Putin and Xi exchange New Year’s greetings

31 Dec, 2025 12:17

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping exchanged New Year’s greetings, praising steady relations between the two countries.

Moscow and Beijing have deepened cooperation since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022.

The two countries describe their ties as a strategic partnership “without limits.” Both countries nearly doubled bilateral trade from 2020 to 2024, surpassing $240 billion last year.

Putin wished Xi and the Chinese people well, saying the China-Russia strategic partnership had continued to develop throughout 2025.

Xi sent reciprocal greetings to Putin and the Russian people on Tuesday, saying bilateral relations had made further progress and noting that the two leaders had met twice during the year in Beijing and Moscow.

He added that the two countries supported each other in multilateral forums, including the UN.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin also exchanged New Year’s messages, Chinese state media said.

Earlier in December Putin signed a decree allowing visa-free entry to Russia for Chinese citizens, granting them stays of up to 30 days. The move mirrored Beijing’s earlier decision to extend the same access to Russian citizens.

In September, China introduced the measure on a one-year trial basis to further facilitate travel between the two countries.

During his annual end-of-year Q&A session last week, Putin described relations with Beijing as stable and trusting, adding that the two countries’ foreign ministries remain in regular contact and coordinate approaches on key global issues.

Ukraine erases Tchaikovsky as symbol of ‘Russian imperialism’

30 Dec, 2025 19:34

Ukraine’s Culture Ministry has erased the name of renowned Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky from its National Music Academy.

Tchaikovsky rose to global prominence in the latter half of the 19th century as a leading composer of symphonic music, including the ballets Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

The measure is part of Kiev’s broader campaign to remove symbols linked to Ukraine’s shared history with Russia.

The Kiev City Council recently voted to dismantle 15 monuments and memorials, including those dedicated to the renowned Kiev-born writer Mikhail Bulgakov, as well as poet Anna Akhmatova and composer Mikhail Glinka, among others.

In Odessa, the authorities dismantled the monument to the city’s founder, Russian Empress Catherine II, known as Catherine the Great, as well as a 19th century monument to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, which was designated a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Culture said that the renaming was part of the ongoing “process of decolonization of Ukrainian culture.”

The authorities cited experts from the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance as concluding that the mention of Tchaikovsky is a “symbol of Russian imperial policy.”

Soviet-era monuments have also been targeted as part of the campaign. In August, an activist group named ‘Decolonization.

Ukraine’ announced that the last known statue of Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin in the country had been toppled with the help of local authorities in Khmelnytskyi Region in western Ukraine.

Commenting on the development at the time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “Ukraine is now well known for its fight against monuments.”

Since the Western-backed Maidan coup in 2014, Ukraine has adopted decommunization laws, which banned Soviet-era symbols and mandated the renaming of towns and streets bearing names from the USSR.

Following the escalation of the conflict with Russia in 2022, Kiev has doubled down on its campaign, which now effectively targets any cultural figures and landmarks associated with Russia.

Moscow has condemned the destruction of cultural heritage and attacks on historical memory. It has also named the discrimination against Russian-speaking Ukrainians as one of the reasons for the ongoing conflict.

Swarm of Ukrainian kamikaze drones intercepted near Moscow – officials

30 Dec, 2025 22:14

Russian air defenses have detected and neutralized 21 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Moscow Region. At least five of them were intercepted on their way to the capital, according to local officials.

Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov announced in a post on his Telegram channel on Tuesday evening that the drones were downed in seven municipalities – Ruzsky, Volokolamsky, Odintsovo, Mozhaysky, Narofominsky, Istra and Chekhov – saying air defenses were engaging additional targets.

One man, aged 57, was injured when a drone crashed and exploded in the village of Pagubino in Volokolamsky district.

He sustained shrapnel wounds to his back and arm and was hospitalized with injuries assessed to be of moderate severity. Medical personnel provided assistance at the scene before transporting him to a trauma center.

Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported the destruction of five drones flying towards the capital. Flights were temporarily suspended at Vnukovo airport as a precaution.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed in a statement that air defense systems had destroyed at least 24 more Ukrainian drones between 8pm and 11pm Moscow time.

