Unicorn, Fox Fur and Christmas Tree
A star forming region cataloged as NGC 2264, this beautiful but complex arrangement of interstellar gas and dust is about 2,700 light-years distant in the faint but fanciful constellation Monoceros, the Unicorn. Seen toward the celestial equator and near the plane of our Milky Way galaxy, the seasonal skyscape mixes reddish emission nebulae excited by energetic light from newborn stars with dark interstellar dust clouds. Where the otherwise obscuring dust clouds lie close to the hot, young stars, they also reflect starlight, forming blue reflection nebulae. In fact, bright variable star S Monocerotis is immersed in a blue-tinted haze near center. Arrayed with a simple triangular outline above S Monocerotis, the stars of NGC 2264 are popularly known as the Christmas Tree star cluster. Carved by energetic starlight, the Cone Nebula sits upside down at the apex of this cosmic Christmas tree while the dusty, convoluted pelt of glowing gas and dust under the tree is called the Fox Fur Nebula. This rich telescopic frame spans about 1.5 degrees or 3 full moons on the sky top to bottom, covering nearly 80 light-years at the distance of NGC 2264.

From 3I/ATLAS to SWAN: How 2025 became the year of the comet
25 Dec 2025 14:18
The year 2025 has captivated stargazers worldwide as three remarkable comets surged into the inner solar system, dazzling observers as they endured close encounters with the sun before re-emerging and speeding back into the depths of space, never to return.
Among these celestial visitors — the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, along with C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) and C/2025 R2 (SWAN) — not all withstood the intense bombardment of solar radiation unscathed, News.Az reports, citing Space.com.
Some fragmented or faded, while others captured global attention, driven by their scientific importance and, in certain cases, by waves of misinformation that circulated alongside legitimate observations.
As 2025 draws to a close, we revisit six of the most unforgettable comet-related moments of the year, highlighted by breathtaking astrophotography, the surprising arrival of an interstellar intruder, and the spectacular destruction of an icy traveler from the distant Oort Cloud.
Interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS
Comet 3I/ATLAS was discovered on July 1, 2025, by the NASA-funded ATLAS telescope in Rio Hurtado, Chile and was quickly confirmed to be just the third interstellar visitor to our solar system, after 1I'Oumuamua and 2I/Borisov.
Its exotic nature quickly seized the interest of the scientific community and the imagination of the public while simultaneously sending the conspiracy-peddling community into a frenzy, some of whom claimed that 3I/ATLAS was an alien spacecraft that had voyaged to the heliosphere for reasons unknown.
Follow-up observations confirmed 3I/ATLAS to be the brightest and potentially the largest interstellar object discovered to date, measuring up to 3.5 miles (5.6 kilometers) in diameter, based on observations from the Hubble Space Telescope, according to NASA.
1/2
An icy Lemmon
If 3I/ATLAS was the most scientifically riveting of the cometary trio, C/2026 A6 (Lemmon) was arguably the most dynamic and photogenic.
Comet Lemmon was discovered on Jan. 3 earlier this year and swiftly became a popular target among the astrophotography community, as it brightened from +21.5 to naked eye visibility around its close approach to the sun —known as perihelion — on Nov. 8.
Astrophotographers kept C/2026 A6 (Lemmon) firmly locked in their field of view throughout its journey, capturing each stage of its dramatic evolution.
As it approached the sun, the increase in heat radiation caused icy matter in the comet's central nucleus to sublimate into gas, dragging dust particles with it.
The resulting cloud of cometary debris was then snatched up by the charged particles pouring out from the sun — called the solar wind — giving rise to a spectacular tail.
Astronomer Gianluca Masi captured a rare shot of the cosmic wanderer, when a glowing meteor tail in Earth's upper atmosphere appeared to wrap itself around Comet Lemmon's distant tail as it passed through the constellation Serpens on Oct. 24, creating a "a pure perspective miracle".
A cosmic SWAN
While Comet Lemmon's complex tail snagged the attention of astrophotographers worldwide, others took aim at the solar system wanderer C/2025 R2 (SWAN), which put on a magnificent show on Oct. 17, as it passed in front of the Eagle Nebula in the constellation Serpens.
