DOJ Misses Deadline For Full Epstein Files Release, Will Instead Stagger 'To Protect Victims'

The Department of Justice will miss today's deadline to release the 'full' Epstein files to Congress as required under new legislation Trump signed into law last month.

Instead, the Justice Department will release "several hundred thousand" documents today, "and then over the next couple weeks, I expect several hundred thousand more," Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told Fox News, citing the need to redact any names or identifying information about witnesses.

"So today is the 30 days when I expect that we’re going to release several hundred thousand documents today. And those documents will come in in all different forms, photographs and other materials associated with, with all of the investigations into, into Mr. Epstein," Blanche said.

"What we’re doing is we are looking at every single piece of paper that we are going to produce, making sure that every victim, their name, their identity, their story, to the extent it needs to be protected, is completely protected. And so I expect that we’re going to release more documents over the next couple of weeks. So today, several hundred thousand and then over the next couple weeks, I expect several hundred thousand more."

EU Folds On Russian Asset 'Reparations', Commits $105BN Loan To Ukraine

Europe has folded rather quickly on EU leaders' controversial plan to confiscate Russian assets held in Belgium's depository Euroclear to use as a reparations loan for Ukraine.

On Friday it became clear in the two day Brussels summit the EU was unable to agree on the plan, but instead has opted to raise €90 billion ($105 billion) in joint borrowing, with Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia choosing not to take part.

Not only had objecting member states like Hungary sent EU leaders scrambling to circumvent a normal vote, but Belgium has remained unwavering in insisting on unlimited guarantees tied to assets held on its territory.

Fearing immediate Russian retaliation, Belgium wanted assurance that the rest of the EU would step in and absorb whatever retaliatory measures, including lawsuits, would result from the asset seizure.

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever recently summed up the dilemma best: "We do not wish to be at war with Russia. We must negotiate based on reality, not fantasy. In reality, you don’t steal money from a foreign central bank. Stealing from a central bank is like robbing an embassy."

So it appears EU leadership has backed down, perhaps having learned their lesson from Biden weaponizing the dollar early in the Ukraine war. As a reminder, here's what President Vladimir Putin had to say by way of warning back in spring of 2024:

"The dollar is the cornerstone of the United States’ power… it is the main weapon used by the U.S. to preserve its power across the world," the Russian leader said. "As soon as the political leadership decided to use the dollar as a tool of political struggle, a blow was dealt to this American power."

As for the failed effort to permanently seize the some 210 billion euros ($247bn) in Russian assets held in Europe, EU officials had played down the possibility of an alternative plan right up to the eve of the summit.

Pay Attention: NORTHCOM General Says He Is Willing To Authorize Attacks On US Soil

A four-star general has affirmed a willingness to carry out strikes inside the United States against those the administration deems as threats. With the state of increasingly hostile rhetoric against large swaths of the American population and a history of preparation to match, this is a threat that cannot be ignored.

The possibility of lethal strikes against those designated as "terrorists" within America's borders is apparently a potential scenario the military is willing to undertake. This is according to testimony given before the Senate Armed Services Committee last week by General Gregory Guillot of U.S. Northern Command.

During the hearing, when asked by Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I) if he would be willing to carry out orders to attack so-called designated terrorist organizations within US borders, General Guillot responded by saying:

“If I had questions, I would elevate that to the chairman and the secretary. … And if I had no concerns and I was confident in the lawful order, I would definitely execute that order.”

The brazen openness of Gen. Guillot, who receives his orders directly from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, to affirm such a willingness to carry out unprecedented military action up to and including against U.S. citizens on American soil should be cause for alarm.

And while some may look at the qualifier in his statement — "if I had no concerns and I was confident in the lawful order" — as some kind of buffer against abuse, it bears reminding the frequency with which this administration has shown a blatant disregard for the rule of law while simultaneously advancing openly hostile rhetoric towards huge swaths of the American public, referring to millions of average Americans as "the enemy within" for expressing dissent against the administration.

Furthermore, general Guillot is the authority who has personally overseen the illegal deployment of U.S. military forces to occupy American cities which have expressed opposition to the president's agendas throughout the year, particularly those opposed to the rampant lawlessness of immigration officials as they behave with brutal impunity on American streets. When scrutinized by constitutional attorneys and other legal experts such deployments have consistently been found to be unconstitutional.

It should also be considered that these statements come on the backdrop of a spate of extrajudicial executions at sea, during which the US Southern Command under the direction of the Department of War have blatantly and unconstitutionally murdered over 90 individuals accused of being "narco terrorists" without any proof or due process. Actions which amount to some of the most blatant violations of international law in recent years.

