3) resize the image, you may have to go quite small, make sure the connect box is linked
4) do stuff to your image and save.
5) image >merge visible layers
6) image >flatten
7) export as jpeg or jpg
8) when the export image dialoge pops up, quality >20-40 this lowers the size moar, the lower the number the smaller the file.