Daniele Gasparri captured a striking view of C/2025 R2 (SWAN)'s vivid green coma as it hung in the pristine skies above the Atacama Desert in Chile, with the vast emission nebula serving as a jaw-dropping backdrop for the cometary body.
The pillars of creation, vast columns of interstellar dust and gas shaped by the radiation of nearby stars and made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope, can be seen nestled in the glowing heart of the vast nebula, to the left of the comet's glowing central nucleus.
Comet 3I/Atlas reaches perihelion
Oct. 30 marked the climax of interstellar traveller 3I/ATLAS's headlong charge into the inner solar system, as it made its closest approach to the sun, passing 125 million miles (202 million km) from our parent star at the point of perihelion.
The event occurred just as 3I/ATLAS flew behind the sun from the perspective of Earth, robbing some of humanity's most powerful observatories of the chance to analyze the comet's chemical composition as it reached a peak of activity.
Thankfully, perihelion was observed from elsewhere in the solar system by a flotilla of spacecraft orbiting Mars and travelling through interplanetary space.
3I/ATLAS finally emerged intact from behind the glare of the sun to become visible to Earthbound astronomers and skywatchers in early November, though it remained too dim to spot with the naked eye.
NASA subsequently held a press conference on Nov. 19 following the re-opening of the federal government, where it revealed several new images of the interstellar invader that documented its glowing central nucleus, sun-facing jet and growing tail.
Conspiracy theorists were left somewhat broken-hearted by NASA Associate Administrator Amit Kshatriya, who noted, "It looks and behaves like a comet, and all evidence points to it being a comet", as opposed to the technologically advanced spaceship suggested by others.
K1 Atlas breakup
One of the most dramatic cometary moments of 2025 occurred on the night of Nov. 11, when astronomers tracked the solar system comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) as its central nucleus broke into three massive pieces, following its close pass of the sun on Oct. 8.
The comet may have crumbled during its first visit to the inner solar system from the shell of icy material which surrounds its outer edge, known as the Oort Cloud.
The increase in heat radiation experienced during perihelion may have created a violent and sudden outflow of material from the nucleus, which could have undermined its structure, leading to the fracturing seen on Nov. 11, according to Elena Mazzotta Epifani of the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics.

Zelensky issues veiled insult at Putin in ‘Christmas’ address
24 Dec, 2025 19:45
Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky used his Christmas Eve address to wish for a certain unnamed man, presumably Russian President Vladimir Putin, “to perish,” before urging Ukrainians to pray for a greater wish – peace for the country.
In a video message published on Wednesday on his Telegram channel, Zelensky linked his remarks to Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory and framed the holiday as a moment of national unity.
“Today, we all share one dream … ‘May he perish,’ each of us may think to ourselves,” Zelensky said, in a veiled reference to the Russian president, without naming him.
“But when we turn to God, of course, we ask for something greater,” he added.
Despite the ongoing Russia-US efforts to reach a peaceful settlement to the conflict, Zelensky and Kiev’s European backers have been undermining the process by repeatedly making unacceptable demands.
On Wednesday, Zelensky unveiled a 20-point draft peace framework which he claims Kiev has been discussing with the US, presenting the document as a proposed basis for ending the hostilities.
The proposal fails to address some key Russian concerns, such as Kiev’s claims to former Ukrainian territories that joined Russia in 2022, and its insistence on maintaining an 800,000-strong standing army supported by NATO nations.
Moscow has yet to officially respond to the proposal. Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia is open to negotiations but insists that any settlement must address the root causes of the conflict and reflect the territorial reality on the ground.
Ukraine used to celebrate Christmas on January 7 in line with Orthodox tradition, but in 2023 Zelensky proposed observing the holiday on December 25, like in Catholic and Protestant churches.
He claimed that the move would help “abandon the Russian heritage… reject Russian traditions, and fortify national unity in Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) said it will not abide by the order to celebrate Christmas on a new date.
Ukraine has been experiencing religious tensions for years, with the Kiev government openly supporting the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), which the UOC and Russian Orthodox Church view as schismatic.
