THIS IS AN ACTUAL POST BY A CALIFORNIAN REGARDING THE JERRY BROWN BULLET TRAIN. YOU WOULD BE AMAZED IF YOU KNEW HOW MANY DESENTERS ARE HERE. WE JUST CANNOT TALK:

It's never going to LA. This whole thing is a sick joke. It took Jerry's Green Mafia 3 tries to find a consultant who would cough up the numbers they wanted. Later they hired a Euro guy who had built the longest tunnel in the world to study going through the Tehachapis and he told them it could not be done. (earthquake faults). Next they hired another consultant to figure out how to slow down the train after it comes out of the tunnel they can't build.

I know a property owner 1/4 mile from the path where it was supposed to go through Merced. The transpo-crats breezed into town to announce they would not be buying through eminent domain (Iike they had done in Fresno) they would just offer people loans to relocate (like the gas station by the freeway that has no viable business unless it's next to the freeway). Some businesses closed, some moved, yet a few developers came in and built from scratch though right in the path of the train's supposed route. (BTW the transpos who were in charge quit and scattered, probably because they do not want to be around when this whole thing collapses.)

They told Merced the train would come in 2023 no make that 2025 then 2029, Last word was it's not coming at all! Meanwhile they already blew billions prepping and building the "train to nowhere" though that is a bit of an insult to Bakersfield. But that is the con, they say they will build from Fresno to Bakersfield and then figure out how to link it to the rest of the line.

They could have already built something along the Altamont or Pacheco or both corridors and done a great deal of good for the massively overloaded transit routes already in place. I leave it to readers to contemplate as to why; certainly it has something to do with the growth and property value explosion that would result.
