I suspect this has more to do with shutting down the French, than with Colombian Cocaine.
France is deeply hostile towards Trump, and they have a launch site in French Guiana, which is not far from Venezuela, and its capable of launching Polar Orbits, which would be ideal for an ICBM strike on the US.
