>Today, I addressed the House on the Gold Standard Restoration Act. My bill would return the U.S. to the gold standard, protect against Washington’s irresponsible spending habits and the creation of money out of thin air.

Unless there is new version of this Bill coming through the pipeline, or an EO on which a later bill can be based, the restoring-gold-as-the-standard-for-the-US-dollar, and related matters, efforts have hit a dead end, at least through this avenue. This 2023 Bill died after it got stuck in House Committee on Financial Services.

AI Summary

This bill, the Gold Standard Restoration Act, [*] aims to define the U.S. dollar as a fixed weight of gold. [*] It requires the Secretary of the Treasury to set a fixed price for gold and make Federal Reserve notes redeemable for gold at that price within 24 months of the bill's enactment. [*] The bill also mandates the disclosure of the government's and Federal Reserve's gold holdings and transactions since the suspension of the gold redeemability in 1971, to facilitate the orderly establishment of the new gold-backed dollar. [*] The key goals are to restore long-term price stability, strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing, andreturn control of the money supply to the market rather than the Federal Reserve.
