LIVE: Press conference on Brown University mass shooting

Providence Police and the Rhode Island attorney general are claiming there is no video of the shooter inside the building. Only video showing the chaos of the aftermath. The explanation being that the shooting happened in an old section of the building with few, if any, cameras, and after the shooting, the students ran into a newer addition with cameras.

Brown University president: I know nothing about webpages being taken down as part of this. It's the first I'm hearing of it.

Rhode Island attorney general: There is no footage that depicts this individual, that would be useful in identifying him, that we have not released to you…there is no mass surveillance.

Rhode Island attorney general: I know the name that you're asking about [Mustapha Kharbouch]. I am familiar with it…I asked my team about it, and I think this is an area where caution is really necessary. There are lots of reasons why a page might be taken down, particularly if there's chatter out there about words that were spoken [allahu akbar]. It's easy to jump from someone saying words were that were spoken, to what those words are, to a particular name, that reflects a motive targeting a particular person. That's a really dangerous road to go down. If that name meant anything to this investigation, we would be out looking for that person, we would let you know that we're looking for that person.
