The premise of the story is that there is a "Rest of the story" that we along with the couple on the elevator are no privy to know.
If Mr. Hanks, exotic tastes in random photos is any indication of his real persona. He is without question, showing signs of sociopath/psychopath behavior.
Fixation upon discarded items many belonging to children is not typical of his area of art and suggests a game is being played by the poster, and the viewer is being toyed with. There is much thought into the photos.
Mr. Hanks is indeed in fucky territory.
The silence of Q on the subject is also obvious.
But we need to see more evidence.