Last year, Zelensky signed legislation allowing the state to ban religious organizations affiliated with governments that the Ukrainian authorities deem “aggressors,” effectively banning the UOC, which Kiev accuses of links with Moscow.
A number of UOC properties have been seized and criminal cases opened against some of its clerics since the escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022.

Kremlin responds to Zelensky’s ‘unhinged’ Christmas address
25 Dec, 2025 11:42
Vladimir Zelensky’s “strange” Christmas address raises concerns over the Ukrainian leader’s ability to make any rational decisions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
Zelensky published a video on his Telegram channel on Wednesday in which he wished Ukrainians a happy upcoming Christmas.
However, in the same video, he also wished for a certain unnamed person – presumably Russian President Vladimir Putin – “to perish” before urging everyone to pray for peace.
Commenting on the video, Peskov said it appeared “uncultured, embittered, and coming from a seemingly unhinged person.”
“One wonders if he’s capable of making any rational decisions towards a political and diplomatic settlement,” the Kremlin spokesman added, referring to the ongoing Russia-US efforts to end the Ukraine conflict.
Moscow has accused Kiev and its European backers of repeatedly undermining peace talks by making unacceptable demands.
Earlier this week, Zelensky unveiled Kiev’s 20-point version of the peace plan initially proposed by the US. In it, he largely ignored Russia’s concerns, demanding territorial concessions from Moscow despite its ongoing military gains.
He also insisted on maintaining an 800,000-strong army, NATO-style security guarantees, expedited EU membership, and hundreds of billions in Western investments.
The plan also removed provisions linked to Russian language rights and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, replacing them with loosely worded commitments to develop educational programs to promote tolerance and anti-racism.
Moscow has declined to comment on the proposal, but noted that it is being analyzed. Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia is open to negotiations but insists that any settlement must address the root causes of the conflict and reflect the territorial reality on the ground.

Ukrainian draft officer pepper-sprays woman holding child – media
25 Dec, 2025 09:37
A Ukrainian conscription official has been filmed appearing to pepper-spray a woman holding a child during a recruitment raid.
The mandatory military draft, which Kiev enforces to replenish combat losses in the conflict with Russia, is an increasingly contentious issue in Ukraine, as many eligible men evade service through bribery or by hiding from officials.
Kiev claims most videos showing brutal tactics are fabrications and says internal investigations usually find no wrongdoing.
The incident, highlighted by Ukrainian online media on Wednesday, reportedly occurred in the western city of Rovno. Footage that went viral was filmed by a resident in a nearby building.
Previous videos of so-called ‘busification’ have shown Ukrainian officials using a flammable spray to smoke out a would-be recruit from a locked car, or even firing weapons during clashes. In some cases, force has been used against women as well as men.
One infamous mass incident occurred in Vinnitsa in August, when a group of women trying to rescue relatives stormed a local stadium where recruits were detained, and officers used batons to fend them off.
Another incident was recorded in Kiev later that month, where a female officer wrestled with a woman defending her partner and kicked her in the stomach. The civilian then screamed that she was pregnant.

Ukrainian ‘terrorist’ shot dead in Russia – FSB
25 Dec, 2025 13:17
A Ukrainian agent who planned terrorist attacks in Russia has been shot dead while resisting arrest, the Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Thursday.
The suspect, born in Soviet Ukraine in the late 1970s and living in Kaluga, Russia, was preparing bomb attacks against a natural gas storage facility and a defense plant parking lot, the FSB said.
Acting on orders from Ukrainian special services, he had allegedly produced about 80kg of homemade explosives for the plot.
The agency reported that the suspect had also retrieved 300g of military-grade plastic explosives, fuses, and a handgun from a stash prepared by other Ukrainian assets. He shot the firearm at officers trying to apprehend him and was killed by return fire.
The FSB released footage showing the individual’s body, his bombmaking arsenal, and the recovery of several plastic bottles from a stash, presumably used to hide the home-made explosives.
Earlier this week, the FSB reported foiling a Ukrainian terrorist attack in Tyumen Region in Western Siberia. The suspect in the case was also killed after being caught retrieving bomb components.
Russian officials have repeatedly accused Kiev of escalating bomb attacks inside Russia due to its failure to achieve victories on the battlefield. Ukrainian forces have suffered several setbacks in Donbass in recent months amid reported shortages of reinforcements.

