Nailed it, anon. It's rumored head of FBI Hoover even visited brothels (male prostitutes, of course) there while visiting the intelligence base you did so well to name. Few know that most American music during the mid 60's to late 70's came out of Laurel Canyon. Nearly all the successful artists of the time have deep connections to the Military INTELIGENCE complex. Jim Morrison's Dad starting the Vietnam War is just the very tip of that unbelievable iceberg.