Of these, 14 were shot down over Kaluga Region, five over Crimea, three over Belgorod, and one over Tula and Kursk each.

Ukraine has routinely launched drone raids deep into Russia in recent months, targeting critical infrastructure and residential buildings in what Moscow has described as desperate “terrorist attacks.”

This drone raid follows an attempted attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state residence in Novgorod Region on December 28-29, which Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov condemned as an act of “state terrorism.”

Moscow has promised a “non-diplomatic” response to the attack. Russia previously conducted strikes on military-related Ukrainian infrastructure, saying it aims to degrade Kiev’s drone and weapons production capabilities.

Russian MOD publishes map of Ukrainian drone attack on Putin’s residence

31 Dec, 2025 09:41

Moscow’s Defense Ministry has released a map showing the route of the Ukrainian long-range drones that targeted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence in Novgorod Region early on Monday.

According to Moscow, Kiev launched 91 UAVs at the compound on the night of December 28-29. All of the incoming drones were destroyed before they could reach the residence.

The map released by the Defense Ministry on Wednesday shows the flight path of the UAVs, which were launched from several locations in Ukraine and flew north towards Russia’s Novgorod Region through Bryansk, Smolensk and Tver regions.

According to the map, Russian air defenses shot down 49 drones above Bryansk Region, one above Smolensk Region and another 41 above Novgorod Region as they approached Putin’s residence.

Later in the day, the Defense Ministry published footage showing the debris of one of the UAVs that had been used in the failed attack.

The ministry said in a statement that it has “presented irrefutable evidence of a terrorist attack planned by the Kiev regime on the Russian President’s residence.”

The intentions of the Ukrainian government are confirmed by “fragments of drones shot down in Novgorod region, including those with warheads equipped with special striking elements designed to kill people,” the statement read.

The local eyewitness accounts of those who observed Russian air defenses at work “refute all attempts by Western and anti-Russian media outlets” to argue that there was “no evidence of a terrorist attack by the Kiev regime,” it said.

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky, who denies the drone raid on Putin’s residence took place, is “either unaware of the actual situation or is simply lying as he usually does,” the ministry argued.

The Kremlin noted previously that the drone attack was targeted not only against Putin, but also “against [US] President [Donald] Trump’s efforts to facilitate a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.”

Russia releases chilling video of Ukrainian 'drone strikes' on Putin's home

UPDATED: Dec 31, 2025 21:50 IST

A day after Russia claimed that a barrage of Ukrainian drones hit Moscow and several parts of Crimea, a chilling video showing repeated strikes on President Vladimir Putin’s residence went viral.

In another video released by the Kremlin, one of the downed drones used in the attack on Putin’s residence was shown to be carrying a six-kilogram explosive charge.

The attack on Putin’s residence ahead of New Year’s Eve drew concern from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who urged all parties to focus on ongoing efforts to secure peace in the region.

"Deeply concerned by reports of the targeting of the residence of the President of the Russian Federation. Ongoing diplomatic efforts offer the most viable path toward ending hostilities and achieving peace.

We urge all concerned to remain focused on these efforts and to avoid any actions that could undermine them," PM Modi posted on social media.

Meanwhile, Ukraine downplayed the concerns raised by PM Modi and other countries, calling Russia’s claims unsubstantiated.

Dismissing claims that any such attack took place, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha took to X and wrote, “Almost a day passed and Russia still hasn’t provided any plausible evidence to its accusations of Ukraine’s alleged ‘attack on Putin’s residence.’ And they won’t. Because there’s none. No such attack happened."

“We were disappointed and concerned to see the statements by Emirati, Indian, and Pakistani sides expressing their concerns regarding the attack that never happened,” he added.

Earlier, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday blamed Ukraine for targeting Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region, located between Moscow and St. Petersburg, with as many as 91 drones, adding that they were intercepted by the air defence system.

Following his meeting with US President Donald Trump in Florida, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the development a concerted effort by Russia to derail peace talks and “justify additional attacks against Ukraine.”