Ukraine talks must be behind closed doors – Kremlin
24 Dec, 2025 23:36
Any Ukraine peace talks should be held “behind closed doors” rather than through megaphone diplomacy, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
Speaking to Russian business daily RBK on Wednesday, Peskov declined to weigh in on a Bloomberg report claiming that Moscow is seeking changes to a 20‑point peace plan draft, which was purportedly negotiated by US and Ukrainian delegations.
“No, there will be no comments here. We continue to believe that everything should be conducted behind closed doors,” he said.
On Wednesday, Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky unveiled a plan that would require Russian forces to withdraw from Ukraine’s Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, and Nikolayev regions, while freezing the conflict along current front lines in Russia’s Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson regions.
Zelensky has also demanded “Article 5-like” security guarantees from the US, NATO, and European states.
According to Bloomberg, Moscow views the 20-point peace plan as a “starting point for further negotiations” but “lack[ing] provisions important for Russia” and “fail[ing] to answer many questions.”
Moscow in particular is reportedly seeking guarantees against future NATO expansion and on Ukraine’s neutral status if it joins the EU.
It also reportedly wants stricter limits on Ukrainian armed forces, while believing that the document does not provide clear assurances on the status of the Russian language in Ukraine.
Bloomberg also reported that Russia wants clarity on the issue of removing sanctions and on frozen Russian state assets.
Zelensky’s roadmap is a far cry from the initial 28‑point version of the US-drafted plan, which was leaked to the media last month.
The plan reportedly required Kiev to relinquish parts of Russia’s Donbass region still under Ukrainian control, pledge not to join NATO, and cut the size of its armed forces. Kiev has repeatedly rejected any concessions.
Moscow has said the US-drafted document could serve as a basis for future negotiations.
Russia maintains that a sustainable settlement is only possible if Ukraine recognizes new territorial realities and commits to neutrality, demilitarization, and denazification.

Moscow under Christmas Day drone onslaught as Ukraine hits back
10:18, 25 Dec 2025
Russian air defences were forced to defend against a major Ukrainian Christmas drone attack on Moscow, it emerged this morning.
The overnight onslaught began on Christmas Eve and continued throughout the night, forcing air defences to shoot down the weapons.
Overall as many as 141 Ukrainian drones were fired towards Russia even as Kyiv signalled it was willing to agree to the latest peace proposals.
It is believed at least 36 of the unmanned kamikaze weapons were aimed at Moscow, which is mulling over new suggestions for peace.
All of Moscow’s airports were forced to cease flights throughout the incoming drones alert. The new drone assault on Moscow was the first attack on the Russian couple in about two weeks as Kyiv has been targeting Kremlin oil installations.
Kyiv’s Yuletide attack came as many Ukrainians prepared to mark December 25 today as Christmas Day in a departure from their traditional Russian calendar.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin sent bombers towards Britain on a long-range Christmas flight over the Norwegian Sea.
NATO was forced to scramble warplanes to monitor the Russian Su-33 fighter jets and escorted the long-range bombers away.
Moscow’s defence ministry said: "Tu-95MS long-range bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces made a scheduled flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea.
"At certain stages of the route, long-range bombers were escorted by fighter jets of foreign countries," said the Russian statement, which did not identify which NATO air forces had intercepted the Tu-95MS aircraft.
The Norwegian Sea lies to the northeast of Scotland, between Norway and Iceland.
1/2
The planes have also been used to launch devastating conventional missile strikes causing large-scale death and destruction in Ukraine.
Earlier this month, NATO fighter jets were scrambled following one of the harshest missile onslaughts on Ukraine by Putin's forces.
So far in the war Russia has lost a staggering 1,201230 troops to either death or injury on the frontline in Ukraine, 11,456 tanks and 434 warplanes.
It has also lost 28 warships and is still struggling to make advances in the disputed Donbas region, much of which it now controls.
Tensions are mounting over fresh peace proposals to make the Donbas region into a free economic zone with both sides withdrawing their forces, a deal Russia is unlikely to agree to.
Two Moscow police officers died in an explosion on Christmas Eve, along with a third person.
