Looks like Trump single handedly destroyed US agriculture.

As you are aware, nearly all US grain production is from Monsanto patented GMO varieties, and the US farmer basically has no choice but to grow this GMO seed. They can't even save the seed from the last crop to plant the next one, they have to plant Monsanto seed, of nothing at all.

The problem is, that the major consumers of the GMO grain has been Russia and China, but they are both rejecting, and banning, US grain because of this GMO contamination.

Unfortunately, the US farmer cannot grow anything BUT GMO seed, so next year, the same problem will arise, and no one will buy this GMO grain. Can the US farmer pivot, and grow non GMO crops to save themselves from bankruptcy? No, because all the seed production is controlled by Monsanto, and there is no non-GMO seed stock available.

So can the US farmer import non GMO seed from, say Brazil, or Russia?

After what Trump did with the tariff's?

Not a chance in hell.

What Trump should have done, is release the farmers from these onerous Monsanto contracts, and let them grow actual FOOD type crops instead, that they can export, but this hasn't happened, and US farmers are now locked in to a no win situation, were they have no choice but to grow another worthless crop of GMO rubbish, and go bankrupt.

This is the reason Trump wants to use tariff cash to bail the farmers out for this years catastrophic loses, but this won't help them next year.

Will Trump admit he made a mistake, and act quickly to release the farmers and let them grow non GMO. or will Trump double down, and protect "Big Farmer", and let the little guys go Bust?

It won't matter anyway, its already far too late.