Siding with Ukraine, France said it had found no concrete evidence to back “the serious accusations made by the Russian authorities.”

Hezbollah's Deadline to Disarm Ends, IDF Readies for Combat

DEC 31, 2025 07:42

Israel's military is preparing for potential short-term strikes in Lebanon as a U.S.-backed deadline for Hezbollah to disarm expires at midnight Wednesday, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set to decide next steps following his recent meeting with President Donald Trump, as reported by israel hayom today.

According to the latest Israeli military data, Hezbollah has breached the truce 2,024 times since its inception, while the Lebanese army has enforced only 593 of those incidents.

Israel has submitted 863 enforcement requests to Lebanese forces, which claim to have addressed 593. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have taken independent action on about 90 violations, leaving 145 targets unresolved.

Security sources told Israel Hayom that Lebanon is projecting an illusion of progress. Beirut asserts that 90% to 95% of the area south of the Litani River—a key buffer zone under U.N. Resolution 1701—is free of Hezbollah presence.

But Israeli intelligence disputes this, noting the Lebanese army's avoidance of private properties and villages in the south.

Evidence suggests Hezbollah is rebuilding its capabilities even in restricted areas, exploiting the army's weakness and lack of determination to fully dismantle the group.

Since the ceasefire, Israel has carried out roughly 390 targeted operations in Lebanon, eliminating threats including local coordinators aiding Hezbollah's efforts to regroup in civilian zones.

Estimates place hundreds to a few thousand Hezbollah operatives south of the Litani, though not directly on the border.

The IDF maintains a zero-tolerance policy for suspicious activity near the line, as seen in Tuesday night's strike on a suspect believed to be working for the group.

Intelligence indicates Hezbollah retains prewar infrastructure in the area, with only partial damage from prior Israeli actions.

Diplomatic efforts have ramped up in recent weeks to pressure Lebanon into compliance. A coordination meeting is slated for next weekend in Naqoura, involving diplomatic representatives, building on prior sessions.

Yet preparations for military action are well underway. For months, the IDF has readied for several days of combat, focusing on targets not routinely hit.

The Israeli Air Force could extend operations beyond southern Lebanon, emphasizing Hezbollah sites in central Beirut, a densely populated area largely spared since the truce to minimize civilian risks.

If approved, the operation would likely span just a few days, though contingencies account for escalation depending on Hezbollah's response. Israeli officials stress an unwavering commitment to preventing the group's resurgence.

The developments come against a backdrop of heightened U.S.-Israel coordination.

Netanyahu's discussions with Trump this week pointed to shared concerns over Iran's proxies, with the prime minister publicly calling for Hezbollah's disarmament: "We will not allow the organization to rebuild its strength."

As the deadline passes, the region teeters on the edge, with global markets watching for any ripple effects on oil prices and Middle East stability.

The ‘Non-Human Intelligence’ Terminology Shift: How Sci-Fi is Changing its Language in 2025

December 30, 2025

If you have watched Avatar: Fire and Ash trailers or binged the new season of Stranger Things, you might have noticed something strange. The word “alien” is disappearing.

It used to be the default setting for Hollywood. If it came from the sky, it was an alien. If it had green skin, it was an alien. But in 2025, that word feels surprisingly dated, like calling the internet “the World Wide Web.”

Instead, we are hearing new terms. “Non-Human Intelligence” (NHI). “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena” (UAP). “The Visitors.” “Trans-medium entities.”

This is not just screenwriters trying to sound smart. It is a direct reflection of the massive cultural and legal shift happening in Washington right now.

As the “UAP Disclosure Act” debates heat up in Congress, Hollywood is quietly rewriting its script to match the government’s new vocabulary.

Here is why your favorite sci-fi movies are suddenly sounding a lot more like Pentagon briefings.

The Death of the “Little Green Man”

For decades, the word “alien” implied one thing: extraterrestrial. It meant “not from Earth.” It meant little green men from Mars or gray beings from Zeta Reticuli.