Speaking to The Intercept, Sarah Harrison, who previously served as associate general counsel at the Pentagon’s Office of General Counsel, International Affairs, stated thusly —

“After the military has conducted 95 summary executions of civilians in the Caribbean at the direction of Trump and Hegseth, it is not sufficient anymore for commanders to say to lawmakers that they will run any legal concerns up the chain — at the top of which are those who would be giving the order. Rather, to make clear they will uphold the rule of law, they should be definitive in saying that they will disobey patently unlawful orders, which include the scenario Senator Reed laid out for Gen. Guillot.”

Report: U.S.-Sanctioned Colombian Mercenary Recruitment Network for Sudan’s RSF Using U.K. Registered Firms

A Colombian mercenary recruitment network for the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF) insurgent militia is using U.K. registered firms, an investigation conducted by the Guardian revealed on Friday.

RSF is a paramilitary group responsible for a litany of heinous actions and war crimes in the ongoing Sudanese civil war. Earlier this month, the U.S. imposed sanctions on a transnational network that recruited, trained, and deployed hundreds Colombians to fight for RSF.

The sanctions targeted two Colombian individuals as the leaders of the network: Alvaro Quijano and his wife Claudia Oliveros. The Guardian reported that both are described by the U.K.’s Companies House as living in Britain.

The Guardian explained that it found connections between the hired mercenaries and addresses in London. One of the addresses points to a “cramped, second-floor apartment” close to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that, according to U.K. government records, is tied to the mercenary recruitment network.

The flat in Tottenham is registered to a company called Zeuz Global, set up by two individuals named and sanctioned last week by the U.S. treasury for hiring Colombian mercenaries to fight for the RSF,” The Guardian wrote.

Both sanctioned individuals are reportedly named in Companies House records as owning initial shareholdings” of Zeuz Global, with Oliveros, who describes Britain as her “country of residence,” named as a person of “significant control” of the company.

The Guardian explained that Zeus Global is active and “abruptly” moved its operations to another location in London one day after the U.S. sanctions hit.

“Its new postcode matches One Aldwych, a five-star hotel in Covent Garden,” the newspaper detailed. “Yet the first line of Zeuz Global’s new address is, confusingly, ‘4dd Aldwych,’ which corresponds to the Waldorf Hilton hotel 100 metres away.”

Tensions In Eastern Mediterranean: Greece, Israel, And Cyprus To Confront Turkey With Joint Force

Israel, Greece, and Cyprus are working on a fast response force with 2,500 troops to counter Turkish influence, Greek newspaper TA NEA reported on December 17.

According to the report, which cites top defense officials, Greece is considering implementing Israeli measures and offering a coordinated response mechanism to protect against potential threats from “enemy states”.

The report explains that Israel, Greece, and Cyprus will have access to this force, which will have dedicated air and sea capabilities.

“A Greek-Israeli rapid reaction force is not an alliance against anyone. It fills a strategic void. From Rhodes to Cyprus and Israel, platforms, pipelines, and electricity cables are exposed,” one of the officials told the newspaper.

They also stressed that the force will not only be important for Greece but for Europe as a whole, as a key asset for delivering natural gas, oil, and electricity to the continent.

This force would include 1,000 troops from Greece, 1,000 from Israel, and 500 others from Cyprus. The Israeli and Greek air forces would also participate, each providing one squadron, according to TA NEA.

The fall of the regime of former President Bashar al-Assad in Syria tipped the balance of power in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea in favor of Turkey, whose allies now rule most of the country including its coast. An alliance between Israel, Greece and Cyprus began to merge in response.

In September, tensions with Turkey flared up over the delivery of Israeli-made Barak MX long-range air defense systems to Cyprus.

Turkish defense officials warned at the time that Southern Cyprus’s ongoing armament efforts would threaten peace and stability on the island and may lead to “dangerous consequences.”

The latest agreement between the European Union and Canada to collaborate on mutually recognized digital IDs is simply another step in what I have been warning about for years. Whenever government confidence collapses, the political class tightens control. Digital ID is not about convenience; it is about tracking capital and controlling movement as the global sovereign-debt crisis accelerates.

The danger here is obvious. Mutual recognition means a unified framework. They’re building a foundation to establish a GLOBAL digital ID. Once these systems talk to one another, you have created the architecture for a worldwide database controlled by the political elite. This is precisely what the EU has been pushing with its Digital Services Act and the infamous “digital wallet” proposal. Now they are exporting it, just as they exported their disastrous ideas on Net Zero and financial regulation. Canada, collapsing economically and politically, is following Brussels into the abyss.

