mass 'bricking' of Porsche cars is the blocking of the standard satellite alarm system, which prevents the car from starting.

'It is not known whether the problem lies in the impact of electronic warfare (EW) measures or a signal from the manufacturer.'

Russian Porsche servicing outlets are flooded with wealthy owners who fear a covert Western satellite attack operation has immobilised their luxury vehicles.

But it is clear that the fixes are not always working. One servicing agent said: 'I didn't make it to work, and now I'm back here with a Porsche that won't start.'

Another explained: 'A lot of people are writing about the news of Porsches being blocked. They ask, is it fake or not? No, it's not fake. Unfortunately, we have already received more than 40 cars on tow trucks over the past three days.

'These are restyled Cayennes, Macans, and a couple of Panameras. We deal with the antennae. We jam, block or completely disable the function using software. So bring your car, and we will definitely help you.'

Drivers in Moscow, Krasnodar and other cities began complaining last week that their engines were shutting down on the road or refusing to start altogether, with fuel systems blocked and alarm modules offline.

Daily Mail has contacted Porsche for comment on the ongoing issue.

Last year, MPs in the United Kingdom were warned that Beijing could remotely stop electric cars manufactured in China, as relations between the two nations deteriorated.

The previous year, lawmakers cautioned that tracking devices from China had been found in UK government vehicles.