But the term “Non-Human Intelligence” (NHI) is different. It is broader. It is vaguer. And that is exactly why it is terrifying.

The shift to NHI in films like the trending documentary The Age of Disclosure is deliberate. “NHI” allows for possibilities that “alien” does not. Are they interdimensional?

Are they artificial intelligence from a dead civilization? Or… Are they “crypto-terrestrials” who have been hiding in our oceans for thousands of years?

When the Schumer-Rounds Amendment was introduced in the Senate, it explicitly defined “Non-Human Intelligence” in legal text for the first time.

That was the signal flare. Now, we are seeing movies like Predator: Badlands lean into the idea that these creatures are not just “invaders” but complex, intelligent operators with their own code.

From UFO to UAP: Why the “A” Matters

You have probably corrected a friend at a dinner party by now:

“It’s not a UFO, it’s a UAP.” But do you know why the government (and now Hollywood) made the switch?

It is not just a rebrand.

“UFO” stood for Unidentified Flying Object. But the phenomena being reported by Navy pilots, and now depicted in 2025 sci-fi thrillers like The Gorge, aren’t just flying. They are submerging.

The “A” in UAP now officially stands for “Anomalous,” not “Aerial.” This covers “trans-medium” travel—objects that move from space to atmosphere to ocean without breaking stride.

We are seeing this reflected in pop culture right now. Look at Avatar: Fire and Ash. The conflict isn’t just in the sky; it is in the oceans and the volcanoes.

The threat is multi-domain. Hollywood is teaching us that the “sky” is just one entry point.

The “Sky People” Rebrand

Even James Cameron, who has been writing about this stuff for 40 years, is part of the shift. In Avatar, the humans are the “Sky People.” It is a specific, descriptive term used by the Na’vi.

It mirrors how we are starting to talk about NHI in the real world. We are moving away from the sensationalized “Invaders!” rhetoric of the 1950s and toward neutral, observational language.

In the 2025 hit Bugonia, the characters grapple with a conspiracy that a CEO is an “alien.” But the horror comes from the ambiguity. Is she biological? Is she something else?

The film plays with the “NHI” concept by refusing to put the entity in a neat “Martian” box.

Why We Are Being Retrained

Language shapes how we think. If you call something an “alien,” you are subconsciously framing it as a biological creature from another planet that you can shoot, dissect, or talk to.

But if you call it “Non-Human Intelligence,” you are acknowledging that you have no idea what it is. You are admitting that it might be a machine. It might be a demon. It might be us from the future.

Hollywood is the world’s most effective education machine. By adopting the “NHI” and “UAP” terminology, sci-fi isn’t just trying to be accurate to the 2025 news cycle.

It is preparing us for a reality where the answer to “Are we alone?” is not a simple “No.”

It is a much more complicated “It depends on what you mean by ‘we’.”

Study says Mississippi is one of the last places you’re going to see a UFO

December 31, 2025

As revelers ring in the New Year and scan the skies for fireworks, Mississippians hoping to spot something more otherworldly may want to temper their expectations.

A new study ranks Mississippi among the worst states in the nation for reported UFO sightings, with just 7.82 sightings per 1 million residents each year.

The analysis, conducted by social casino website McLuck, examined reports filed with the National UFO Reporting Center between 2020 and 2024.

Full disclosure: Last year a different company put out a different study based on different criteria that said we’re the 4th most likely to see a UFO, so really, is any of this for anything more than fun?

By contrast, Vermont tops the list as the state where residents are most likely to report seeing a UFO, averaging 33 sightings per 1 million residents annually.

New Hampshire and Idaho followed closely behind, with more than 31 sightings per 1 million residents each year.

Mississippi ranked 48th out of 50 states, with 115 reported sightings over the five-year period. October was the most common month for sightings in the state, while 9 p.m. was the most frequent time of day, according to the study.

It should be noted that Mississippi had a very noteworthy sighting that has been discussed at length in Pascagoula in 1973.

Texas, despite having one of the highest total numbers of reported sightings, ranked last overall when population was taken into account, with just 7.01 sightings per 1 million residents annually.

