Rep Massie Introduces Bill For US To Dump 'Cold War Relic' NATO

Conservative and outspoken libertarian-leaning Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky introduced legislation Tuesday for the United States for formally withdraw from NATO. Sen. Mike Lee is also helping lead the charge, introducing companion legislation in the Senate.

The bill argues that the US military cannot be seen as the police force of the world, and that given NATO was created to counter the long-gone Soviet Union, which no longer exists, American taxpayers’ money would be better spent elsewhere.

"We should withdraw from NATO and use that money to defend our own country, not socialist countries… US participation has cost taxpayers trillions of dollars and continues to risk US involvement in foreign wars… America should not be the world’s security blanket - especially when wealthy countries refuse to pay for their own defense," Massie said.

Openly questioning the legitimacy of the European Union, he has now called for its abolition and a return of sovereign powers to member states.

From Musk’s perspective, along with many European conservatives, the current conflict reflects a deeper democratic deficit: an unelected bureaucratic super-state making sweeping decisions that impact commerce, speech, and national sovereignty without sufficient accountability.

Sceptics of Brussels, including Hungarian leader Victor Orban, have openly supported Musk’s stance. Orban posted on social media about “Brusselian overlords” who “cannot win the debate”, instead resorting to fines.

FDA Expands Probe Into COVID Vaccine-Related Deaths to Include Adults

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expanding its probe into COVID-19 vaccine-related deaths to adults, after initially confirming that the agency was investigating the deaths of 10 children who died after receiving the shot.

The “FDA is doing a thorough investigation, across multiple age groups, of deaths potentially related to COVID vaccines,” a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) spokesperson told The Defender today. HHS provided no further details.

Bloomberg is credited with first reporting on the expanded inquiry.

In September, the FDA initiated an “intense investigation” into the deaths of children who received the COVID-19 vaccine, drawing on reports from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a surveillance system jointly run by the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As of press time, the FDA had not issued a statement explaining why it is expanding its investigation into COVID-19 vaccine-related deaths.

As of Aug. 28, there were 38,773 reports of deaths filed in VAERS among all age groups, according to the OpenVAERS Project. More recent numbers are not publicly available.

However, the actual number of deaths is likely much higher, since VAERS has historically been shown to report less than 1% of all adverse events.

A 2022 audit by React19, an organization advocating on behalf of COVID-19 vaccine injury victims and their families, found that 1 in 3 COVID-19 vaccine adverse event reports in VAERS were not posted publicly or were deleted.

HHS Fires Back at ‘Partisan Theatrics’ After Democratic House Member Moves to Impeach RFK Jr.

Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) on Wednesday filed articles of impeachment against U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., accusing him of “abuse of authority and undermining of the public health.”

The New York Times called the move “an all but certainly futile bid” to charge Kennedy with imperiling public health and scientific and medical progress.

The Times and other outlets reported that Stevens lacks the support of Democratic leadership and that the measure would be unlikely to gain traction in the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives.

Children’s Health Defense CEO Mary Holland called the move a “pathetic partisan” attempt by a member of the “vaccine confederacy” that is less concerned about children’s health than it is in maintaining the medical establishment status quo.

Holland said:

“I hope the secretary ignores this distraction and continues the good work he’s been doing on behalf of millions of children who deserve better than flimsy clinical trials and inadequate safety monitoring of vaccines known to cause serious harm to some children.

“Children’s Health Defense is grateful for the accomplishments Kennedy has overseen since he took office, including changes to the Hep B and COVID-19 vaccine recommendations for children, a commitment to thoroughly investigate all possible causes of autism, including vaccines, and an exhaustive review of the childhood vaccine schedule.”

Andrew Nixon, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), defended Kennedy’s record while at the helm of the agency. Nixon said Kennedy “remains focused on improving Americans’ health and lowering costs, not on partisan theatrics designed to elevate standing in a failing, third-rate Senate bid.”

In September, Stevens called on Kennedy to resign and vowed to submit articles of impeachment.

DHS purchases Boeing 737s to create own fleet for ICE deportations

WASHINGTON (TNND) — The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently agreed to purchase six Boeing 737 planes to assist the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with deportations, according to DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin.

"These planes will allow ICE to operate more effectively, including by using more efficient flight patterns," McLaughlin said, adding that the initiative will save the U.S. taxpayer $279 million.

DHS's contract for the nearly $140 million purchase of the 737s from Daedalus Aviation was first reported by The Washington Post.

"President Trump and @Sec_Noem are committed to quickly and efficiently getting criminal illegal aliens OUT of our country," McLaughlin continued on X.