They were standing close to where a Russian general died in a blast on Monday. The officers have been named by Russian media as Ilya Klimanov, 24, and Maxim Gorbunov, 25 who are said to have served in the military against Ukraine.
Ukrainian military sources told the BBC the two officers killed had "participated in hostilities against Ukraine." There was also a suggestion they may have participated in torture of prisoners.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is willing to withdraw troops from the country's eastern industrial heartland to end Russia's war, if Moscow also pulls back and the area becomes a demilitarised zone monitored by international forces.
The proposal offered another potential compromise on control of the disputed Donbas region.
Mr Zelensky said the US proposed the creation of a "free economic zone", which he said should be demilitarised.
Mr Zelensky spoke to reporters on Tuesday to describe an overarching 20-point plan that negotiators from Ukraine and the US hammered out in Florida in recent days.
Russia has given no indication that it will agree to any kind of withdrawal. In fact, Moscow has insisted that Ukraine relinquish the remaining territory it still holds in the Donbas - an ultimatum that Ukraine has rejected.
Russia has captured most of Luhansk and about 70% of Donetsk - the two areas that make up the Donbas region.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow would decide its position based on information received by Russian presidential envoy Kirill the Donbas.
Dmitriev met US envoys in Florida over the weekend. Mr Zelensky said figuring out control of the Donbas region is "the most difficult point".
He said the US has not yet accepted Ukraine's proposals. And he added: "But we have significantly brought most of the positions closer together.
In principle, all other consensus in this agreement has been found between us and them." Mr Zelensky said a separate document with the US will outline security guarantees for Ukraine.

IDF, Shin Bet Eliminate Key Iranian Quds Force Terrorist in Lebanon Strike
December 25, 2025 9:47 am
The Israel Defense Forces and Israel’s Shin Bet security agency announced Thursday that they had eliminated a senior terrorist of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force in a joint operation in southern Lebanon.
Hussein Mahmoud Marshad al-Jawhari, described by the Israeli military as a key terrorist in the Quds Force’s operational Unit 840, was killed earlier in the day in the Ansariyah area.
According to a joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet, al-Jawhari had been involved in recent years in planning and advancing terror attacks against Israel from Syria and Lebanon.
He operated under the IRGC and was engaged in Iran-directed terror activities targeting Israel and its security forces, the statement said.
Unit 840, the operational arm of the Quds Force, is headed by Asghar Baqeri with Mohammad Reza Ansari as his deputy.
The unit is responsible for directing and overseeing Iranian terror activities against Israel, according to the Israeli announcement.
The IDF and Shin Bet said they view with great severity any attempt by the Iranian regime and its proxies to advance terror plans, and will continue to act to remove threats against Israel.

Drone capital of the world? Seattle could be a big winner in the U.S. crackdown on DJI and others
Dec 24, 2025 at 10:13 am
New federal restrictions on foreign-made drones, announced this week, promise to boost Washington state as a hub for domestic drone manufacturing — adding thousands or even tens of thousands of jobs in the process.
That’s the prediction from Blake Resnick, CEO of Seattle-based Brinc Drones, who says the region’s concentration of aerospace talent makes it uniquely positioned to benefit from the shift.
He cites the presence of companies including Boeing, Blue Origin, Amazon (with its Prime Air unit) and SpaceX, along with an existing base of aerospace suppliers and technicians.
“I don’t even think you have to look outside of Washington to find all the talent that’s needed to build an incredible, globally competitive drone company,” Resnick said in an interview.
The FCC this week added foreign-made drones to its list of equipment deemed national security threats. That blocks new foreign-made drone models from obtaining FCC equipment authorization — effectively preventing the import, marketing, and sale of new models.
The move primarily impacts Chinese giant DJI, which controls roughly 70% of the global drone market.
It has drawn sharp criticism from drone hobbyists, who worry it will drive up prices and limit access to affordable, high-quality options.
The Academy of Model Aeronautics warned that the move will “have huge implications for both the hobbyist and commercial airspace industries moving forward.”
There is a carve-out: existing models that have received prior FCC approval can still be sold, which means that the impact will unfold over an extended period of time.
