Over 100k Canadians sought medical care abroad in 2025 as Liberals prioritize assisted suicide

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/over-100k-canadians-sought-medical-care-abroad-in-2025-as-liberals-prioritize-assisted-suicide/

More than 100,000 Canadians sought non-emergency medical treatment in another country last year due to prolonged wait times in the domestic healthcare system, while the Liberal government expanded access to euthanasia.

Over 100,000 Canadians sought medical care outside of the country last year as Liberals continue to prioritize assisted suicide over actual health care, according to a new report.

On January 13, the Fraser Institute published results from a survey of physicians across Canada, which found that 105,529 Canadians sought healthcare outside the country, amid month-long wait times to receive care in Canada.

“Clearly, the number of Canadians who ultimately receive their medical care in other countries is not insignificant,” the Fraser Institute concluded. “That a considerable number of Canadians travelled abroad and paid to escape the well-known failings of the Canadian health-care system speaks volumes about how well the system is working for them.”

The survey questioned doctors from 12 major medical specialties: plastic surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, urology, internal medicine, radiation oncology, and medical oncology. Continue…

David Eby is a chronic liar. Eby said the court was to blame for the loss of private property rights, not the Cowichan.

https://breaking-news.ca/david-eby-is-a-chronic-liar-eby-said-the-court-was-to-blame-for-the-loss-of-private-property-rights-not-the-cowichan/

Yet if you listen to what is being said, that is exactly what the Cowichan tribe & some other tribes are calling for, not just in Richmond but across Canada.

Interpretation Amendment Act denialism is real. The addition of section 8.1, particularly 8.1(3), changed how statutes are interpreted. The Cowichan decision flowed from that change and helped trigger today’s property rights uncertainty. Dismissing that fallout is evasion.

@SChandraHerbert says denial has no place in B.C. That principle should apply to governments too, especially when they refuse to take responsibility for legislation they chose to ram through during a crisis and whose consequences British Columbians are now living with.

For clarity, residential schools were real. That history is documented. At the same time, British Columbians still deserve answers from David Eby about a law passed without full debate that is now reshaping property rights. Accountability is not optional.

Manitoba Won’t Cooperate on Federal Gun Buyback, Premier Says

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew says his province will not administer Ottawa’s gun buyback program and described the planned federal initiative as inefficient while speaking to reporters last week.

Kinew’s Jan. 16 comments position Manitoba among several other provinces that are pushing back against the program designed to compensate gun owners who willingly surrender recently banned firearms.

The federal government has earmarked more than $700 million for the buyback initiative, which covers semi-automatic and so-called assault-style guns.

Kinew said his province is unwilling to assume management of the program, saying it doesn’t appear to be “well run.” Continue…

Carney Agreed ‘In Principle’ to Join Trump’s Gaza Board of Peace

As the second phase of the peace plan for the Gaza Strip gets under way, Prime Minister Mark Carney says he accepted a role in U.S. President Donald Trump’s new governing body to oversee the territory.

“The president raised it with me a few weeks ago,” Carney said on Jan. 18 during his visit to Qatar. “I said, in principle, yes.”

The White House announced on Jan. 16 the appointment of the executive founding members of the “Board of Peace,” which aims to provide strategic insight, mobilize international resources, and ensure accountability during Gaza’s transition and reconstruction.

Some of the founding executive members include U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Continue…