The EU and Canada will jointly test a pilot for digital identity wallets. Why do two separate continents need their systems to integrate? You cannot have a cross-border digital ID without a central authority. And once the state has the ability to monitor every transaction, every movement, every piece of identification, they will inevitably link this to taxation, travel permissions, banking access, and even political compliance. This is how governments always respond in the final stage of their fiscal life cycle. Rome imposed travel permits. The Soviet Union created the internal passport. Now the West is doing the same with better technology.

Capital will flee regions that move toward centralized digital identification. This is why we are seeing the migration of capital away from Europe and increasingly away from Canada. Both are moving toward a Marxist model where the citizen exists solely to fund the state. The push for digital ID aligns perfectly with the rising authoritarian wave into 2032 as governments fight to retain power in the face of systemic collapse.

Netanyahu is exploiting the Bondi Beach massacre to build support for the Gaza genocide and is fueling antisemitism in the process

Benjamin Netanyahu is blaming the attack at Bondi Beach on Australia's support for Palestinian statehood. He conflates Jewish safety with Zionism to garner support for Israel, but in doing so, he enlists all Jews as agents of Palestinian oppression.

At an Israeli government meeting following the Bondi Beach massacre, Netanyahu admonished the Australian government and its Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, for its supposed role. This rhetorical attack aimed not only to delegitimize support for Palestinian statehood but also to garner support for the continuing genocide in Gaza. It does not seem to matter that the shooters, a father and a son of Pakistani Muslim background, are reported to have been inspired by ISIS and not a Palestinian cause as such. Israel never misses an opportunity to incite against Palestinians.

This is what Netanyahu said during the three and half minute long rant, in English. He started like this:

“On August 17th, about four months ago, I sent Prime Minister Albanese of Australia a letter, in which I gave him warning, that the Australian government’s policy was promoting and encouraging antisemitism in Australia. I wrote: ‘Your call for a Palestinian state pours fuel on the antisemitic fire. It rewards Hamas terrorists. It emboldens those who menace Australian Jews, and encourages the Jew hatred now stalking your streets. Antisemitism is a cancer. It spreads when leaders stay silent. It retreats when leaders act. I call upon you to replace weakness with action, appeasement with resolve’.

Instead, Prime Minister, you replaced weakness with weakness, and appeasement with more appeasement. Your government did nothing to stop the spread of antisemitism in Australia, you did nothing to curb the cancer cells that were growing inside your country, you took no action, you let the disease spread, and the result is the horrific attacks on Jews we saw today.”

So, following the Bondi Beach attack, Netanyahu is basically saying, “I told you so.”

The “appeasement” narrative is one that Netanyahu likes a lot, because it alludes to the appeasement policy of Britain towards Nazi Germany under PM Neville Chamberlain, who sought at the time to play soft with Hitler. The analogy turns Palestinians into Nazis, and those who seek to ‘appease’ them, weaklings and antisemites. For Netanyahu, antisemitism is a cancer, and who embodies it? Palestinians.

Netanyahu continued to apply pressure on Albanese, and in turn, any other leaders in the West who are considering supporting the Palestinians:

“We saw an action of a brave man, turns out a Muslim brave man [Netanyahu first claimed he was Jewish], that stopped one of these terrorists from killing innocent Jews. But it requires the action of your government, which you’re not taking, and you have to, because history will not forgive hesitation and weakness – it will honor action and strength. That’s what Israel expects of each of your governments in the West, and elsewhere. Because the disease spreads, and it will consume you as well. But we are worrying right now about our people, our safety, and we do not remain silent”.

And he then expanded his analogy to lump the Bondi Beach attack in with recent news from Syria, Gaza, and Lebanon:

“We fight those who try to annihilate us. They’re not only trying to annihilate us, they attack us because they attack the West. In Syria, we saw yesterday two American soldiers killed, and one American interpreter killed as well, killed because they represent our common culture. Now as a result of this, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the following. He said ‘let it be known, that if you target Americans anywhere in the world, you will spend the rest of your brief, anxious life, knowing the United States will hunt you, find you, and ruthlessly kill you’. We send our condolences to the people of America, and I want to say that our policy is exactly that policy. That’s why those who target Israelis, target our soldiers, try to kill them, or try to hurt them and wound them, as happened in Gaza yesterday – we take action. They will spend the rest of their brief, anxious lives knowing that Israel will hunt them, find them, and ruthlessly dispose of them. That is American policy, this is Israel’s policy. It’s our policy in Gaza, Lebanon, anywhere around us. We do not sit by and let these killers kill us.”
