Not really. It is an old tale. Newcomer to Washington comes in on the right and goes out on the left. They start going to all the DC dinner parties. All the DC socialites are left so in order to fit in the newcomer starts by not being disagreeable and soon is spouting lefty talking points. All because they want to belong.