In a release sent Tuesday, McLuck researchers calculated sightings per capita to better reflect how likely residents are to report unexplained objects in the sky, rather than simply tallying raw numbers. They also analyzed patterns by month and time of day.

Across much of the country, summer evenings appear to offer the best chance of spotting a UFO. August was the most common month for sightings in four of the top five states, and 9 p.m. emerged as the most frequent time nationwide.

Vermont led all states with 107 sightings reported from 2020 to 2024. August accounted for the largest share, and nearly a quarter of all reports in the state occurred around 9 p.m.

New Hampshire posted similar trends, with August and early nighttime hours leading the way.

Idaho, Maine and Oregon rounded out the top five. Idaho saw a sharp increase in reports from 2023 to 2024, while Maine experienced a 29% year-over-year rise during the same period.

Oregon, meanwhile, recorded a decline in sightings last year despite ranking high overall.

Joerg Nottebaum, a spokesperson for McLuck, said seasonal and behavioral factors likely play a role in the trends.

“Our study reveals the states with the highest number of UFO sightings over five years, finding that the summer months are the best time of year to spot one,” Nottebaum said.

“This is probably due to the lighter evenings and Americans spending more time outside, which could increase their chances of spotting these phenomena.”

Interest in UFOs remains strong nationwide. More than 60% of Americans believe the U.S. government is hiding information about UFOs and extraterrestrial life, according to a recent YouGov survey cited by McLuck.

While Mississippi may not be a hotspot for reported sightings, researchers note that location, weather patterns and population density all influence reporting rates.

For hopeful skywatchers in the Magnolia State, the study suggests that fall evenings — particularly in October — may offer the best chance, however slim, of spotting something unexplained.

For those determined to improve their odds this New Year’s, the data point north — preferably toward Vermont — and suggest stepping outside just after dark, eyes on the sky.

'Who put them there?' Scientists struggle to explain UFO-like objects captured in 1950s astronomy photos

December 30, 2025

Researchers hypothesize that strange and transient star-like objects that appeared in astronomy photos at the time of nuclear tests might be UFOs.

The National Geographic Society undertook a massive astronomical survey between 1949 and 1958 at the Palomar Observatory in California, snapping thousands of photographs of the sky from the north celestial pole to 33 degrees south of the celestial equator.

According to a 1959 leaflet issued by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, the result was a "map of the sky, one that can be used like any road map, to help the astronomer find his way to objects too faint to see directly at the eye-piece of a telescope."

The Palomar Observatory Sky Survey images captured a multitude of inexplicable star-like objects that astronomers had reportedly seen appear then quickly vanish.

The objects, which flashed in the sky several years before the October 1957 launch of Sputnik, supposedly cannot be chalked up to gravitational lensing, gamma ray bursts, fragmenting asteroids, and/or various non-astronomical effects.

"We've ruled out some of the prosaic explanations, and it means we have to at least consider the possibility that these might be artificial objects from somewhere," Stephen Bruehl, a professor at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, told Live Science.

In a peer-reviewed study published in October in the journal Scientific Reports, Bruehl and co-author Beatriz Villarroel, a Swedish astronomer, found that there are "associations beyond chance between occurrence of transients and both nuclear testing and [unidentified anomalous phenomenon] sightings."

The duo analyzed the transient data available for the time period Nov. 19, 1949, to April 28, 1957, and tested for possible associations between the occurrence of 107,875 transients, which were observed on 310 of the 2,718 days in this period, and above-ground nuclear weapons tests, which were conducted by the U.S., the U.K., and the former USSR on 123 days during the study period.

The researchers found that a "transient was 45% more likely to be observed on dates within a nuclear test window compared to dates outside of a nuclear test window."

The duo also linked the transients to unidentified flying object/unidentified anomalous phenomenon reports, noting that "for days on which at least one transient was identified, significant associations were noted between total number of transients and total number of independent UAP reports per date."

'Why do they seem to show interest in nuclear testing?'

"For every additional UAP reported on a given date, there was an 8.5% increase in number of transients identified," Bruehl and Villarroel wrote.

