While failing President Emmanuel Macron goes gallivanting about, running interference in the Russia-Ukraine Peace Plan and pretending to tell people in other countries how to go about their businesses, France is slowly dying.
When Donald J. Trump’s administration talks about ‘civilizational erasure’, that’s what they’re talking about: Paris has had to cancel its traditional and world-famous New Year’s Eve Fête and Concert in the Champs Elysées.
Why? Because of fears of widespread migrant violence.
Congratulations, Macron – you finally screwed France beyond repair.

“The massive midnight concert that drew a jubilant crowd of a million people last year — with the festivities having drawn throngs to the ‘most beautiful avenue in the world’ for six decades — has been scrapped and replaced by a pre-recorded video to be viewed in the safety and comfort of French living rooms.
The fireworks will still illuminate the Arc de Triomphe when the clock strikes 12, but with officials urging revelers to watch on television rather than in person, the soirée will be a far cry from the famed French joie de vivre of years past.”
“The famed avenue has become a flashpoint of violence lately, with throngs of young, mostly Muslim migrants streaming in from Paris’ infamous suburbs at night looking for trouble, looting lux stores, and brawling with Parisians and police.
The Paris police, which pressed the mayor to scrap the concert, cited security concerns such as ‘unpredictable crowd movements’ without going into details – but critics loudly blamed France’s open-door immigration policies.”

Germany Sends Troops Into Poland ‘To Protect’ NATO’S East Border With Russia and Belarus

Germany is sending troops into Poland! Calm down – it’s not 1939. But it could end up just as bad.
Today (13), it has been reported that Germany is sending soldiers to Poland, in a bid to ‘strengthen’ NATO’s eastern border with Belarus and Russia.
Politico reported:
“Several dozen German soldiers will join Poland’s East Shield from April 2026, with the mission initially running until the end of 2027, Deutsche Welle reported, citing Berlin’s defense ministry.
German troops will focus on engineering work, according to a ministry spokesperson quoted in the report. The spokesperson described this as building positions, digging trenches, laying barbed wire and constructing anti-tank obstacles.
The East Shield is a €2.3 billion program announced by Warsaw last year to bolster security along its eastern border.”
Deutsche Welle reported:
“The Defense Ministry said on Saturday that several dozen German soldiers were set to join Poland’s Operation Eastern Shield from April 2026, with the mission initially running until the end of 2027.
A ministry spokesperson said the core task of the German troops in northern and eastern Poland would be engineering work.
This was described as building positions, digging trenches, laying barbed wire and constructing anti-tank obstacles. No further duties are planned.
[…] The deployment does not require parliamentary approval, the ministry said, because it is not considered an armed foreign mission under German law and is not expected to expose troops to direct military confrontation.”

US identifies dozens of tankers for possible seizure

Washington is gearing up for a wave of tanker seizures off Venezuela as the Trump administration revives and escalates sanctions enforcement against the country’s oil trade.
A day after announcing the dramatic capture of a stateless VLCC (pictured) carrying sanctioned Venezuelan crude, the US treasury on Thursday sanctioned six additional VLCCs and their operating companies – the first ships targeted for Venezuelan oil movements since Trump’s final day in office in January 2021.
The newly sanctioned vessels, all linked to what US officials call “deceptive and unsafe shipping practices”, are accused of providing financial lifelines to Nicolás Maduro’s “corrupt narco-terrorist regime”.
“Treasury is holding the regime and its circle of cronies and companies accountable for its continued crimes,” US treasury secretary Scott Bessent said. “Nicolás Maduro and his criminal associates in Venezuela are flooding the United States with drugs that are poisoning the American people. These sanctions undo the Biden administration’s failed attempt to make a deal with Maduro.”
The White House underscored on Thursday that the crackdown is nowhere near finished. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the US “will continue executing the president’s sanctions policies”.
“We’re not going to stand by and watch sanctioned vessels sail the seas with black market oil, the proceeds of which will fuel narcoterrorism of rogue and illegitimate regimes around the world,” she said.
On the seized VLCC, Leavitt confirmed: “As you know, the vessel will go to a US port, and the United States does intend to seize the oil. However, there is a legal process for the seizure of that oil, and that legal process will be followed.”
Multiple US officials told Reuters more seizures are on the way. “Further direct interventions … are expected in the coming weeks targeting ships carrying Venezuelan oil that may also have transported oil from other countries targeted by US sanctions, such as Iran,” the agency reported, citing sources familiar with the plans.
One source added that the US has already drawn up a target list of additional sanctioned tankers.
More than 80 vessels were loaded or waiting to load off Venezuela on Wednesday, including over 30 already under US sanctions, according to TankerTrackers.com – offering ample targets for what is shaping up to be the most aggressive US maritime enforcement campaign in years. The US has deployed 15,000 troops and sent warships to the Caribbean in the biggest military build-up there since 1962’s Cuban missile crisis.
Venezuela’s government has blasted the US seizure of the VLCC off its coast as “blatant theft” and “an act of international piracy.” Interior minister Diosdado Cabello escalated the rhetoric further, labelling the US “murderers, thieves, [and] pirates.” Caracas said it will take the case to international bodies, vowing to formally denounce the incident on the global stage.