But as current inventory depletes and DJI’s product line ages, U.S. manufacturers will need to scale up.
Resnick said he foresees a need for hundreds of thousands and potentially even millions of square feet of new manufacturing space across the U.S. drone industry.
Washington’s aerospace industry employs more than 77,000 workers directly and generates more than $71 billion in total economic activity, according to a July 2024 analysis by the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
That gives the region a major edge in drone production.
Resnick knows this first-hand. He relocated Brinc from Las Vegas to Seattle in 2021, drawn by the region’s engineering talent pool.
The company, which employs about 140 people, develops drones and related technology for police, fire, and emergency response agencies.
It closed a $75 million funding round and announced a strategic alliance with Motorola Solutions earlier this year.
Brinc has spent $660,000 on lobbying over the past three years, including advocacy for controls on Chinese-made drones, Forbes reported in a story on Resnick earlier this month.
The company’s prominence in the trade war has made it a target: In 2024, China formally sanctioned Brinc and Resnick, freezing any assets in the country and barring Resnick from entry.
Speaking with GeekWire this week, Resnick said DJI’s dominance stems from billions in Chinese government subsidies, making fair competition nearly impossible.
“Frankly, I think this just evens the playing field,” he said.
Brinc, which has manufacturing operations at its Seattle headquarters, has already shifted to a non-Chinese supply chain, sourcing components from Taiwan, Germany, the U.K., and Japan.
Resnick said the new restrictions will require a further shift toward domestic suppliers: “Moving forward, we are going to have to do a lot more business with American companies.”
Resnick said this shift ensures the U.S. industrial base remains resilient even if international partners face constraints during a conflict.
While the transition presents a hurdle, Resnick described it as an “organizational cost that we’re very happy to pay” in exchange for a market free of state-sponsored Chinese competition.
He acknowledged that there could be a price premium in the drone market overall as American suppliers scale up, a process he estimates will take two to three years.
When asked if he sees these events as an opening for Brinc to expand into other sectors, beyond public safety, Resnick didn’t entirely rule out the possibility.
“The free world,” he said, “needs more drone manufacturing capacity in a whole bunch of different verticals.”

Photos: Alien-like drone ‘rains’ chilled beers from sky using mini parachutes
Dec 25, 2025 11:17 AM EST
The first-of-its-kind MK1 drone by Stratos Beer features a distinctive spider-like silhouette, engineered specifically for the aerial transport of beverages.
Built from a combination of carbon fiber and aerospace-grade materials, the drone with “extraterrestrial design” utilizes folding propeller arms and aluminum joints to maintain a lightweight yet durable frame.
This structural design allows the machine to navigate various environments while protecting its liquid cargo within a central, keg-shaped fuselage.
“The MK1 beer delivery drone is a pioneer of its class. Fully automated and ready to go!” said the company on its official website.
Small parachutes allow for safe individual can delivery
This drone employs a specific release mechanism for individual beverage cans using small parachutes.
To ensure the cargo reaches the ground without damage, the system calculates the release point based on altitude and wind data.
The internal compartment is engineered to hold a maximum of eight cans, releasing them one at a time over the target location.
Autonomous systems manage flight paths
Onboard sensors and autonomous mapping software govern the flight paths and stability of the MK1.
These systems allow the drone to identify obstacles and maintain a steady position during the delivery process.
The technology is designed to provide a controlled flight from the initial takeoff point to the user's specific GPS coordinates.
Dedicated mobile application handles orders
Users interact with the delivery system through a dedicated mobile application that facilitates ordering and location tracking.
Once a destination is confirmed via GPS, the app transmits flight instructions directly to the drone. Throughout the transit process, the software provides the recipient with real-time status updates and proximity alerts.
Internal cooling systems keep beverages cold
To maintain the temperature of the beverages during transit, the drone includes an internal cooling system located within the storage area.
This hardware is intended to keep cans cold from the moment they leave the distribution center until they are deployed. This feature addresses the thermal changes that occur during outdoor aerial transport.
Drone carries large kegs for event delivery
In addition to individual cans, the drone is configured to transport a 5-liter mini keg for higher-volume requirements.
