Anon has been to a few swiss chalets.

In those parts it's common to convert cellars into

party venues, because underground, mainly soundproof.

Only one problem, being a hole in the ground

under a building, they have only one entrance/exit.

A staircase which also acts as a chimney in a fire.

Which means the exit attracts all the heat.

Consider also, when the fire was still small and lacking oxygen

only took a person escaping to open the door and cause a flash over.

Sure other factors like Styrofoam on the ceiling didn't help.

But all of these places are hell waiting to ignite.
