I have the same thoughts. I've always had my problems with the bloodshed of entire nations and especially with the chosen people (full of liars and murderers!) Now I've been deeper into Gnosticism for some time and this teaching has given me the last point I need as proof to recognize who the so-called God of the OT is.
The texts of Nag Hammadi are very clear and I have finally peace in my soul!