For this payload, the barrel is secured within a circular mount to prevent shifting during flight. Unlike the parachute method used for cans, the drone carries the keg to the ground and lands fully before allowing the cargo to be accessed.
Adjustable arms provide stability
The MK1 utilizes its folding propeller arms to create a stable base when landing on uneven surfaces to deliver a keg.
The keg itself is constructed from stainless steel and features reinforced brackets, rotating handles, and an internal pump for dispensing.
Once the delivery is complete and the keg is empty, the drone is programmed to return the hardware to the distribution site.
Stratos MK1 remains a conceptual design project
At this time, the Stratos MK1 exists as a design concept rather than a retail product.
There has been no official communication regarding the start of prototype testing or a schedule for commercial manufacturing.
So, the drone is not yet available for public use or industrial implementation.

UFO secret files, drone swarms and nuclear-linked sightings stun experts in 2025
December 25, 2025 6:00am EST
It was the year of the UFO in 2025. From new-age documentaries to decades-old mysterious reports coming to light, both experts and civilians have been baffled by a slew of new information regarding otherworldly objects appearing over the country’s skies.
Here is a look at the most compelling, out-of-this-world UFO headlines from 2025, as questions continue to swirl regarding the validity of such claims and whether we are truly alone in the universe.
Decades-old images reveal new UFO clues in strange bursts over nuclear test sites
Earlier this year, scientists at California’s Palomar Observatory discovered several instances of transient, star-like flashes in photographs taken over 70 years ago that may hold the key to answers regarding instances of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) – or UFOs – appearing near nuclear testing sites, according to a research paper published in Nature’s Scientific Reports on Oct. 20, 2025.
The images originated from digitized astronomical plates – pieces of glass that capture images of the night sky – compiled by the observatory from 1949 to 1957, while also predating the launch of the first artificial satellite in October 1957.
"We speculate that some transients could potentially be UAP in Earth orbit that, if descending into the atmosphere, might provide the stimulus for some UAP sightings," the paper states.
While many of the objects were determined by scientists to be errors or markings on the physical plates, thousands of other sightings reportedly correspond with various documented sightings of UFOs appearing near nuclear testing sites.
In one instance, bright objects were spotted in the night sky within the same two weeks when witnesses reported numerous UAPs above Washington, D.C., from July 19 to July 27, 1952, according to the report.
The final documented sighting within the timeframe was over a nuclear testing site on March 17, 1956, just one day after the "Joe 21" test conducted by the Soviet Union, according to the New York Post.
Researchers also subsequently observed transients hovering on at least 124 above-ground nuclear tests at sites that were active from 1951 until the launch of Sputnik in 1957.
However, further research reportedly led them to the conclusion that the phenomenon was the result of "high energy particles" present within the atmosphere, due to the nuclear testing materials.
Similarly, the study pointed to findings that revealed transients were 45% more likely to be spotted in the air within 24 hours of nuclear testing, with "significantly more" UAP sightings being documented within the test windows.
The researchers ultimately concluded that eyewitness sightings of star-like transient objects directly correlating with conditions created by nuclear weapons testing are "small but statistically-significant associations."
"Our findings provide additional empirical support for the validity of the UAP phenomenon and its potential connection to nuclear weapons activity, contributing data beyond eyewitness reports," the scientists wrote.
UFO-like drones target police helicopter over U.S. air base, vanish
Newly released police logs and video directly contradict explanations from officials regarding a near-collision between a U.K. police helicopter and UAPs over a United States air base last year, ultimately discrediting reports from officials claiming it was merely a routine fighter jet sighting.
According to documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the incident unfolded around 10 p.m. on Nov. 22, 2024, when a National Police Air Service (NPAS) EC135 helicopter was forced off-course as it took emergency evasive action after the pilot reported two fast-moving craft "targeted" and pursued the crew over RAF Lakenheath, a major U.S. military installation in Suffolk.
The move required the pilots to maneuver a steep dive to ultimately avoid crashing into the objects, which were matching the aircraft’s speed at roughly 190 mph in what was later described as an "unprovoked pursuit."
"They had to perform an emergency dive and described that they were pursued in the dive by two drones who matched their speed – and then pursued them for several minutes out of the area," one police entry states.