When it came down to hypothesizing what the transients might be, the duo came up with two possibilities that could account for associations of transients with both nuclear testing and UAP reports.

"The first involves an unexpected and previously undocumented atmospheric phenomenon triggered by nuclear detonations or related to nuclear fallout that may serve as a stimulus for some UAP reports and appear as transients on astronomical images," they wrote.

The duo noted, however, that this first hypothesis is problematic, as effects in the atmosphere "would be likely to result in a streak on the image over the 50 min exposure, yet all transients appear as distinct point sources rather than streaks."

Additionally, the researchers noted that transients were "most often observed one day after a nuclear test; such atmospheric phenomena would have to be sustained and remain localized in one location for approximately 24 h to account for the visual appearance of transients."

After poking holes in their first hypothesis, the duo propped up their second hypothesis on the "well-known strand of UAP lore suggesting that nuclear weapons may attract UAP."

"Within this latter hypothesis, our results could be viewed as indicating that transients are artificial, reflective objects either in high-altitude orbits around Earth or at high altitudes within the atmosphere," they added.

Bruehl said to Live Science, "If it turns out that transients are reflective artificial objects in orbit — prior to Sputnik — who put them there, and why do they seem to show interest in nuclear testing?"

Michael Wiescher, a nuclear astrophysicist at the University of Notre Dame in France, suggested to Scientific American that nuclear tests alone might be the simpler explanation for the transients as they "obviously have an impact on the atmosphere" and can leave "a lot of junk in the outer atmosphere."

Sean Kirkpatrick, former head of the Department of War's UAP-investigating All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, similarly suggested that the explanation likely has to do with nuclear tests and the sun, noting that the "first thing that comes to mind is solar flare radiation or ionized particle radiation from nuclear testing."

Kirkpatrick also suggested that high-altitude balloons, which were used for nuclear monitoring, could account for some of the UAP reports.

Eric Burlison on the Lue Elizondo controversy & the UFO Disclosure effort in 2026 - Psicoactivo #761

Dec 30, 2025

Today's Psicoactivo episode was a little complicated due to multiple logistics issues, but we still managed to make the interview with Rep. Eric Burlison work, and it was a good one.

From the get-go, we address the way he was treated by a certain part of the UFO Community after making a comment about Lue Elizondo & the comments made by Jay Anderson on The Joe Rogan Experience.

But we do discuss multiple topics that will certainly interest everyone. I hope you enjoy it, and sorry for freezing at around the 30th minute. My internet was awful, but we made it work.

I even missed some questions I had for him because the morning was so chaotic. Thanks for understanding.

Good to know that David Grusch will continue to work with members of the US Congress to take action on UFO transparency.

As more and more members of Congress are informally briefed on the reality of UFO crash retrievals, NHI, etc., the chances for official disclosure improve significantly.

🚨 BIG UFO UPDATE: David Grusch is STAYING ON with Congress! 🚨

Rep. Eric Burlison just confirmed in an interview that UFO whistleblower David Grusch will continue working in his congressional office into the new year!

Burlison praised Grusch's tireless efforts: "He's done incredible work pushing for UAP transparency – including fighting to get the UAP Disclosure Act (UAPDA) through Congress."

Grusch is even preparing an end-of-year report on next steps for disclosure in 2026. This is HUGE – the man who testified about recovered non-human craft and biologics is still on the inside, guiding the fight!

Is full disclosure finally coming? 👀🛸

UFO - Orbs South Kona, Hawaii

A Hawaii schoolteacher experienced a multi-hour encounter with several orb like UAPs. Two witnesses managed to record over ten minutes of footage.

The video shows the objects flying over water and interacting with each other. The report claimed that later in the night, the object moved to within a few yards of the witnesses.

According to the witness, prior to the recordings, the UAPs displayed instantaneous acceleration and highly unusual flight behavior.

In 2025 the White House told us "our technologies permit us to manipulate time and space. They leave distance annihilated."

One year prior I discovered the United States has teleportation weapons based on nuclear designs.
