Charlie Kirk's ancestor, John Nutting, migrated to New England during the Puritan Great Migration (1620-1640); was the land steward for John Winthrop, settled in Groton MA which was a very dangerous place at the time: one hundred years before American Independence.

He, John Nutting was killed by Indians during a raid against Groton and his head was severed and put on a pole by the Indians to discourage others from settling in the area.