Separate police reports compiled between Nov. 20-22 documented roughly 20 drone sightings across RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell, with eyewitness accounts describing "10-15 drones [flying] potentially into base airspace," that ultimately grounded surrounding aircraft.

Additionally, a witness using night-vision goggles described spotting "five to six drones" flying above the A1065 highway. Another individual reported seeing "large stationary things – tic tacs – they are not birds."
However, despite the sightings by both government officials and civilians, Britain's Airprox Board concluded in its final report that the objects were actually the lights of a U.S. Air Force F-15 operating nearby, pointing to radar data indicating the two aircraft came within 1,700 feet of each other on the evening of the incursion.
UFO tracker maps mysterious object clusters beneath U.S. shores
The popular UFO-reporting app Enigma gripped the nation after its crowdsourced data recorded thousands of mysterious objects jetting up and down the United States’ coastlines.
Since August, Enigma has documented more than 9,000 sightings of unidentified submersible objects (USOs) within 10 miles of United States shorelines or other major bodies of water, Marine Technology News reported.
Of the documented sightings, roughly 500 reportedly occurred within five miles of the country’s coastline, with 150 objects being seen either hovering above – or entering and emerging from – bodies of water.
According to Enigma, several clusters of activity appeared to be centered around specific coastal points, with California and Florida accounting for the most sightings throughout the country.
"It seems like there are five or six areas where there's real high UFO activity around water," Kent Heckenlively, author of "Catastrophic Disclosure: Aliens, The Deep State and The Truth," told Fox News Digital.
"It would make a great deal of sense, and I think the problem that the regular person is facing is that they're saying to themselves, ‘OK, if these things are real, how could they come to earth and hide?’ And the ocean seems like a great place to hide."
New UFO documentary claims U.S. hid evidence of non-human intelligence for decades
The release of a new UFO documentary titled, "The Age of Disclosure," has pulled back the curtain on the decades-long mystery surrounding strange, unknown objects spotted throughout the skies over the U.S.
"For a very long time, the public, Congress and even the president have been kept out of the loop on this subject," director Dan Farah told Fox News’ Bret Baier.
"In the last few years, senior members of Congress, senior members of the administration — thanks to whistleblowers — have found out what's been going on, and they are now in pursuit of the truth for themselves and for the American people."
The documentary features interviews with 34 senior members of the U.S. government, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, to pull back the curtain on an alleged "80-year global cover-up" of non-human intelligence potentially existing on other planets and their intrusion on Earth.
"We've had repeated instances of something operating in the airspace over restricted nuclear facilities, and it's not ours," Rubio said in the trailer.
The documentary looks to expose what has notoriously been a buttoned-up topic among U.S. government officials, with Farah revealing that members of Congress and the Trump administration are working to break through decades of refusing to release information to the public.
Additionally, the film reveals how the U.S. government is currently involved in a "high-stakes, secret Cold War race with adversarial nations like China and Russia" to investigate objects that are of non-human origin, with high-level officials corroborating the information.
The film also points to instances of non-human bodies being recovered from mysterious objects, further punctuating the mystery – and sense of urgency – surrounding alien life coming to Earth.
"I think that the human race would do a lot of growing up if we found out we lived in a very crowded neighborhood," Heckenlively said. "We would be curious, we'd want to fit in.
I think we would up our game if we knew that there were species out there that didn't have some of the negatives associated with the human race."

🚨🇺🇸 ASMONGOLD DIGS INTO EPSTEIN FILES: "IT'S THE LIZARD PARTY"
Streamer Asmongold claims he found a troubling connection buried in the newly released Epstein documents:
"The guy who is found to supposedly be wiring hush money to these young girls never got indicted.
He left his job.
He got hired by the group that represents both the current defense secretary and Donald Trump previously also.
And the file surrounding that event is selectively redacted in a way that removes his name in certain situations."
His conclusion? "Guys, it's the lizard party."
This isn't a left or right thing.
The names being protected span the political spectrum.
The selective redactions are becoming a pattern.
Names appear in some places and vanish in others.
No indictments for key players.
The more people dig through these files, the more questions emerge about who's actually being shielded.
